An awesome hometown, local restaurant in Southdowns! I love this location... very clean, plenty of parking, and great food.We came on a Wednesday night around 6, and we sat right down at one of the high top tables. This gives sports bar vibes with tons of tvs, a bar you can sit at, jerseys on the wall, and booth/high top/table seating. The waitress was fine, she just didn't tell us about the specials on the back of the menu. We hadn't been here before so we didn't know, but we likely would have changed our order for the specials. Anyways, I got the dozens oysters, and they were delicious! My mom got the burger and my dad got the gumbo with tuna appetizer.The food was delicious and came out very fast! Will be back!!

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy Phil's very much. The food felt more touristy and less home style to me. My table had chargrilled oysters and I had a seafood pasta. Again, just meh, nothing to write home about.Our waitress was nice-ish but everything still felt kinda off. Definitely not a place I'd rush back to by any means.

Had my first meal at Phil's Oyster Bar and it was fantastic! As a fan of fried fish, I ordered the half serving of the fried catfish strips and immediately wished I'd gone for the full portion. The fish was perfectly fried, well-seasoned, and incredibly fresh. I swapped the fries for onion rings and they were crispy and delicious. I also tried the boudin balls as a starter and they were good. Crispy on the outside with a nice spicy kick inside. The remoulade sauce that came with them was great. I really enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere here. Overall great food and great service. Definitely coming back!

It was so busy and we sat at the bar. Bartender was great and hustling and bustling. The crab au gratin was just okay. The oysters were on point and delicious. The crawfish cheesecake was absolutely amazing. It's served warm and it's savory. It reminded me of a quiche but it didn't involve eggs. It's in a strip mall and it's kind of like a cafe with a bar.

The food is very good. I've not had a dish that wasn't up to par. Very consistent. The crawfish spoonbread is a must try. The service is friendly and timely. The ambiance is what you would expect at a casual, busy, and popular restaurant. Not a place to go if you want low lights and a romantic vibe.

Went here today with my husband. We went by accident. Was supposed to go to southern pearl oyster bar. But anyway we stayed here. Big mistake. Our oyster s were burnt. My shrimp and crab Alfredo was so bland I thought I got a kids meal by mistake. My husband s drinks was very weak not even sure it had alcohol. My husband's plate looked like it was for a kid. He had some fried catfish with crawfish etoufee on it. It was so bland. Me and my husband said we not going back. Also our waitress was not taking care of us. Better places to eat than this. I would rather eat chicken salad chic.

We had a private party (rehersal dinner) of approximately 30 people on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025. Everything was perfect, from the servers to the food and the drinks. We are visiting from California and just stumbled upon Phil's. The service was amazing as was the food. We just happened upon the $1 raw oyster night, something unheard of in California and the oysters were clean, fresh, big and delicious. The soft shell crab sandwich was flavorful and the crawfish spoonbread was out of this world delicious. The manager was friendly and made for a welcome visit, we can't wait to be back again.

Not impressed and the oysters weren't flavorful but very clean & big Customer service was nice, it took a while to get our food although they didn't seem super busy we ordered 2 types of oysters and shrimp Caesar salad with grilled shrimp Reg chargrilled Nola style chargrilled Portion size were nice Reg chargrilled oysters sauce wasn't that flavorful Nola style chargrilled was very good - highly recommend grilled shrimp salad with caesar dressing- dressing wasn't anything special
