An awesome example of how a grocery store should be. Very clean and well organized. All the shelves were faced and stocked. Their prices are typical for Rouses. Their meat dept is freaking amazing!!!! They also have some pretty hard to find anywhere else, local items. Whoever thought Quail eggs should be pickled took way to many intravenous drugs in their life. And they taste as bad as they sound like they should. But hey it's Louisiana, and that's how the coonasses do!! ;)

I ordered food for a food bank annual conference for 50 people. The food arrived hot and on time. The baked chicken, Mac and Cheese, potatoes, meat pies, and Salad were all really good. The conference satisfaction survey bore this out. Everyone loved the food - there were absolutely no complaints, which I've never seen before. And they did all of this for about $7 a person (it's priced by the pan, but that's what it came out to). It was a really good way for a nonprofit to serve some much better than decent food on a budget. Will definitely be using them again.

Do not purchase crawfish from this location!! I picked up a sack on Mardi Gras day and when I got them home 5 min away 75% of the sack was dead. Very disappointed!!

I love the hometown feeling of shopping, yes, I said it...even though it's in a large store, knowing that its Louisiana owned. The people that Rouse's hires makes the difference. They must have a decent hiring and training program for them.I don't like to establish shopping habits just because of the store, but this one always draws me back to them. I like saving on my shopping, and will travel a little ways to reap the benefits, but it seems that I usually come back here, and still save.Latest trip was for rice. I used to stay with the name brands until this last Thanksgiving, when the shelves got cleaned out of some staple foods. Yes, rice was one of them...and I ended up using the Rouse's name brand rice on a suggestion from an employee. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rice. Loved the way it cooked up, and nobody had any complaints about the rice. I guess nowadays, that's a good compliment. It does seem people will go out of their way to give a bad review or complaint, so I'll translate the lack of complaint to this compliment :)

Cooked food per lb is $8.99 except on Fridays which is $9.99.That is pretty expensive considering that they are a supermarket. You can go to Chinese buffets nearby and buffet prices per pound are cheaper. I also saw another customer's review who spent $35 to get 2 meals for his kids with a bottle of soda. I always eat it out and I find Rouse's to be more expensive than some restaurants like Chili's, Outback or Olive Garden. Also, there are times that there are flies flying around the food and the employees didn't seem to notice it. I just hope that the management will do something about it because their food is good. I also wonder if they wash their vegetables and fruits in the salad bar because I once saw that they put the lettuce in the sushi container straight from the bag that they just opened.

I called to see if they had a specific product in stock on 12/14/22 at 6:20PM. I was willing to drive over 40 miles to spend my money there if they had it. I was not only hung up on, but when I called back to ask my question my call was then ignored 3 times.
