Rosella is such a cute spot. I wish I were giving it more stars. There's ample seating inside and out. The service was great. We received a warm welcome upon entry. The drinks were yummy, but the food was so salty that it burned. We started out great with the corn dog appetizer. It's bigger than you'd expect and the cook on the dough was perfect. Crispy outside, not pulling away from the sausage. The flavor of the sausage was great, but it was very chewy. We wished we had a serrated knife to cut it. The salt problem started first with the gnocchi. It was inedible. My date sent it back and the server was happy to take care of it. But the burger he got instead and my umami wings were disappointing. I'm a New Orleans native, so I enjoy salty more than my blood pressure appreciates, and even I couldn't eat the wings. You could smell the fish sauce when they sat them in front of me. I was excited about that, but biting into them was deeply unpleasant. The texture seemed freezer burnt and it feels like they compensated with a *ton* of salt. His burger was salty and undercooked. They didn't ask about the temperature of the burger and sent it out pink. Because we'd already sent back one dish, we didn't want to burden the kitchen further by returning two more meals. Instead we left. A couple of servers asked if we wanted a box and we hated to waste the food, but it was so salty that we left empty handed with so much food on the table. A big waste of money, too. I'd be willing to give them another shot because the cocktails and the drinks were good. It's a new restaurant, they're still getting their bearings.

I've dropped in at this neighborhood hideout twice now and I'll definitely be a regular. Not pictured from my first outing are the mushroom toast (must have) and the smoked catfish dip, which was delicious if you're adventurous and into seafood. Mushroom toast is a generous portion of thickly sliced bread smothered with a savory and creamy mushroom Sherry sauce. Delectable. On my second trip, I tried the boudin balls, and they're some of the best I've ever had. Crispy, meaty, and perfectly fried (not greasy); I liked the pickle and dipping sauce accompaniments too. The cured red fish was an off-menu special but I'd get it again if I saw it. The portion was smaller, but the flavor didn't miss, and I wanted to order several more of these small plates. I probably won't get the eggplant and lentil salad again. It was my first try for lentils, but I expected the salad to have more even proportions of ingredients. It was heavy on the lentil and light on the eggplant, cucumber, and tomato. Vinaigrette was tart and tangy and well distributed. Luke, the bartender, knows all about the menu. He's also excellent with drinks. Get the house namesake, and you won't be disappointed. Vibe is homey and casual. Leave your pretension at home

We came to Rosella for breakfast/brunch (with a reservation) and sat inside due to the heat. It was really a beautiful space and I loved the decor - very unique and felt special to be here. Our server was a super chill guy who we liked, but he had to keep going back to get answers to our questions (juice options for mimosa, cross-contamination concerns on some of the dishes, etc.) which was fine but made our time a little longer for the meal. I got the steak and egg and it was PHENOMENAL. I was honestly blown away at the quality of the filet - yes, a filet - and the super cute curry fondant potatoes. Everyone was happy with their dishes and we had some tasty coffee to go along with breakfast. I got a cranberry mimosa that was perfectly balanced (it needs to be light pink, of course). Overall I'd say a 4/5 - it was a little pricy but everything was delicious and it was a pretty neat spot.

Had to come check out what took over full blast. Definitely a huge contrast going from brunch to wine and snacks. The inside hasn't changed much. That location has always been small so any time you have more than a few people in there it gets pretty loud. The waiter was great and had some good recommendations. For apps went with the corn dog, pimento fried cheese, and the boudin balls. The corn log is what it should be called is huge and tasty. For me it was a tie between the corn dog and the fried cheese for my favorite small bites. Boudin balls weren't bad just hard to compete with the other two. For the main tried their lasagna, which was good. I think their strength is drinks and snacks. I think next time I'll just do drinks and one of every app.

With all the hype surrounding their opening I honestly was expecting more. We had been there plenty of times when it was Full Blast Brunch so we were familiar with the layout. Even when it used to be full it never was as loud as it was during our dinner and on top of that when someone went to the jukebox you had to yell to be heard by people across the table. We ordered the pimento cheese (which was fried), the corn dog, boudin balls and the lasagna as the main course. The appetizers were pretty good and the pimento cheese was my favorite. The lasagna was okay. It was okay but I think we'll stick to it as a snacking place.

Excellent and fun bar tender and head of house. Amazing flavors in the small plates. We had the pimento cheese, fried pickles, and corn dog and all were very good. The corn dog was large and I'm glad we shared it. Rosella has a fun vibe and definitely adding this to our favorites list. Quick service without rushing us to eat and leave.

I wanted so much to like this place. Cute corner location, cute pub sign of "Rosella" hanging on the building, cute bistro tables outide, cute decor inside. On top of that, a nice menu of inventive foods. But once we sat down, the cacophonous music playing was loud, distracting and incongruent with the vibe of the place. I can't even say what music genre because I don't think "clanging machine noise" is a genre. The very nice waitress offered up the free jukebox - very cool (the original music was the owner's choice, not the jukebox) - so I chose some music. I don't know if the owner was offended because then she went and turned the jukebox volume up practically to "11". Honestly considered leaving the restaurant, but my partner ordered the vegetarian lasagna and was very excited to try it. But then, we had to change tables. With the music now resolved -- except for the absurd volume -- I was able to notice the dizzying flashes on my partner's face across from me, being cast by the rotating disco ball. I couldn't possibly go through dinner trying to have a pleasant conversation with someone who had flashing lights scanning over his face the whole time. Yeah, so we changed tables. Then the lasagna arrived. A 4" square of tepid lasagna - truly an appetizer portion. And cold in the center. Do they always serve lasagna cold? Was this another commentary directed at us by an offended owner because now we changed tables, too?? It wasn't worth telling the waitress. Actually, she never even came over until 5 minutes after my partner finished. At that point she did ask how everything was, and when he remarked that he thought the portion was small, SHE AGREED!! "Yes, we've cut down on portion sizes." OMG. And she just smiled sweetly, as though on our side. And then handed us the bill of $25.00 for a 4" square of our cold lasagna. Did the lasagna taste good? I suppose, if you like cold lasagna.

Hubby and I stumbled upon this cozy lil gem one Sunday for brunch. Friendly staff and we loved the vibe. Felt like I was in my Granny's house with all of the old school furniture in that classic avocado green color. We got the steak and eggs, breakfast your style with a poached egg and bottomless mimosas. Everything was delicious! We will definitely return when the weather is cooler and sit outside in the courtyard.
