I'm not sure how I haven't written this review yet, so my deepest apologies to all of the wonderful women of NOLA Craft Culture. This is by far a glitter and craft lovers' paradise. I went there for the first time shortly after their first Mardi Gras, and have returned several times since. I also love having their kits shipped directly to my door.Krewes, Indians, and just regular old people like me love this store and all it has to offer. Glitters, glues, trims, feathers, spectacular examples of the different handmade throws, an ample work space, and some of the most creative minds in the business to help you in anyway you need.Even when you're shopping from afar, they are still a great help, and if you put a note in on your order (like, don't ship before this date) they actually pay attention and you'll get what you need exactly when you want it. It's not a hobby; it's a way of life.

Do you need all the fancy glitter for your carnival crafting? Then this place has you covered. They also have all the varieties of adhesives and feathers and what not. One of the owners was working the counter and was giving a new rider great advice while I was there. I was seeking inspiration for a costume so not exactly what I needed but I'll definitely be back.I also liked that they had some original artwork for sale. And their list of classes/party options look fun too!The store is in a former 2nd story home so that means steps. Not sure that they have an accommodation for folks who can't do stairs.

I was in desperate need of ostrich plumes for H'Ween costume. I phoned ahead, was assured items were in stock and the cost of assorted sizes. Which were already outrageous. I raced there during lunch break, to find none of the plumes I had asked about. In fact, of the smaller ones, the clerk measured ea before ringing up and continued to say, "these are the longer ones" (yet they were grouped within the same vase). Also, she continued to measure from the end of the quill to the end of the feather, not at beginning of feather drab. Then she could not seem to make a credit card work, any card. I ended up scrounging for the last of my cash. Very unpleasant experience. Clerk in serious need of customer service skills.

Craft Culture opened a year ago and I am ashamed for not stepping through the door sooner. I had heard that they had glitter and glue for crafting but it's so much MORE than that. It's basically the place to go for everything you need to costume or enjoy Mardi Gras in this city. Whether you are part of a Krewe and need materials to craft your throws, or simply a participant in any of the parades/holidays we are so lucky to enjoy here, the means to create your costume is here. From glue of various types to trim, feathers, materials for door hangers or building your own headdress, here is where you will get it. I am thrilled that we are so lucky to have small businesses that benefit and supplement our way of life. Check out and frequently patronize, Craft Culture.

We as New Orleanians have the pleasure of knowing how to upcycle, celebrate our culture, and drink champagne all at the same time and Nola Craft Culture has brought everything to one convenient place. Opening on the Feast of the Epiphany and kicking off our Carnival Season, a few Muses came together to make shopping for glitter easier and more accessible. But not just simply purchasing glue and glitter, but sharing the art with all. There's parking around the side of the building, and you enter from the street -- just look for the colorful flags. Every time I go in (which is more times that I can admit), I'm greeted warmly and offered assistance for all of my crafting needs. They have a WALL of glitter. Actually, three walls. Every color you can imagine, including body glitter and biodegradable eco-glitter. They have feathers, and glue, and rhinestones, and appliques, and ribbon, and canvases for crafting, and everything you can possibly imagine for all of your creative whimsy. Even if you don't have any clue what you're going to create when you step in, you'll likely leave with worlds of opportunities. On top of it all, it's a completely unassuming, unpretentious, welcoming shop that also doubles as a maker space and learning center. They offer classes for the novice and expert, and provide space for crafting parties, or whatever! (BYOB!) Every time I'm checking out I've said OUT LOUD "man, y'all are so cheap." And it's true. They want to encourage crafting, not price gauge you.

NOLA Craft Culture is such a hidden gem in Mid City. If you love NOLA, glitter, costumes, feathers, anything sparkly... you have to visit!! The owners are amazing and so helpful and friendly. They also have an amazing maker space downstairs that's awesome for crafting with other creators in the local community. I've been to multiple classes and parties at the shop and they were a blast!! They even have dehydrators to dry your pieces - GENIUS!! Love love this place.

They have their own parking lot or you can park on the street. This place is amazing! Their glitter alone is fabulous. They have so many glitter colors to choose from, as well as cool names for those colors. I ride in a Mardi Gras krewe and decorate glittered cups to throw. For me, this place is a one stop shop. Besides glitter, they carry appliqués, boas, sequins, and glitter makeup to name a few. The staff is so helpful and attentive. They also have crafting classes. You can go on their website and register for a few. I took Glittering 101 with a few ladies from my krewe. The classes are held downstairs. The instructor, Nori, is a pro! She is patient and very informative. I definitely learned a few new techniques to use.

Incredible store for New Orleans crafters and Krewe members! The selection and value was really great in my opinion. The two staff members I met there on my first visit were very friendly and helpful. Someone immediately offered assistance and they took the time to give me detailed advice since I told them I was brand new to crafting Mardi Gras throws and was trying to get the hang of glitter transfers in particular. Thanks to them I made my first successful attempts at it! I also signed up for a class there this month and I'm so excited. Thanks Nola Craft Culture
