I hate to leave only one star, but our entire table was very disappointed in the food. From the gumbo to the red beans to the etouffee, plates were left uneaten. We had several dishes, and nothing at the table got a thumbs up from anyone. It was a big disappointment of all around lack of flavor, cold food, and off textured items. The drinks were also on the small side. I ate here years before and had a pretty decent experience, so perhaps this was just an off night, where everything but the service was way off. In the end it seemed like we came to a buffet with old food, It was pretty late, so perhaps that is exactly what is was.

I only post a negative review if I believe the issues weren't just a bad day.Service was decent, server good, food.....one out of three dishes were decent. Gumbo was gritty, Fried shrimp over salted and over cooked, basic rolls from a bag or something. Creamy pasta dish fairly good.Basically, a tourist trap place. Many better to go to here where good food is abundant.

The service was great, nice atmosphere very welcoming! The food was good, but I was looking for BIGGER flavor, but not bad. I ordered crab cakes and two different types of oysters. Overall its a great place for a meal with friends.

Late night dining available at Oceana! Located in the heart of the French Quarter, this was a great spot to try some delicious fried chicken, hush puppies and all! Quick service & friendly too! It was all so crispy and satisfying to our bellies!

First time in New Orleans and we enjoyed the food and service. Alfonse was great and offered good suggestions. Taste of New Orleans and the Alligator add on to the salad were awesome choices. I also ordered the seafood gumbo which was the highlight and I could not keep my wife from eating my cup of gumbo. Note cup was actually a nice sized bowl that was enough for two to savor.Location was chill and had a great Cadillac margarita

Oceana was right next door to The Royal Sonesta hotel across the street offering breakfast-dinner. My parents brought me & wifey here once for dinner, there was a wait line outside door which makes you think must be good, or maybe there isn't a lobby inside.We were taken upstairs by hostess, middle floor seating near bar. The spicy Bloody Mary with different vegetables flowering top was tasty & the plastic mason jar is a take home souvenir.We had no appetizers, I personally ordered blackened fish w two sides. My fish was a bit dry as the pic might express, really my order was just blab. My wife and I agreed the food there was not worth returning in our opinion.Compared to so many other great options around this one was just average.

Our meal was absolutely amazing! We had shrimp creole, crabcakes and fish platter. The hurricane and melon monster drinks were delicious. We upgraded our drinks to get to keep the cup and get $5 off any other participating drink location the rest of our trip. Ursula was a fantastic server! Her food recommendations were amazing! We loved it and will definitely be back!! Edited: We came back a second time- got the eggs Benedict for brunch, hurricanes and the melon monster. Josh our bartender was amazing!! Ursula even recognized us from yesterday and came over again to say hello!! Definitely a must do on your trip to New Orleans!!!

Dude! This place is amazing! In the heart of bourbon street wildness there is amazing food and the best service. We were hesitant to try the alligator bites, but the superstar Amaayah encouraged us to try them and they did not disappoint. Definitely come in, ask for Amaayah, and enjoy some delicious Cajun food.

Very tasty appetizers. The bartender suggested getting the combined flavors of alligator and was spot on. The oysters were flavorful and had a surprise roll in the middle of the oysters wearing the same sauce. Nice touch. The gumbo was really good and stands up to the heavy competition in the area. One thing I would have enjoyed is an improvement of silverware. Plastic just doesn't give the same experience.
