NOLA Pelicans, the cutest name for a basketball team, if there ever was. I'm a huge fan. Yes, the name is a bit unthreatening, but check out their logo, that Pelican will poke your eyes out! Or bill your eyes out. I had the pleasure of catching the Pelicans vs. (my) Milwaukee Bucks, when I was in town, and it was very enjoyable! First off, Smoothie King Stadium was walkable from my French Quarter hotel. WALKABLE! Second off, they provide a great Fan Experience before you even set foot inside the arena. Street teams are hosting DJ's, kids' bouncy houses, bball shooting stations- all outside the Smoothie King. There are helpful Pelican People holding up signs saying "Ask Me For Help" or something. Truly brilliant. I did have to ask where Will Call was! (Outside, lowest level).Once inside, it's not the newest arena, but the offerings inside make up for that. I got an Alligator Sausage in a French bun and it was nice and spicy. There are all sorts of Abita and local brews here, you can tip your wait staff, but they will not put out a tip jar, "because that's 'soliciting'". Keepin' it classy.Since the Pelicans were fighting for a Playoff spot, the game was super fun to watch. Anthony Davis and crew were putting up a fight. Tip to the Pelicans, put that Unibrow all over your Pelicans logo and sell, sell, sell! I'm looking forward to seeing the Pelicans play again when I'm in NOLA, or when they're on the road.

Top notch team for a top notch city! With the purchase of courtside seats you received the VIP experience. Included in ticket price last night we were served catfish tacos, salad, pizza, pasta, crabmeat stuffed jalapeños, nachos, popcorn, and lots of snacks. Security was on point and I definitely felt safe. Still wore my mask even though the mandate was dropped. Covid is still out there. The effort they have put into a great experience was awesome! So grateful for sharing the Pels Jazz game experience last night! Amazing 21-22 team, coach, staff, and sales person Austin Busby!Go Pels!!!!!!!

This franchise has certainly not had the best of luck with the Super Max players. Starting with AD .... let's be honest, forcing his way out to play with the Lakers, they have been unable to get the star power needed to win in the league. Fast forward to 2019 and the Pelicans were fortunate enough to land the number one pick in the draft and possibly the biggest name since Lebron. Zion was going to rescue the franchise. Pairing him with Brandon Ingram things were certainly looking up. But, factor in injuries to the number one pick and covid and they are still not able to break into the upper ranks of teams that are consistent threats to be title contenders. With the worst record in the western conference (currently December of 2021) things don't look to get better until the hopeful return of Zion from injury. The future is bright, but they've gotta be able to stay healthy and get a veteran presence and they might have the start of something special here.

I know it is early in a new season in the NBA, but the New Orleans Hornets know they are in the tough western conference and no games here are really a picnic. I mean in and out, you have to battle the likes of Zach Randolph and Rudy Gay on Memphis, OKC young studs like Westbrook and Durant then maybe the next night a little dose of Manu and Tim Duncan from the San Antonio Spurs. -David Stern and the NBA at least no longer run the general operations here, now the focus can be on improving the team even more for the future and spending more money on better players. RE-SIGNING Eric Gordon was probably a mistake, the guy seems to be injured all the time. I think they gave him 4 years and 60 million dollars and he is hurt always. - Build around this young player they just got in the draft number one, Anthony Davis. Ryan Anderson (formerly of the Orlando Magic) was a good free agent pickup and Robin Lopez looks like he can play so far. Weakness:The team needs more help at shooting guard and backup point guard. Seriously, they need help majorly. Chris Paul was the face of this franchise a while ago it seems, he ain't here anymore.

My favorite NBA team now. The games are so fun and it's not hard to get cheap tickets. The smoothie King center is very easy to navigate.

I discovered a love for basketball many years ago. Then it happened....New Orleans bought the Hornets. Imagine my excitement. Hornets eventually turned into the Pelicans. Either way I love the entire basketball experience. Watching a great game, in a great arena, with many food choices and a great beer selection. What could be better? Oh yeah, there happens to be some really great bloody marys available as well.

I sit here at a game I cannot even enjoy because of the horrible way it began. We looked on the smoothie king website to confirm our stroller was allowed, we saw it was and made our two mile walk to the game (which we are coming to from Toronto). We get to the gate and we are rudely told it is not allowed (by security and corporate staff). We're told by multiple people we are not allowed in (though it clearly states strollers can be parked at 108). After being forced to wait 40 minutes in the cold with a 23 month old, we are finally allowed inside but being constantly reminded we are in the wrong. Though we are not! It is clearly stated on your website you are allowed strollers, and nba policy does not clearly state otherwise(we looked, try and find strict stroller policy somewhere). Overall horrible customer service. You should be ashamed of this treatment. As this is our 5th nba game outside of the raptors (not to mention 28 nfl, 22 Mlb, and 20 nhl) we have never been treated like this and if I have any power in our blogs or word of mouth I will scream from the rooftop for this experience.Disgusted by your treatment,Devon Ryback

Thanks to the magic of Yelp, I got to experience my first ever Pelicans game and it was a great one! The Pelicans set a franchise record with their score of 139 points in one game and the game itself was non stop action.I loved that there was constant entertainment throughout the game: people running around with signs, the dancers getting the crowd pumped and even a fun game of Simon says at half time. Thanks to social media we were able to participate in little activities with the jumbo tron and the crowd had a great time.I can't wait to go back and see another game!

I attended the Pelicans vs Suns game and participated in a game in which I won a $25.00 Chevron gift card. It was a joke! The card was not activated. I called the Pelicans office and was told they would get back to me and.... You know how that goes. Don't give gift cards if you don't plan on activating them.
