Ron's Seafood Market

I have been traveling to New Orleans for nearly 40 years. One of the best restaurants in the city. Don't let the outside or inside of this place fool you. Typically New Orleans restaurants that look like holes in the wall are generally the BEST. Love love the food. Incredible Gumbo. Red Beans and Rice to die for. Hell everything is excellent. Be patient. The restaurant is very small. Its a bit hard to see. The parking lot is difficult. But for those who are wanting a real New Orleans style dinning with out going down to the French Quarter you cannot miss this place.

So I absolutely LOVE crawfish. Bou ole boy can they boil crawfish. Ummmmmmmm they are seasoned to perfection. They are always hot!!!!!! The workers are really nice. When you go use debit or cash. They charge 3% more if you use credit. Every dollar spent there is worth it.

Bought boiled crawfish & fresh shrimp. Got home to find 1/2 the crawfish had straight tails meaning they were dead before boiling & the fresh shrimp had a very rotten smell. Crawfish were very dirty & nasty. Called store manager showed no concern. Said they do not purge the crawfish to clean them. said have a good day & hung up. Went back up there to get 1/2 the money back. Do not waiste your time with this place.

Bought 2 dozen boiled crabs last weekend, totally happy. Boiled perfectly, really enjoyed them. They were expensive but pretty comparable to other seafood markets and they actually had boiled crabs which a couple other places did not.Have used them for years, will continue.Employees are nice to do business with and have found them to have crabs when other markets don't, know how to cook them and only 2 out of 2 dozen were light.Great job guys & gals, we need others to follow your example and serve our community well Keep up the good work

We lived in Denham Springs for years and always shopped at Ron's, so after moving to Baton Rouge we decided to make the drive because we so trusted Ron's. The crawfish were extremely small, hard, hard to peel and had a dirty taste. Never Again, RON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bought a dozen boiled crabs and only received 17 loose (all claws had been previously torn from crabs) claws! Very disappointed and will not be going back.
