Well, what this place lacks in feeling safe, it makes up for in cheap as heck gas.I don't know what it is about this gas station, but they seem to be able to keep their gas 5 to 10 cents lower than any other gas station in the area. With that said, the place is a little sketchy. I've been a few times and sometimes the card scanner on some of the pumps won't work and there always seems to be people just lurking around for no good reason. Also, the little "latch" on the pumps, that you hook so that your gas pumps without having to hold it, doesn't work on any of the pumps I've tried, so be warned if touching all over a gas pump is an issue for you. I've never had any of the food, but they have fried chicken if that's your thing.

So, as my burrito caption stated, I had no intentions of buying food here besides a protein bar. The little woman behind the crispy crunchy chicken desk was preparing what looked and smelled like pancakes. I figured something was up and walked over, I used my vast knowledge of Spanish to utter these words. "Pollo?" And she said "no". I was lost after that. She went on to describe the food item but all I heard was eggs and beans. Good 'nuff for me. I had a pretty large breakfast burrito of sorts. The wrap tasted like a pancake or thick crepe. Inside were eggs, beans, and I'm thinking some sort of mayo. I watched the lady prepare food from scratch. What a little gem I found this morning. I really enjoyed the sketchy-ness of it all. Woohoo good Monday!

I liked this store a lot.The Latina cashier and cook were very friendly and helpful.The hot bar was varied, with scrambled eggs and Spanish rice. I said to the cook, "La Cena es grande" - which she appreciated. (There is a very strong Spanish influence around here - and we are headed for Texas and Mexico - and I am working with my Duolingo Spanish app.)I heard a very impressive conversation between the Middle Eastern owner and a black guy who seems to be a business partner of his.There was not a squeegee or water at my pump.Otherwise, a really good operation. I would come back in a second.
