Poppy's Ice Cream

We were close to the house and had a sweet treat craving. We stopped by sweet tooth to try some great ice cream and my little one wasn't disappointed. They had a good selection at a fair price.

Very cute ice cream shop located in Chalmette, Louisiana. Recently brought my little cousin here for an after school treat and was impressed. He got a cotton candy 2 scoop cone, while I got a shake. You can get a shake with any of the ice cream flavors, and they have a lot to pick from. We both were pleased with our selections. Poppy's has plenty of ice cream flavors and they let you sample before you buy, that's always a plus! Very good customer service and reasonable prices for an ice cream shop. Will definitely be back when I have a sweet tooth. Located in a strip mall so plenty of parking.

I come here often. Great ice cream and service. The waffle cones are very good. One scoop is plenty for the waffle cone but 2 is available.

Delicious ice cream I'd prefer the drive-thru it's faster service if you are just looking to get in and out.

I've been passing this place back and forth for a few months now and I finally gave them a try tonight. I was in an ice cream mood and I wanted something other than what McDonald's had to offer. Upon entering the store I noticed it was very clean which is a plus, however once I stepped in the store, was fully in, and approached the counter to check out the ice cream flavors, I was not greeted by any of the two employees that were working. We made eye contact and still no "Hi, how may I help you? Let me know if you'd like to try anything". Nothing. I felt awkward standing there as she just waited for me to ask a question. I scanned the flavors and requested to sample two of them. The flavors were very tasty, so that made up for this visit. As I was checking out, a small group of teens came in (assuming that one of the employees knew them) and they received all the smiles and "Heyyy"s. Nonetheless the ice cream was great. I had the salted butter bourbon (i think), double scoop cone, which was very plentiful. A warm greeting can go a long way. I'm really big on that when I enter stores because that lets me know the employee has acknowledged me and is willing to help. I found it to be very rude. Luckily this review was Saved by the Butter Bourbon.

Wonderful food and service. I would eat here all the time if I wouldn't get fat. Lol. Absolutely lovely place. Recommend.

Cute little ice cream shop in the parish! Not as fancy or fun as some of the ones in the city but the ice cream is tasty and the staff is friendly. I am grateful to have this place as an option and it is hands down better than chains like Baskin Robbins.
