I can't believe that I'm the first to review Gretna's fall concert series: Rockin on the River! This is an awesome free concert that takes place during the fall at the Gretna Riverfront Amphitheater. It starts at 6:30 and is scheduled to go until 8:30, but usually runs a little bit over. The best part of it is that it takes place when the weather is starting to cool off and the view of the river, while you watch live music, is gorgeous. They have food such as pizza and hot dogs for sale, and beer, if you want it. You can also bring your own food and drinks, if you don't feel like paying the fest prices.Last year, my boyfriend and I went every Friday night and made a whole evening out of it. He brought his dog (the area is animal friendly) and his friends brought their kids and we all had an awesome time. Among others, we saw Rockin' Doopsie and Amanda Shaw, who I think was my favorite. The concert attracts a good crowd and it's a big family thing. You should check it out this fall, it's worth the trip across the river!
