I promised Chris this review and it is long overdue...sorry, Chris!I attend Mardi Gras in New Orleans every year six (only missed one year because of Covid). Two years ago, I saw a Groupon for the New Orleans Paranormal Society ghost hunt. I bought one for my trip in 2023 and it was so fantastic, I purchased a ticket again this year in 2024. Chris is phenomenal. He is as passionate about the paranormal as any ghost hunter you see on TV. He really makes the experience and is just an all around nice guy as well. This experience is unlike any other paranormal tour in NOLA. I do a different walking tour every year, and sometimes repeat companies because a different guide is a different experience every time. This isn't like the other tours during which you walk around The Quarter and hear stories...and those are completely enjoyable. This one adds in the element of being able to use all the equipment you see the pros bring out on your favourite shows and getting the chance to actually use it yourself.Chris is really great because he gets to know his group, not just, "Where are you from?" but tuning in to how each person feels about the other side and spirits. Both years the tour started at The Hotel Provincial. The first year, the traffic held me up while I was trying to get to my parking spot but Chris waited for me to walk the .5 mile from my parking spot...I ran most of the way lol. The second year, I made sure I got there early and got to have a really nice chat with one of the most personable bartenders I've ever met and have a really great drink he created just for my preferences, so I recommend doing this to kick things off. Chris came over to talk for a little while too, and he remembered me and it was so great to just catch up on life. The first stop both times was a large storage space at the Andrew Jackson hotel. Here you will do a lot of work with the SLS camera. It was kind of heavy and hard to maneuver, but once you got it focused correctly, when you mapped a figure who wasn't there physically, that was incredible to see. This year, Chris also had the string of lights that only light up when something touches them. There was also a spirit boxes, and we did hear voices come through. There is one spirit called Master in there and when he shows up, the feeling is noticeably heavier. The first year, we went over to Hands of Fate. There are many talented healers/mediums there (I had an amazing session with Sam there this year so I'm over the moon Chris introduced us to them). The energy at HOF is crazy. You can definitely feel it. Chris used cat balls while we were there to try to talk to my deceased grandfather. We did get some cool responses of them lighting up at certain questions, and no one was anywhere near the cat balls or the table they were on, and everyone was sitting. We got to use the Estes method, which I've always wanted to try. I did hear some interesting voices while wearing the headphones and one was very dark and disturbing. This year, the second stop was the haunted cottage of a voodoo priestess named Claudia (I hope I'm remembering that detail correctly). This place was so old, such an amazing piece of NOLA history. There was an app he used on an iPad, I believe it's called Spirit Talker. I've see this used at Bobby Mackey's too. It does seem to respond to things that people say or ask at times. I remember it saying some things that gave me goosebumps. There was a guy in our group who was a skeptic, but he seemed to be the target of something in the house that was saying negative things to his questions on the spirit box. I'll have to say that I missed some of what was going on. I'd already made my trip and was very well rested when I took this tour. I was very excited. While we were sitting in the dark in this cottage, I felt absolutely drained. I've seen a certain someone on a certain paranormal show pull this at almost every location: Oh, I'm so drained! This was weird and I didn't like it at all. I've never felt so sleepy, and it wasn't just sleepy but almost felt like your spirit was being pulled away from your body. And I was aware of it and kept trying to snap out if but I couldn't. Weirdest feeling I've ever had in my life. Like I said, it almost felt like I wasn't even there with the group anymore. Thankfully, once the lights were turned back on, I woke up enough to stumble out and as soon as I'd walked around the block, I felt like myself again just depleted of a lot of energy. This is a tour unlike any others in the Big Easy. It's so much fun to interact with people from all over the world and your guide while getting to do something you usually only get to watch on TV. I'm a huge fan of the paranormal and am always wishing to have experiences when I visit haunted sites. We definitely witnessed interactions both years and even though a lot of the cottage was a blur, it was insane to have that kind of experience. Will I be booking again in 2025? Of course!

Took this tour as a skeptic, I still am but there was food for thought.Chris, our guide, was engaging, knowledgable, and deliberate. This is not a tour in a spooky building while hearing ghost stories. This is an investigation with specific equipment and methodologies that are clearly explained and the guest becomes part of the team. I personally enjoyed the expressed thought that the investigation is not intended to convince anyone of anything. The walk was very short but through two great locations. This is an imerssive investigation in which you will take part. The rules are clear and reasonable, "DO NOT taunt spirits" comes to mind. They also seem like they would make the experience more appropriate and accessible to all.I highly recommend the experience.

First off, this post is not about whether or not ghosts are real. That is up for each person to decide. I'm rating the ghost hunting for the experience of it. If you come in thinking it's bunk, it may not change your mind. With that in mind, here we go. We booked out ghost hunting experience through the NOPS website. We didn't want to just walk around and hear stories about dead people or places that supposedly haunted. We wanted to learn about the equipment and see what we could on an actual investigation, albeit a short one. If you are a fan of ghost hunting shows, think more Ghost Hunters than Ghost Adventures. We didn't go yelling at spirits, antagonizing them or anything like that. This was about learning the tools of the trade and then getting a chance to use them, and we had a blast! Our guide, Chris, was excellent. Informative, excited, knowledgeable, and fun. We got a chance to use a lot of equipment that you see on the shows, including a REM pod, MEL meters, K2 meters, thermal imaging, and an SLS camera (the one that looks like connect the dots). We had time to visit two locations with a short bathroom/drink stop in between. Both locations had a great story and we encountered "activity" at both places. Why did I use quotes? Because it's a belief thing. Do I believe that we encountered spirits? I have no reason to doubt or believe. I will say this, we had a good enough time to want to do it again the next time we are in New Orleans, and maybe even back at home. If you are looking for proof of the afterlife, this may not give you the answers you are looking for. If you are looking for a memorable experience that could give you some great stories to tell your friends, this is the tour for you. Thank you again, Chris, for an amazing time. We hope you can find out who the new entity was in the SLS picture.

What an amazing experience with Christopher. He explained aim detail a variety of instruments that we would be using. Went to Andrew Jackson Hotel and in a small back room, had numerous encounters with spirit energy. No kidding. It wasn't scary, just fascinating. Then we went to a private home and had a kind of electronic seance. Very cool. Highly recommend this over the conventional "ghost tours".
