Clean theater and so glad it was empty when we went to watch a movie! Love that it's small and right in the mall.

My first time back to this theater since it's under new management of the famed and much-loved Uptown Prytania Theater. This place, when it was Theaters at Canal Place, used to get a bad rap, but I loved it. Where else in town were you going to get truffle popcorn, good cocktails and wine, an entire meal if you so desired, delivered right to your seat in the theater? Service was always so nice, too, and they always tried to be as unobtrusive as possible. But out with the old and in with the new (old... Prytania Theater is of course a venerable institution). It was OK. You have to order at the counter and the bar that's off to the side of it, where I encountered a nice enough bartender that was kindly asking the two kids who were sitting there to leave because they couldn't legally be there. I purchased a 16 dollar can of bubbly that was nice and cold but I can't deny the sticker shock. We were told by the security guy to buy our tickets at the ticket window, just as whomever was working it, decided to leave. So back to the concession stand, where we bought the tickets, popcorn and a soda. It kind of bothers me that every receipt you are handed has a tip line. So now we're at tipping on concessions and tickets too? It feels weird. Our theater was clean enough. It was mostly empty but for a few questionable types that we weren't sure if they were homeless or not. No one bothered us but a 60 dollar night at the movies (tickets, medium popcorn, medium soda and can of bubbly) in this type of situation doesn't make me want to make visiting here a regular occurrence.

It's the 3rd reinvention of the Canal Place movies. Don't worry the bar is still there! But they stopped the in theater service which was distracting and blocked my view.Prytania Theatres (still closed in the OG location thanks to Ida damage) took over running this cinema late last year. They are offering a mix of first run and classic movies, plus special events. A friend and I checked out a Hard Day's Night last week and both the audio and the video were great. The theaters were clean and the seats are still comfy. We were asked for either a negative test or our vaccine card before entering. Masks were not required but were preferred. And tickets may be ordered online. OH! And since the parking garage has been taken over by one of the private companies around town, if you pay at the theater, then it's $4 for 4 hours, just make sure you know your license plate. That's a big discount from the app.

I really used to love this theater; now, not so much. I remember when there was an option to pick seats, press a button at your seat and your meal would be brought out to you. The bar used to be nice.. now it's just basic. The whole place is just basic-- there are no longer meals to purchase, only hot dogs, nachos (if it's in stock) or popcorn. Very minimal options to choose from now. The place needs to be updated. The chairs are old from previous management.. the buttons are still there which again no longer work. I can say the bartender was very nice, he was actually the gentleman at the post when you first arrive checking the tickets. The staff in the snack area seemed a little lost. This used to be such a great place to go and watch a movie. I hate that it's fallen off, especially being in the location it's in.

Very affordable, the movie was nice but the theater had nats flying all throughout the theater to the point where I couldn't even enjoy the movie. As time went on, it progressively got worse,'first I saw one nat, then three, then plenty.'towards the end it seemed like the last fly I saw wasn't even a nat it was huge. I had to leave the movie 30 minutes early because of it.

After not visiting a cinema for a few years, Top Gun Maverick motivated us to walk 20 minutes in the sweltering heat for 90 minutes of big screen excitement in the AC. Thrilled to have this cinema reopened under the Prytania brand, but it wasn't quite the same experience that I remembered from my last visit when AMC had it. I was happy to find that I could still get a beer or cocktail, but gone was the truffle popcorn and gourmet food offerings. I settled for a Canebrake and regular buttered movie popcorn before heading into the auditorium a few minutes before the posted 4pm start time, only to find that they had started it early for some reason, so no previews for me. The seating is super comfortable, picture quality fine, and the sound was okay, but nothing special. Great movie and the AC was blowing so I got my $13 worth of afternoon entertainment.

All the bells and whistles have gone, but there's still a bar (wasn't open for the noon showing) fear not. There isn't a box office. You buy your tickets at the concession stand. That arrangement had quite a few of us confused. After grabbing my ticket and an overpriced soda (yes i still smuggled gummy bears in) I found a seat and settled in. These are fancy squishy over sized chairs and I laughed when during the previews I could hear someone snoring. A nap before the movie? no problem, they got ya. Mostly a mature audience at this film, but I still managed to laugh, gasp and cry. I left feeling satisfied with my solo movie experience, maybe I'll try that again sometime.

I haven't been here since the previous theater was open until today. They don't have the food options they once did, and the employees seem a bit apathetic. Everything was clean inside. I have no real complaints about this theater. Some of the seats could use some reupholstering, it seems a bit to be showing its age. A good revitalization could be in order.

This is a great place to take a break from all the drinking and eating on Bourbon Street. We stopped here for a movie after we had to check out of our hotel with our flight not leaving until 9:30 PM. The chairs are comfortable to sit in, but they don't recline. They rock like a rocking chair would. I had read from other reviews to bring a sweatshirt, and we are glad we did. They don't do assigned seating and the seating area is pretty flat. The movie we went to was pretty empty so it wasn't an issue but if the theater was full, you would definitely be looking at the back of a lot of peoples heads. the theater is located at the Canal Place Mall, which is convenient. My husband enjoyed his popcorn. If you want butter, they have to put it on for you. There is a bar at the front of the theater that has happy hour. I think it was 3 PM to 5 PM. It was closed while we were there. their website advertises six dollar movies on Tuesday but that promotion must be suspended. I checked prices the Tuesday we were in town and they seemed to be the normal prices. We were there for a matinee show, which was only eight dollars a person.
