My favorite part about Red Star is not just the fact that they have so many great vegetarian options, but that they really know how to use produce. There are no rubbery mushrooms, no uncooked greens, no big chunks. Every ingredient is incorporated perfectly, like the thin ribbons of cabbage that come on the general tso's tofu/chicken. Everything I've had is like this!If you go to Red Star to pick up or dine in what you'll find is a very small space, with just two tables. That's typical for takeout restaurants, but what sets Red Star apart is just how clean and organized it is. Absent is the clutter or grime I associate with takeout places, in its place there's clean floors, clear windows, and a wall of real, living plants!The lady who runs the counter is nice. She communicates well, packages the food securely, and is amenable to special requests like "I want an extra 8oz container of general tso's sauce." Service like that is just great.Red Star may not be fancy, but it is the tastiest, most consistent takeout I've ever had. Best of all, it's still cheap! I'll be a loyal customer as long as they're in town.

Food is Great & the owners are very friendly! Highly recommend! People mostly call for takeout but they do have tables and chairs, and the bathroom is very clean, so you can eat there if you like. There is no table service- you have to throw away your own trash, etc, but totally fine. But completely worth it. Their food is cooked fresh and reasonably priced. Definitely the best Chinese food in the area. The Gen Tsao's Chicken with the shrimp fried rice is terrific, as are the egg rolls, which are really nicely cooked & have lovely crispy layers. And their chopsticks are nicer than most other takeout places. They give generous portions and the food is delicious! 5 stars for Red Star!

Couldn't have had lower expectations from this spot given the reviews. However my Kung pao shrimp combo delivered through Uber Eats was not bad! Actually, good! The sauce was very tasty, not too spicy. The fried rice was full of fresh egg, although I would've liked some filler carrots and peas in it. I would order again.

Don't listen to the dated reviews, this place is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in town. Believe me, I have tried many places, but this place is always open and always fills my Chinese cravings. The egg rolls are crispy, the general tso's is super flavorful, and the sweet and sour chicken is out of this world. The people are super kind and welcoming. This place never skimps out on ingredients or portions and fills their takeout boxes to the brim. The inside is very charming, and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a Chinese restaurant late night that is safe and nearby. Highly recommend!

Great fast service. Great food. Good prices. Ambience is ok. If you want really good Chinese food at good prices and full plates go there or order from Grubhub the only delivery service I'll ever use. Ubereats is totally disorganized and Doordash is just a little above them. Grubhub is the one and only and Red Star is worth whatever they might want to charge. Can't miss.
