You would never think that this dilapidated house is such a sought after event venue.
Wedding cake!
I've worked at dozens of venues for weddings or parties and this is my #1 choice in the city for your special event.

My husband and I had a destination wedding here and got married here last year (Oct. 29th, 2022). The scene is SO gorgeous, and everything is incredibly picturesque. We booked R&R for the three night package, not just for the day of our wedding, and if I were to do it over, I would do it differently. The things they don't tell you:1. It's VERY loud. The back house (where we stayed), shook when trucks drove past, particularly late at night, and they're driving past ALL THE TIME. So, on the 2 nights I wasn't completely exhausted, I slept VERY POORLY.2. If you book for more than just your wedding day, and are having people stay there with you, you won't be able to utilize all the gorgeous spaces for your pictures, as people will be in the rooms, getting ready and having their stuff all over... So, our pictures weren't quite as widespread over the venue as I would have liked. Bummer.3. The window coverings aren't for blackout, so it can be very light in the rooms as you are trying to sleep. For the $500/night per room we paid, one of our guests who had a child, between the light in the room and the noise, had to move out after the first night and get a hotel. BUMMER.So, if I were doing it all over again, I would have the party there, but would retreat back to a different Airbnb, or house, to live the rest of the trip.

What a magical setting for a wedding! Unusual and quirky, it is still a very cool spot for a traditional ceremony! Certainly a unique NOLA experience for out of towners! Very authentic!

SIMPLY DIVINE!!!!!Here for a wedding, this place is the bomb.com. Beautiful inside and outside. Deon & Shaquita's Wedding, Dec 8, 2017; the day it LITERALLY SNOWED in New Orleans, only added to the memories of this auspicious occasion. The venue attendees quickly accommodated for the weather, by way of outdoor heating and covered tents. The cobblestone/brick flooring outside is divine and adds to the over all mystique of the venue. The pond sets the place off to a greater degree. Inside, the upstairs and downstairs decor is astounding. The other areas on the grounds are just as phenomenal. While the food was provided by an outside caterer, it added to the sheer elegance of the event. Great place for a grandiose party, as it'll fit the bill.

WOW. JUST, WOW.I don't really have the right words to describe how magical this venue is. As soon as you walk through the doors, you take a step back in time. The beautifully weathered buildings stand in front of you with delicately covered with foliage and original details. The inside of each building is equally as jaw dropping with era piece furniture and what seems to be original window treatments. Everything in this venue is perfect down to the hardware in the bathrooms. The lay out is equally as fantastic, giving you nice separations between areas without making your event feel disconnected. The pool right in the middle, makes for the most fantastic pictures. Honestly, if you are thinking about having your wedding here and don't, you are a fool. There is NOTHING about this venue that isn't divine. I could only be so lucky to be able to attend another event here.

In my opinion this is the #1 place in NOLA for weddings!!This place is just unique. No other city has the architecture that NOLA has and Race & Religious fits right in with the city. It was built in the 1800's and is the perfect place to wow your guests at your special event. Guests from other states come here and are amazed. They all comment how they have never been to a wedding venue like this. I don't even have to write anymore. Just look at the pictures. The pictures don't lie....Race & Religious is a beautiful and unique place!BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE!!!

Went here the other day for a company event and could not get enough of the venue! Beautifully laid out with magazine worthy interior decor. It has multiple rooms around a pool and courtyard area perfect for walking around to network while grabbing food in the different rooms. The staff were all friendly and inviting.. Seems like the perfect spot for special events like wedding or company after parties. Overall a hip shabby chic vibe throughout the place, wish we had one of these near home!Only reason I'm not giving it a 5 stars is because although the food was well presented it wasn't to my taste. Other than that it really is a special place to hold an event, highly recommend.

This is one of my favorite locations in the city! The decor is lovely and has a "retro, 50's, old New Orleans feel". This would be the ultimate place to hold a wedding and/or reception because it has that Southern charm that you want in a New Orleans wedding. The house has three different floors and a separate quarters, so that guests can stay on the premises. It has all the amenities of home and the courtyard is lovely with a nice pool.I was fortunate enough to be photographed for New Orleans Weddings Magazine in this house and you can't ask for better ambiance for an "old fashioned" type of wedding or party.

The pictures of this place speak for themselves and are 100% accurate! If you want a true New Orleans feel with out being too touristy, then this place is perfect! We wanted a place we could walk right into and get married. You don't have to decorate it with anything and it's still beautiful....perfect for a smaller budget because of that aspect. It's also one of the few venues in New Orleans where you can bring in outside catering and liquor. A lot of great restaurants in New Orleans do outside catering and can be a lot cheaper than an "all inclusive" venue, and you get more of what you want. It was perfect for the type of wedding we wanted! When I first booked the venue (a year and a half from the wedding), the management there was tough to get a hold of and very slow to get back to me. As time went on, they hired new people and things have definitely gotten better. I do wish they were a little more organized, even with the new management. There was more confusion close to my wedding date than I would've liked. I also was upset that I was never given the chance to have rehearsal. There was a wedding the day before mine that booked the entire weekend (3 days), and I was never able to get into the venue with my planner or wedding party. I understand why they can't say no to something like that, but it definitely would have made a difference and put a little ease on me that day. Nobody knew where they were going or what to do and set up. Very unfair (and I hate to use that word)!Other than minor details, that I know they are working through, it's an amazing, memorable place to get married! If you can snag a date here, take it!!
