This place is way too dark souled for me. However, I did enjoy the boxing squirrels. "My nut!" "No it's mu nut!"

This should definitely be your first stop if you're looking for some art that's a little "different". There's a lot of different things here, but all of it has a spooky edge, that I just love.I was here for Dirty Linen Night and I was able to walk around and really get a feel of the work here. The art is gorgeous and ranges from the strange to the macabre. There was even a diorama of a creepy murder scene, in case that's something that you might want to add to your collection. Anything that you end up purchasing here is sure to be a conversation starter. There is a sweetness to some of the more creepy works, which I can really appreciate.I'm not sure if I'll be purchasing any of the works here for my own home, but I do like what they have going here.

This place was always a "go to" gallery for us when we would come visit. Great selection of local artists, friendly staff, fair pricing. We live here now and were more then a little disturbed to hear stories about artists not getting paid for they're sold art?I hope this is not true.

I couldn't tell you where it stems from, but I love sideshow banners. Like...if I had a kid, they'd have them in their room, thus causing some serious nightmares OR a love of sideshows, who knows. The Red Truck Gallery is always wonderful for a walk-through if you're pinching your pennies or some really unique artwork if you're decking out your digs. They've got a few different artists in there, and my favorite is Magwire (Molly McGuire) who has done some custom work around town for the Bearded Oysters and 610 Stompers, as well as the show American Horror Story depicting them as sideshows in carnival-esque banners. She also has a myriad of local-centric themed ones from Alligator Man, King Crawdaddy, Fighting Uptowners, etc. I'll be saving my doll hairs for one of them someday! There is also more low-key (but still oddly beautiful) other artists in there, and the staff is very sweet, knowledgeable, and welcoming throwing out some fun facts about the artists you're ogling. If you're visiting New Orleans or doing a little local jaunt through the Quarter, hit up Lower Royal!

We have bought great art at Red Truck in the past and had it shipped home to California with no issues. On our recent visit (12/7) we stopped in and bought a print from the guy staffing the store. He informed us that the owners were off at an art show in Miami, but he was keeping shop in their absence. We tried to pay for the print via credit card but he told us he'd stepped on his credit card runner (Square?) and it wasn't working. He told us to Venmo him through his wife's Venmo account, Crescent Flora, so we did, with an extra $5 thrown in for shipping (it was a small print). It's almost two weeks later and we have received nothing. The phone number listed for the gallery is out of service. WTF is up here, Red Truck? How do we either get our art or our money back??

stumbled into the red truck gallery on my most recent trip to NOLA. awesome and unique work in here. very local stuff, and reasonable prices. first off, the carnival theme follows throughout the gallery. the detailed in wood work, doorways and painting on the wall make it a whole experience in itself. the artists here are very experiemental and cheeky, which are 2 styles that i love. the people that run it are very friendly and will gladly talk about the pieces here.

Very cool gallery. We went in here the first day of our visit and we really liked a painting of a dog with a little Catholic symbolism. It was a good price point so we thought on it and came back and bought it. This is the kind of gallery where people of non-one-percenter incomes can actually buy pieces. It is very different but beautiful.

This is my favorite NOLA gallery. Working on paying for one of their pieces and I can't wait to bring it home. They curators are always very knowledgable and interesting; always a very interesting visit and I love checking in to see what they have going on in the gallery.Good for those who love the dust-bowl era, circus-y, slightly morbid curiosa art.
