Had an amazing time, booked a swamp/ plantation tour it picked us up from the hotel at 8:45am in a sprinter van. The van had already picked up a couple then stopped for us and then picked up a family. Our driver Maria was great had a lot of history to share with us on the road. We had the swamp tour first would recommend a light jacket if it's not a super warm day. Our guide on the boat Nick was also great, gave a lot of good in-site , we took a pontoon boat instead of the airboat and they are both good options there was just a small area we couldn't get into bc of the boats size. Lunch is at the dock where you got the boat you are given 30 minutes to eat which is not a lot of time versus the portion size. If you do want to order something to go order it either before you go in the swamp tour if you get there early or right as you walk in for lunch, someone on our group wanted to take food to go and was not able to because there was not enough time. We went to the Whitney plantation that was a self guided tour we had about 2 hours to do this which is doable but don't take too long in any particular area. Whitney soli focuses on slavery. Our guide let us know the Laura focuses on both the family and slavery so that could have been a good option too. The Whitney was very informative and definitely worth it. The car ride really is the longest part of the tour but like I mentioned the driver will point out different interesting things along the way. Most of our group fell asleep on the way back and we all were looking at where to eat right after as you eat around 11:30 and we got back around 4:16.

Review #1054I had Jacques as my driver. Here is how our tour (Laura Plantation and Oak Alley Plantation Tour 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, $95.4/person) breaks down:7:35 AM - pick up from Sheraton on Canal Street (actual pick up was at 7:30 AM, as the driver was a few minutes early, but so were we)8 AM - finish picking up all passengers in the city8:45 AM - brief plantation stops (photo ops) on the way there to Oak Alley Plantation9:20 AM - arrive at the main entrance, tickets distribution, and bathroom break outside of the Oak Alley gate (small stalls with running water/soap, but it is clean)9:30 AM - wait in line for the tour9:40 AM - tour of the Oak plantation (30 mins official tour by the plantation)10:55 AM - meet up at the other parking lot for pick up11:10 AM - arrive at Laura Plantation and bathroom break first (again small stalls with running water/soap but clean)11:20 AM - official tour for Laura begins12:30 PM - tour concludes, and we go straight to the bus12:40 PM - pick up passengers from Evergreen Plantation and drive back to the city1:30 pm PM - get dropped off/picked up (by a different driver) at a gas station and the rest of the bus proceeds to the lunch/swamp tour2:10 PM PM - get dropped off at our hotelWhen I researched plantation tours, I wanted to visit at least two but didn't want to take up my whole day for it. This trip was the best in terms of the trip arrangement and value. So I opted for the half day tour with Old River. It is not cheap but definitely worth it!

We choose to tour both Evergreen and Oak Alley. It was clear from the outset that today's adventure would be memorable and worthwhile. Jacque promptly picked us up on time and communicated with us the day before to confirm and see if we had any questions. We started our day at Oak Alley, and while beautiful it wasn't the most informative and in depth experience. The inability to take photos inside added a further air of distance to the experience. The highlight was truly Evergreen. A small group of only 10 others on the tour lent itself to an intimate and informative experience. Being able to wander the grounds and take the time to connect with the history of the plantation on a unique level was the highlight of our day. Hundreds of pictures later we left having a less commercialized and tourist-y view of the history of the area. Thought the day, Jacque kept the drive interesting, gave clear guidance, and directed our experiences with a personal touch. Culminating our tour day, Jacque even dropped us off directly at our restaurant. What service and attention to detail. This tour is a VIP experience without a VIP price.

Great tour, did oak alley and laura. Both had great guides. Definitely our favorite was Al at Laura!!! He was great!Jacques our bus driver was great too. However dont sit in very back of bus. We were shaken badly on way back, not sure if it was the roads over bridges or what. Headache plus.Other than that was a great tour.

We had a great time on our tour. My husband and I did the afternoon Laura and soak Alley Plantations tour with Jacques. Jacques was like a living history book! We learned so much, and he took us all along River Road showing us all of the plantations, going out of his way for extra photos. The day seemed expensive initially, but after looking at how much the admissions were to the plantations plus the Drive put there, this was actually reasonable considering how much information we received from Jacques. Definitely a great way to spend the day in New Orleans.

The actual tour was too quick and did not provide enough information. The Laura Plantation tour was a much more informative experience. Oak plantation was a gorgeous property with lot of other stuff to look at.

Excellent! I would definitely recommend booking your tour with them. From pick up to drop off, we enjoyed our 8-5pm day trip. Our tour guide, Jacques, was excellent, informational, funny and just down to earth guy. We did Oak & Laura plantation tour and swamp. Tour was well organized, not a minute wasted. Laura tour was a bit boring but mainly due to too many historical details. Swamp was great also, especially for kids, so was the lunch! Thanks a lot! My only suggestion, keep a cooler with cold bottled water since it's a full day tour and it's super hot out, even though bus had a light air conditioner.

We toured Oak Alley & Laura plantations. Both very different, both amazing! Tour guides: Ann (Oak Valley) & Al (Laura) - outstanding! Both know the history and are passionate about what they do. We booked 2 days ago and it's probably the coldest day ever in NOLA but it was well worth it!! We will visit again when it's warmer and do another tour with this company. Madison was our main tour guide/driver and was wonderful! Very knowledgeable and funny!!! We enjoyed every minute!!!
