I am SO happy to finally have an AYCE sushi restaurant on my side of town. This place does not disappoint. I only took a few pictures but everything I have eaten here is delicious. The salmon hand roll is my go to for starting off. The salmon tower is one of my favorite things as well. Hibachi garlic butter shrimp is a must. Having fresh, quality sushi for $19.95 at lunch and $29.95 dinner is unheard of so I am super excited to have ohayo in town!

Wanted to like this place, but the service we have gotten is Kitchen Nightmares level bad. The first time our waiter had one of his friends at a table by us and completely ignored us for most of the meal. We had to ask for our drinks at least 5 times. Orders were wrong. Miso soup was the last thing to come out. We didn't get refills. Couldn't put in orders because he was too busy talking to his high school looking friend. Mind you the food we got was was a mixed bag of good to terrible. The spicy tuna here is to be avoided. Nasty stuffWe decided to give them another chance for lunch after some months. The first time we went we assumed it would get better because it was still a new-ish restaurant. Things were arguably worse this time. For starters, someone at our table tried to get a regular menu as they did not want ayce, which for some reason our waitress couldn't understand. We ended up having to find the menu online. Once we ordered though, it started off fine. We got some of our kitchen appetizers and nigiri in a decent amount of time. This is where it went down bigly. Looking at my Tuna nigiri, the flesh appeared torn up on one of the pieces. Clear sign that either the fish wasn't high quality or the chef did a poor job cutting it. I thought it was ok, don't expect the highest quality from ayce, but when I took a bite my nigiri had some hard rice. I have virtually never had sushi where the rice wasn't at least soft. Straight up unacceptable. Someone at our table had hibachi salmon, which came out as literally a coin sized piece of salmon that was around a quarter of an inch thick. It was comical. Someone at our table ordered edamame, of course it came with no salt on it. Then came the wait. Our waitress dissapeared for around 40 minutes. We had ordered 6 sushi rolls. 3 of the rolls came out at this point. The rolls were ok, but our other 3 rolls did not come. Our waitress came back 20 minutes later and asked if we needed anything else. Yes, the rest of our sushi. She disappeared for another 20 minutes. When she got back she asked if we need anything again. Again, the sushi we ordered. She then proceeded to show me her tablet and said she put the order in and just doesn't know what's going on, and implied that we should cancel the rest of it because it had been so long. I said we want our food, Ihad only had a few pieces of nigiri and 1 sushi roll at this point. She said she put in the order again and I had to ask her to please make sure it comes out quickly. We ended up getting that order in a reasonable amount of time. Mind you through this 2 hour ordeal, our person who ordered something off the menu ate within the first 20 minutes of the meal and had to sit with us for the rest of the 2 hours waiting on our horrid service. We also never got the chop stick cheaters we asked for at the beginning of the meal. Never got the full menu we asked for at the beginning of the meal. Did not get asked if we needed refills once in 2 hours. The tables around us were clearly having a similar experience. One of them was even still getting food brought out to it while they were actively leaving. It was bad enough that I would question things outside of the service, such as the conditions of the kitchen and food storage. The staff still seems untrained after months. Whoever is managing this place does not seem like they know what they are doing, and as such I would maybe feel unsafe eating food from here again. Gave them a chance to redeem themselves but this one is a big avoid for me.

Food: Really good. Our family of four all enjoyed it and agreed that it was possibly/probably superior to our other Japanese favorites in the region. Yaki yudon the best I've ever had. Absolutely fresh tuna and beautiful sushi. Venue: Love it. Brand new dining room, great decor with the bamboo and lighting. Easy parking for dinner because the other adjacent businesses are closed during those hours. Here's the bad part: the service. As I write this, it's only been open a few weeks so we want to give them a chance to get the kinks out. But this was a debacle. I think our particular server might have been literally a first-job young gent.We placed the usual drink orders shortly after seating. All good, a few minutes later we placed the full order - cocktails, appetizers, entrees, everything. So far so good.About five minutes later a nice person out of the kitchen arrived with my dinner entree. My family is jealous - I've got food and they have nothing. "Yes mam that's for me right here." There are no missing details here: my entree has arrived before everything - MY entree.Next was a different person out of the kitchen with one of our appetizers (edamame). And a few minutes after that yet another person from the kitchen with the other appetizer (spring rolls). Then my wife's side dish - fried rice (she still hasn't gotten her entree). At this point, I've finished my entree and my cocktail is nowhere. The server hasn't been back to the table. It's like the kitchen tried to bring everything we ordered to us as soon as possible, one dish at a time.A LOT later: "Can I get you anything?" Yeah man, we need our cocktails and, you know, dinner. That stuff we asked for like what dad got and nobody else.Spare you the remaining details: the last thing brought to our table was my salad. I sipped the final drops of my (delicious!) lychee martini and then finished my salad, my final delivery.Whoever is buying the fish and cooking, they're great. Food is great. Hopefully the place survives long enough to get the kinks worked out and bring service up to par.I'll go back because the food was so good. Once.

So happy to have another AYCE sushi place in the Baton Rouge area! The restaurant is super spacious with various seatings (booths / tables). I went for the AYCE dinner for $29.95. Service is ok, they just opened so I know there's trial and error and a lot to learn from. Food came out fairly quickly for dinner time! We really enjoyed the appetizers and the sashimi tasted so fresh!! Special sushi rolls were pretty good for an ayce type restaurant - you get what you pay for type of quality. Not pictured but the udon noodles are super flavorful! Definitely a must try!

The sushi rolls are a bit on the small side but I find that typical for most places that offer all you can eat menu service. For the price of the AYCE, you can't beat it. I started off with a house salad with the ginger dressing which is fresh and light. The nigiri is nice and the rolls tasty. The hibachi came out hot and delicious with a good enough portion where you won't get too full and feel bad because you couldn't finish it because you wanted more sushi like I did. I ate a little bit more and left feeling very satisfied but not uncomfortably full. Service was excellent and very attentive. Everything came out in a timely fashion except for the hibachi which I assume was because it's made to order like everything else. My server, Jasmine, was really great. Ambiance is nice and not too noisy and decorated nicely.

My husband and I decided to try Ohayo Sushi for lunch on a Monday. We're big fans of AYCE sushi restaurants and we were excited to have one closer to home. Despite being fairly busy, the service was excellent, and our orders arrived surprisingly fast! The menu had plenty of dishes to choose from. Two of my favorites were the tempura jalapeños and the crab puffs, they were delicious! Overall, the food was great, the restaurant was clean, and the staff was on top of their game. We'll definitely be back!

Great service. Jennifer was a very attentive server and the hostess team was very accommodating. Food is amazing. I believe this may replace Sushi Masa as my favorite sushi restaurant. The ambiance is gorgeous and very peaceful.

I think the staff is green but they tried soHard and it will get there. No complaints. Very open decor with the lighter colors. Was much darker when it was TJ ribs. Got the ayce and loved most everything. Favorite was the sumo roll and kani salad. Worst was the Tokyo roll and fried rice. Had many other things that were good. Overall it's was 90/10 as far as taste. Will be back to get what we liked and try other things.

Went on Sunday for AYCE lunch (yes they do offer lunch menu prices on Sunday) and everything was great. The stuffed fried jalapeños were unexpectedly amazing. Our server, Cody, was awesome as well. We'll definitely be regulars here.
