Peewee’s Crabcakes

Food was incredible, so delicious! I'm from Los Angeles and didn't know of many or any great food spots around so I went with the reviews and pictures on their Yelp. Very glad I did!

It maybe my fault. I have seen Peewee's everywhere. I finally stopped to try them out. I struggled with ordering, I was on a phone call and my wife of 23 years showed me the online menu, everything looked delicious. I settled for Crawfish Bread. Now to my fault part/confession. I didn't know what time they opened or closed. Well we arrived there at maybe 7:30pm-ISH. THEY CLOSE at 8pm. (I was dat guy) I'm sorry. Truly I am. Order was ready after 8pm. Not a problem to me. I appreciate the effort they went through to feed me seymore. When the crawfish bread came, it was beautiful. Very bedazzled, sauce zigzag lines, colors and that real NO kinda vibe. The bread is a Crustini ( very thin piece of bread sliced from French bread ) I was very disappointed. The flavor tasted like Raw tomato Sauce (sounds gross I know) The temperature was cold. All I tasted was some raw tomato and cheese. I couldn't tell if it was Rico's ( don't act like you don't eat Rico's ) wait is that real cheese? lol. The ambiance was nice, looks very clean and the staff did serve me even though I showed up Almost at Closing Time. ( good song ) I will try the same dish again when my check comes on the 1st. We will c. Don't judge them off of my experience. You can't have that many locations in New Orleans and surrounding area with a review like this. The food is great if uber heavy. The flavors are great. The prices are a bit high. Last time we walked in, ordered, and came back in 25 min and it was almost ready.This time I called it in, was told 20 min, we go in a taxi at the airport, arrived in 30 min, and waited almost 30 more (IN A TAXI METER RUNNING) and got attitude when asking if it was done. Attitude when it was handed over minus the $20 cake slices we ordered. Minus the fries we ordered. Th quality is good but the service is poor.All in all it took over an hour for them to produce 2 crab cake dinners and 2 crab cake apps. The cake never got done. There was ONE other person waiting it was not dinner time yet.

So good! Leave the touristy areas & try this place! There is nowhere to wait for food in the restaurant or eat. This is not a sit down place but it is so good! Get it & go eat it somewhere else. You won't regret ordering this food!

This is a new location for Peewee but still great food. I had a little of everything from the other place on MLK. Today, I tried the charbroiled oysters. They were delicious and $15 for a dozen. Get you some. He is known for crabcakes but has a big menu. Once things open back up, I would love to throw a private dinner party here.

The food was delicious! I've eaten a lot of crab cakes but the was the best by far. I got two stuffed crabs, the Alfredo and rice. I didn't finish it all just because it was so much, which isn't a bad thing, but if I could have fit the rest in...I would have. I tried a couple of different spots in Nola like higher end places, cafes, corner stores but peewees was the one place I know I will definitely want to come back to, to eat. I forgot to get a pic of my food cause it was so good. Definitely would recommend to anyone going to Nola.

Peewees is cool to me. The portions is what keeps me coming back. Certainly, you get your money worth it. The taste is okay, nothing to die for.

Food was delicious. Portions are a nice size. We got our food to go. Flavorful and seasoned to perfection, the oyster trio, the fried soft shell crab, and the lumpcr

Be careful as this place I believe only has one sit down location. The one by my house is carry out only. The food is really really good, takes a little bit but it's worth it. I wish they would put a sit down facility in the Garden District or Irish channel area.

Horrible service asked for items took forever nor friendly service, we are from Los Angeles and we read about this place on yelp I won't come back
