What a pleasant surprise. We had spent the morning at the plantation and used Yelp to look for lunch. We like to immerse into the places we travel through food so we wanted creole. It was creole, however it bridged into a small La. River town and its food. It was great, nice spices but not over the top we had Gumbo, crawfish cakes (like a small empanada) hush puppies and a crab stuffed Portobello. The Gumbo was good and still came in at last place. Great meal, hit our goal of great local cuisine 5 stars! With 2 beers, desert and tip under $70

Cute place in an old building The bar is beautiful. Their lunches are always good. It seems like the new owners have tried to keep the menu the same. Best bet the butter beans and shrimp.

Great old fashioned ambiance with a beautiful wood bar. Connie, our very friendly server, seated us, and was quite enthusiastic about some of her favorite menu dishes! I ordered a crab cake served over angel hair pasta with a shrimp and crab sauce accompanied by a Caesar salad. My wife ordered the crab cake with remoulade sauce after Connie said there was a good amount of crab in the deep fried cake. Unfortunately, there was no noticeable crab and hardly any crab flavor in this mushy ball. There was no crab and lots of popcorn shrimp in an over-thick sauce. The angel hair pasta was cold and the Caesar salad was flavorless and had no parm. Too bad the food was bad when the service was so good! Connie even say down for a spell and chatted with us about visiting New Orleans. I cannot recommend Nobile's for their poor quality food.

Having grown up in the area, but also having been gone for a long time, Nobile's has been a family favorite for years. I hadn't been in quite a while, and wanted to experience some good home cooked food. My family and I came on a Thursday, and my brother who doesn't eat out many places, loves coming here. The special of the day was a hamburger steak, which was quite flavorful. We skipped appetizers, and I ordered the chicken steak with the gravy on the side. First came the salad which was pretty crisp and yummy, with a lot of dressing. Then the food came out, relatively quickly. My chicken fried steak was delicious, and I had the fries on the side. The fries were a touch on the soggy side. My dad had some fried fish and onion rings and the onion rings were quite delicious. The service was attentive, she brought out a drink my mom asked about but didn't order. But the food was pretty delicious.

Came here after seeing it posted a couple of times and realizing it wasn't too far from me. You can tell this a local spot in a historic building. The food was ok, nothing stood out too much but I saw they won an award for their gumbo so I decided to try it. It was pretty good, would order that again as the roux was good and it's served nice and warm for a cold day.

I only had 30 minutes for lunch and the bartender was very accommodating. Put in the order right away. I ordered the special which was crawfish étouffée, a fried fish and potato salad. A dessert was also included and I chose bread pudding. My work mates recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. Nice atmosphere. Quaint. Homey. The guy next to me told me that he had his wife order food from there at night to be picked up. Told me everything over there was good and I could imagine that it would be. Reminds me of a place that you would find in a small town and perhaps it is a small town. I'm not sure because I just started working in this area. If you happen to be in Lutcher this could be your best bet.

This place was recommended to us while staying at Pal Alley Plantation. It was about a 15-20 minute drive right over the Mississippi and easy enough to get to for a nice carb- heavy meal. The restaurant had limited parking but people were parked off to the side on the street and it seemed to be fine. Service was good, we were able to be seated immediately without a reservation. Almost all the tables were full on a Thursday evening and lots of big families and larger groups. For an appetizer we tried the crab stuff empanadas. They were fried and came covered in crab sauce. These were alright. My husband and I both ordered a crab cake on top of angel hair pasta with crab sauce for the entree. Entrees come with a side salad- it was a tossed Italian with a crunchy and somehow perfectly soft crouton. The pasta was good. The crab cake was too dense and cooked for my liking so I ended up eating more of the pasta. The crab sauce was delicious but extremely rich. Cute family restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone in the area for comfort food.
