I was bamboozled, hoodwinked. $33 for an 8-inch king cake?! Give me a break. There was nothing special about this cake that was commensurate with its cost. No filling, no croissant base, just a plain cake reminiscent of McKenzie's, but not as flavorful. I think it's meant for tourists, not locals. So disappointed.

O'Delice French Bakery is located in the Uptown area of New Orleans near Audubon Park on Magazine Street in a small little spot that you might drive past if you're not paying attention. If you like delicious cakes, nice pastries, and other special desserts for the holidays O'Delice French Bakery has the New Orleans style cakes, cookies, pastries and other desserts which are sure to interest you. O'Delice French Bakery is also involved in our annual King Cake wars that pit the many king cake bakeries against each other for the top cake New Orleans offers for Mardi Gras season. Overall if you're looking for some baked treats and unique New Orleans sweets and desserts this might be a bakery for you to check out.My video review of O'Delice French Bakery is here:https://youtu.be/Ov4s6_Hmm6o

OMG THAT ALMOND CROISSANT!Seriously, it's probably the best thing I've eaten in years. The pastry is of course the same high quality that O'Delice is known for, but the croissant's thick almond cream (too viscous to be paste) is so rich it oozes. It's even better than Boulangerie's, which we all know is fricking stellar, but even it has to be heated to get the same creaminess. See my attached photo. With her excellent fresh brewed espresso this is a perfect breakfast... even better on a bench at nearby Audubon Park.

They lady at the counter couldn't be bothered to end/pause her phone conversation to greet me or take my order. She was very abrupt and came off a bit rude.Everything looked so delicious! And there were so many options. We ordered 22 cake squares in a variety of flavors. When I made it back to the car, we proceeded to eat the cakes but noticed that there was MOLD on the bottom of the almond cakes. I went back in to return the cake and was met with opposition. She tried to explain that they all didn't have mold and I could get something else instead of a refund. After some back and forth, she gave me most of my money back in cash instead of a refund to my card bc she didn't know how to do a debit card refund. We will definitely not return.

I ordered this year's birthday from O'Delice. Great customer service and no hassle with ordering via phone. Everyone absolutely loved my cake! The simplistic and classic design, fresh, almond flavored cake. Very delicious, paired well with vanilla ice cream. I will definitely order from this bakery again.

Best croissants you will ever have in your life. I dream of traveling thousands of miles (and have twice) largely motivated by having them again. If you are in Nola, you must go!

Great location with much potential, but the two pastries we ordered were so-so and one of them had a hair in it. No coffee at 11:00 am? The price for our order was so high we thought the lady behind the counter made a mistake But she assured us this was the rate for the area. A shame you can get better product and service at a chain shop.

Let me start by saying I absolutely love the brioche and croissants from this bakery. So far, I would even say it is one of the best brioches I've had in the city. The reason I gave it 1 star has nothing to do with the food here. As with other negative reviews, it has entirely to do with the service received. For a while I was a regular at this bakery. I would always order the same thing. One day, I realized the price changed. I figured they had just increased their prices and didn't think anything of it. I mean, inflation is definitely a thing and I'm sure we're all aware of it. That was, until I sent my husband in to place the exact same order and he was charged even more than the recently increased price I had just paid. I really wasn't sure what that was about but we stopped going for a while. Fast forward a couple months and I had a friend visiting. We went in to purchase the usual and the price she was charged was LESS than the initial price I was paying. I didn't want to make this about race, but I would like to speak on the fact that the final prices given are never the same, never properly calculated and the reason given is always due to "tax", regardless of the same price being listed for the item on the wall. I started to realize that every time she gave a total, it was without use of a calculator and the "tax" in question had 0 logic or sense to it, was always more than the local tax, and vastly increased my overall total. It's as if she would place said "tax" based on the customer in question, with my caucasian male husband receiving the highest price, and my Asian female friend receiving lowest price. Fine, we'll write that off as speculation. Despite all of this I went back. I tried to pay her ridiculous price by card and her machine said the charge did not go through. I could see it was pending on my account but paid by cash instead, hoping the charge would fall off. She promised the card reader would do this sometimes but the charge would fall off. It didnt and that was the last straw. I stopped going to this bakery. This is New Orleans. There are plenty of other great options in the area. The brioche isn't worth dealing with bad service, unpredictable prices and the sour taste in your mouth you're left with feeling like you've just been robbed when she could easily just raise her prices.
