This is the cutest shop on Magazine Street! So many great gifts that represent New Orleans.I wasn't really in the market for anything, just browsing, but then I found a lovely Magnolia patterned dog collar - perfect for my beagador named MAGNOLIA! Then I found out from the shop attendant that the state flower of Louisiana is the Magnolia! What??? My boyfriend's mom was born & raised in NOLA and loved our dog. She has been gone for a year and half, so finding this out strangely makes me feel connected to her and that she is still around. :*)Anyway, the sweet shop guy asked me to tell him the story of how my dog and I found each other. I recounted the tale of how I found her at PAWS Chicago, where she came from originally (Oklahoma), that she had a brother named "Steel", how she saved me from a life of stress, and then our connection to NOLA. I always appreciate when someone can create a warm and fuzzy moment. So thank you, Shop Guy!The collar is high quality all around - material and construction. I have purchased MANY custom collars for my baby girl and this has been the best so far. It's worth the money because I know it will last for a long time. I will be checking out their website for Christmas gift ideas since we won't be back until next year!

Adorbs! What a bright, delightful little shop at the Irish Channel end of Magazine. If you are a proud native of the Gulf Coast, or just an enthusiastic visitor/transplant (or gift giver to someone who is), you will find something to love at NOLA Couture. Think of all the symbols of New Orleans and bayou culture and cuisine. Now imagine those artfully integrated into a subtle, tasteful geometric pattern that appears on high quality accessories for ladies, men, kids, and furry friends who want to keep a little NOLA with them always. NOLA Couture has developed custom fabrics and ribbons that show off your Gulf Coast pride in a classic preppy style that you can wear to office or church without coming off too wacky. Think ties, belts, key fobs, bags, scarves, pet collars & leashes, insulated tumblers, glassware, candles, and so on. The ties and scarves are 100% silk & wool. Patterns include:--red beans & rice--snoballs--poboys & hot sauce--gumbo--seafood--shrimp cocktail--beignets & cafe au lait--gators--redfish--Mardi Gras kings--Saints--Louisiana--sea turtles--pirates--2nd line--boats--mosquitos--fleur de lis--fleur de sea (with a fish, shrimp, oyster, and crawfish)--street cars--hurricanes--daiquiris--seahorses--oysters & pearls--pelicans--mallards--seersuckerI could not resist coming home with a red beans & rice belt for myself, plus a few ties for the Cajun/Creole men in the family. I'll probably be heading back to the online store for more gifts for upcoming birthdays.Fans of LSU, Bama, Tulane, SMU (oddly), Florida and other southern colleges can find some neat things here, too. NOLA Couture even can do custom designs for you (your school, business logo, etc.), and shipping is free for orders over $65.Prices are not cheap (ranging from $10 for a laser etched glass to $95 for a loomed scarf), but the quality of the all the goods appears solid. If you are looking for $10 T-shirts about drinking on Bourbon, this isn't your shop, but then you knew that!

This is an adorable shop that is perfect for the NOLA lover in your life.I was here getting some Christmas gift ideas (8 weeks, y'all) and I found a lot of options. Not only do they have brightly colored ties and belts, for the man in your life, but they have cute necklaces that are stamped with NOLA neighborhoods, so you can represent where you're from. They also have glassware that is etched with streetcars, for a subtle nod to the city without being obnoxious. They also carry locally made makeup bags and other New Orleans themed gifts. The woman working was extremely friendly and filled me in about all of the items I was looking at and I will be sure to return when I officially start my holiday shopping.

After moving to NOLA in June of 2015, my pup Daisy and I were having a pretty ruff time fitting in... The neighborhood dogs just didn't seem to notice her. One day, our roommate Buddy dog, made note that him and all his dog friends have matching collars -- Buddy's collar had a fleur de lis pattern, while some other dogs might go for the crawfish, or snowballs pattern. They look at it like a friendship collar, letting all the other dogs know you are a cool and friendly dog. His human directed me to NOLA Couture. After much begging, I took Daisy down to NOLA Couture on Magazine Street. She immediately picked out the navy blue collar with pink fleur de lis, it screamed "I can hold my own and get dirty, but I like to be treated like a princess, too." Unfortunately, they didn't have her size in stock. Daisy was disappointed... But the sales lady said "its not called Nola Couture for nothin'." The store offered to have it made in her size, in about two weeks. Daisy was ecstatic and was willing to wait. A custom collar for her little girly neck and to fit her tomboy personality and style. The two week wait flew by, maybe that's because it didn't take two weeks, maybe a week and a half. When it finally arrived she put it on before even leaving the store. She proudly pranced all the way home with a newfound confidence and feeling of community and family, and every dog began to notice. In just an instant, Daisy became a NOLA Dog. The story doesn't stop there. The community feeling doesn't just dwell in the Nola Dogs, but their humans too! With cute t-shirts, belts, dresses, ties, even key chains, you can become a Nola Person. The best part about Nola Couture is their willingness to please their customers no matter how big or small. Just before the Holiday season, Daisy's roommate Buddy succumbed to his terminal illness. Although, the housemates (both humans and dogs) knew his ultimate fate since his diagnosis, the loss came suddenly and hit everyone hard, especially Buddy's human and bff for 8 crazy years. It was Daisy's idea to make a memory of Buddy that his human could always keep close to him and let all Buddy's friends be sure to keep him in their friendship. Just as Buddy lead Daisy to Nola Couture in the beginning, Daisy knew to go to Nola Couture for the end. I contacted Nola Couture to inquire about the possibility of making Buddy's collar into a keychain for Christmas. The main concern I had was, that after all this time, Buddy's collar was actually not an official Nola Couture collar, it was gift that looked similar, but came from another store in New England. The manager at Nola Couture was delighted we had come to them for this special gift, and was more than willing to make it happen. I dropped of the collar, and less than two weeks later, just in time for Christmas, the keychain was ready to be picked up. We picked up the keychain, and they also handed us what remained of the collar. Once holding it, Daisy recognized the scent, and the tears began to flow though the smiles from the memories it brought back. The store associates thanked us for letting them be a part of the story, and we were infinitely grateful for their services. NOLA Couture, for me, will be my go-to for gifts for pets and friends. For Daisy, it will be her go-to shop for a free biscuit and sip of water on long walks. We thank them and hold them in our hearts for their willingness to welcome us to NOLA and treat us and our pets like family.

Wonderful boutique that I will continue to buy from, again and again. Their styles are quintessential New Orleans, and I highly recommend their items. Recently, I ordered a custom belt about a week before needing it (my mistake, last minute shopper this year) and Amanda was able to put in a rush order for me. It was delivered with a few days to spare! Thank you Nola Couture for going above and beyond for me!

Very cute store with excellent service. Preppy-style clothes and accessories with NOLA motifs and designs. Things seem to be of good quality and are made locally -- which you pay for. Prices are definitely steep, but I still couldn't resist getting collars for my dogs here.Check out Shannon B's review for more details of motifs -- she was very thorough.

I always thought this place sold only overpriced stuff that I would never buy. Upon venturing in here after walking by a million times, we found some glassware that was perfect for our bridal party! We wanted something simple and cheap that showed a little bit of NOLA ~$10. For another $2 you could have it personalized! The staff was so sweet and helpful. Every time we shopped we were able to bring our dog in too. Our order came in sooner than expected. There are a ton of gifts here. Ties may be a little on the pricey side, but the patterns are adorable - they come in skinny and regular. There's also fun patterned things for your pet.
