My boyfriend and I went into the Royal Praline Company in the French Quarter of New Orleans and bought pralines as well as a bag of their bourbon pecans that they had for sale. The store was kind of in a disarray and did not appear kept up, as there were many things misplaced by what I assumed was from customers but even so, the staff were not fixing their shelves. The staff was also not really caring about their customers as the person helping me was on their phone. However, the pralines we bought were delicious and the bourbon pecans were very, very rich in flavor.

This is a much smaller branch than the one on Royal Street. I don't really recommend this one, as the selection of pralines is much smaller than the Royal Street branch. There's honestly not too much here in this store and I'd much rather buy souvenirs from the Cafe du Monde granddad's store next door.

I looked all over for some authentic New Orleans pralines and I found them here! On a good note, they were delicious! The New Orleans Candy Company brand is very tasty! On a bad note, I had the worst experience with the 2 workers there. I came in clearly confused between the different flavors and brands, and at no time did anyone offer assistance. No one ever greeted me, no one ever spoke to me, no one even looked in my direction. They looked at me to acknowledge that I walked in the store, but they never spoke a word to me. I'm thinking this has to be the worst welcome I have ever had. If I didn't have a flight in 3 hours, I would have looked for a different Store to purchase my pralines. I don't know if it was because I was black, I don't know if it's because they don't acknowledge customers, but I literally felt so forgotten and disrespected. I even brought it to their attention. I told them, "you know you guys didn't even speak to me when I walked in. I'm not used to people being unfriendly in New Orleans", and they responded, "we usually talk to everyone, people say we're overfriendly" and I said "well not today". They never even apologized! If I had a choice, I would not come back to this store the 2 people working there were completely unprofessional and not welcoming in the slightest bit. The cashier's name was Rachel and I didn't catch the older man's name that was working with her that day on the 23rd of January. You will not receive the New Orleans hospitality in Royal Praline Company 2.

Did not feel welcomed here at all. The sales associate sat there on her phone and did not say a word to us or come up for air from looking down at her phone. This is unreal. Our visit to New Orleans has been great up until now. Everyone has been sooo welcoming and nice but this was not the case with this sales associate. She simply didn't care to greet us or welcome us at all. We went across the street to Aunt Sally's instead.

I really enjoyed my souvenir shopping experience here. Fair prices! It was a tranquil calm in the hectic city of New Orleans. The cashier was super helpful and told me about the different spices of New Orleans and we even had a brief discussion of New Orleans cuisine. Super helpful and friendly, and to top it off, the prices were super fair. The Cafe Du Monde chicoy coffee were the same prices as ordering it from the take-out counter at the Cafe Du Monde flagship shop across the street! The spices and hot sauce were comparable to super market prices too. Needless to say, I bought all my gifts here. What's there not to love here?!

As we were walking around, I bought two items: French Roast coffee and a coffee mug from a store about a block away. Both item were $2.00 less here. Recommendation is it start here for the typical souvenir items and save some money.

So glad I found this little place in the French Quaters. The rating is on Aunt Aggie De's pralines. One of the best pralines I ever had and believe me, I've had plenty! The prices I thought were a little high but that's to be expected in a souvenir shop. The customer service sucked!! No customer services what so ever. Not even a hello, can I help you or thank you for your purchase. Even though they get a 0 for their lack of service, I would still go back if I visited New Orleans again. That's how good those pralines were!

So far the BEST pralines in town! Yes, better than 'Southern Candy' despite their numerous accolades. Royal's are creamy, and just sweet enough without overwhelming the palate. Taste test, and decide for yourself.
