Roberto's is a little piece of paradise! We started out with the eggplant crab cakes - which were to die for! The flavor was robust and melted in your mouth leaving your tastebuds mouthwatering with every bite. We were served promptly for a Wednesday evening. They surprisingly had several decent sized parties for a weekday but the service was phenomenal. We each had an entrée served with a salad and bread. The half a roasted duck is amazing. The amount was large enough to feed two people. The fried catfish and shrimp were perfectly crispy with amazing flavor - very well seasoned. Roberto's is great about substituting items! The restaurant hide a quiet vibe, next time I think we will sit in the bar area since this is more our scene but overall highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back!

Our family has been dining here for more years than I can count. The food has always been outstanding. One of our favorite places. Sadly this is no longer the case. The last 4-5 times we dined at Roberto's the food has just been okay. Not bad but nothing great. Friday we had dinner and it was terrible. My husband and I both had the fish special. Amberjack is my favorite fish. It was extremely overcooked, tasted fishy and old. Extremely disappointing. The risotto was bland and totally lacked flavor. We normally order a dessert to share or take home. The dessert are also not what they have been in the past. No longer topped with fresh whipped cream. They come with a dollop of nasty pre-made cool whip type topping. Not what you expect for an $8 dessert. Service has still be great. Food sadly is very disappointing.

12/20/24 I went eat with a group of friends and family. My wife and I ordered the seafood platter. The food took a while to come out which I'm fine with however it was brought to our table at room temperature. The Seafood gumbo is a little better than average. The seafood all had the same batter. Fish and shrimp had to much corn meal, oysters were under cooked and cold. The soft shell crab was very small. The bread and crab dip were good. For Baton Rouge area this might be good food but for a Cajun from Bayou Lafourche and currently living in St Gabriel this is just average food.

My client (local) said this was his favorite restaurant in all of Louisiana, and it delivered. Off the beaten path but not too far, with an authentic ambiance you can "feel" as much as see. Service was excellent (shoutout to Sam B.), knowledgeable, attentive, and welcoming. I had a spicy bread bowl appetizer, Roberto's crab entree, and the black tuxedo pie a la mode dessert. Left with a full stomach and a happy experience. More of a nice memory than just a meal. Go for it.
