Sadly, I read that Palm Court closed last year. I will miss the memories of Palm Court as an oasis for me as a college student sinking into a love of jazz, and as a newlywed who went there for my first dinner with my spouse as a wedded (for almost 20 years now!) couple.

Palm Court Jazz Cafe will close permanently after the last show on June 2nd, 2024.I've loved the Palm Court since the 90's. I'm no regular, but I go when I want to reminisce about New Orleans' past, or to get people hooked on the City. Palm Court opening so soon after Katrina hit made me imagine it would always be there. I can't imagine it being gone for good.

I'm always looking for great Jazz places to direct my friends who visit New Orleans. After Preservation Hall, this would be my next choice. Located in the French Quarter, this is a very nice Jazz cafe. A $10 cover charge and reservations are required. They have a full dinner menu and a full bar. The Jazz Band is a house band of excellent local musicians ... even some recent graduates of the NO School for the Arts Tables for two and accommodations for larger groups. Wait staff is attentive and friendly. Palm Court is a pleasant break from the seedier Bourbon Street establishments. If you're looking for a more upscale and family friendly experience, this is your place!

A great experience listening to live jazz while eating dinner. The atmosphere was relaxed and jazz musicians were talented. Got the Creole pasta which was delicious and filling. They are generous with their portions. Our friends got the steak. For a cover charge $10 and price of dinner, this was a great experience. The staff were nice and the jazz ensemble played some classic songs.

What a fun night filled with amazing drinks, tasty food and awesome music. It is like a jazz superclub. A little pricey, but worth it. Started with cocktails and the cajun martini was unique and I enjoyed it ... dirty martini with spice & pickled green bean. The fried oysters were perfect! My bf had creole beef and said it was full of flavor. I had crawfish in a spicy cream sauce, just right rice and broccoli. We passed on dessert. The staff is wonderful. The music is quintessential Nola jazz. Make a reservation ... treat yo self ... enjoy!!

Music: 5 starsFood: 3 stars or lessThe menu is quite limited, prices fairly high, which I wouldn't mind if the food was good. Unfortunately, last time I went with a group of friends, most of us were disappointed with our plates.I ordered the crab cake and was a little surprised to see something like a tennis ball on my plate. While the taste wasn't bad, it didn't have any of the crispiness you get with a flatter shape. They also were out of one of the three desserts on the menu, no bread pudding that night (just ice cream or chocolate mousse). My friend's salad was so sad looking, I felt bad for her.A big disappointment for the food, but the music is still great.

One of the best jazz clubs in the French Quarter. The cover charge is only $10 which directly goes to the band. Please make sure to ask the waiters if photography is allowed the day you go because some bands do not like that. We happened to come across a band that did not mind photography, which was awesome as I got to take some great pictures and videos of the music and ambience that night. Our waiter, John, was the sweetest guy ever. He was so attentive. I asked for a side of mashed potatoes without even knowing if it was available, and he did whatever he could do to get me that. The food is really good. I got the creole pasta and my boyfriend got a crab cake. Both were delicious, except my pasta was immensely oily. My only thing was that there weren't many options in the dinner menu. Finally, we got the chocolate mousse. Based on the size and the bitterness, it definitely wasn't worth $10 but all in all a great night and me and my boyfriend definitely enjoyed this place. The neighborhood is slightly sketchy at night and it is a long walk from Bourbon Street, but definitely recommend this joint.

We had such an amazing night here! This place is quintessential New Orleans Jazz, and if you want a relaxing evening of wonderful music to accompany a fabulous dinner, this is exactly what you're looking for. We saw Mark Braud and his band here on a Sunday evening, and they were simply wonderful! They all clearly enjoy performing, and every one of them is immensely talented and yet down to earth. They put on a superb show that made our night. Not to be outdone however, the kitchen here works miracles. My partner had an absolutely perfect plate of Cajun creole pasta, with just the right amount of everything. When we ordered, I told our server that I was having a hard time choosing between the chicken and the pork chop, and she steered me to the pork - I'm so grateful she did! The pork chop was perfectly cooked and super juicy, and the white wine and mushroom sauce it was served with was absolutely to die for. My partners favorite dish is Cajun Creole pasta, and when he tried the pork chop, he almost wished he'd ordered it instead! Our server and the other wait staff were all friendly and helpful, and were nearby anytime we needed anything, and kept our drinks coming through the evening. Nina, the lovely owner of the Palm Court, was the perfect host, checking in with everyone and getting them involved, playing MC with the mic in between sets, and dancing around and generally enjoying herself with everyone. This lady is a gem!The atmosphere here is exactly what we wanted from our visit. Thank you all for a wonderful New Orleans experience. We'll be back with friends and family on our next visit!
