Off the Hook

I ordered a grilled shrimp wrap last night February 25th , it had a total of 4 shrimp and so much wrap and lettuce . I could have walked to the china gardens and got better food than I got yesterday . I went there at about 4:45pm and had to wait in car line about 15 mins to get this wasted wrap . I gave so much of the thick wrap to the birds. This place has been in Thibodaux for a long time now. I never went there before because I heard lots of people talk good and bad. I wanted to try myself . THE only thing that most people say is their gumbo is the only good thing there .. Well all I have to say you got my money once but never ever again. could have gone to popeyes and got fried shrimp that would have been more shrimp for less money . This place is a rip off ......

I can only speak of my experience at the drive-through. It was the first and only time I will order anything. I selected the grilled shrimp wrap. It was about 3 in the afternoon, not busy. I was the only car in line. I was looking forward to trying my first meal at Off the Hook. The girl at the window was indifferent and barely spoke. There's not much southern hospitality there. The worst part was taking the first bite and getting a mouth full of tiny ice cold, never saw a grill, raw, zero seasoned shrimp. It was as if they poured them out of a bag barely dried them off and wrapped them up. I couldn't get it out of my mouth fast enough. What a waste of money!

Too little food for increased price! Taste was good! Will continue to avoid patronizing restaurants until improvement noted.

Let me say the food was very good. But, the amount of food does not agree with the price. Would I buy again no!!! Food costs too much for kid plates. I ordered the Shrimp & Fish Platter.5 Shrimp & 1 Fish cut in strips, 10-12 French Fries, 2 Hush Puppies, 1 Fountain drink almost $18.58I also ordered fried 3-5 pieced bread pudding bites/T-Boy's for $3.27I listened to my sister (you have to try their T-Boy; they are so good taste like French toast) nope, just bread pudding, which I do not like..So again, the food has a great flavor, but if you are looking for a large quantity, you will have to purchase extra food.

Eat here all the time. I know it looks like fast food, but their gumbo is better than most sit-down Cajun restaurants. Tastes just like homemade. They got good salads, grilled wraps and grilled chicken strips for when you're looking to eat healthy too. A little over priced as of late, but not too bad considering the consistency and quality. Just wish they would bring back the smothered green beans.

Fast Food with Restaurant PricingFirstly, my experience albeit brief was a pleasure with the staff and the location was nice and clean.What really got me was the pricing. $8.99 for a 6" shrimp poboy made me double take. No, this wasn't a combo, JUST the poboy. All said, my total was just shy of $18 for a 6" poboy, which I got the combo and upgraded to have my fries be swamp fries. While food was fast, aromatic and seasoned well, the freshness was a concern. The etouffee that was poured over the fries contained 3 crawfish tails, which were tiny and gray. The shrimp were a slight bit sour, not horrible by any stretch but far from fresh.I don't know what to think. To the uninitiated, this might be fantastic to get some "cajun" food. However, for anyone from various parts of Louisiana, its almost offensive the pricing. There's definitely more flavor than your typical fast food establishment, however I don't feel like the bang for the buck is there when can go to a more formalized authentic restaurant and get more for less.

The shrimp were cooked just right. The passion lemonade meets the mark for a great summer drink. The poorboys are dressed nicely but because of the size you wish to have it cut in half

While In Thibodaux area, tried this place. This reminds me of a fast food restaurant with menu focused on seafood. You order at the counter yet and they bring the order to you. It was very clean and prompt service was received although there was only one other person dining at the time. We played it very safe with an order of fried fish for Hubs and fried shrimp for me. Hubs wasn't overwhelmed with his fish as it had little taste and was not sliced then like he preferred. Shrimp was okay with nothing special to offer. Overall, it was rated as satisfactory if you want fast and casual.

Price was perfect. Service was great. The food was tastefull and not over spiced. Yes it's fast but who wants to wate for an hour for food that isn't any better. Very nice people were working there.

Really enjoyed my shrimp po' boy. Mom had gulf shrimp platter. Very good and I really enjoyed the hush puppies. Staff was friendly restaurant was clean bathroom was tidy.
