Used our NARM membership and saved $40 for two. The Museum is located right after the main entrance. You can't miss it. It's next to the Sculpture garden and to the left of Cafe Du Monde. It's a huge Musuem. So many cool exhibits. We went for the prohibition exhibit. It was smaller than expected, but still intreating. They had benches so you can get off your feet and rest a bit.The bathrooms are clean and locate on the first and second level. The second floor one was a bit on the chilly side. They had a funny display of ikea products.I loved that they have a cafe attached. It encouraged us to spend more time in the museums as we didn't have to leave early as we were hungry and looking for something to eat.I highly reccomend the museum. It was chilly on the Winter day that we went and it was nice to warm up and get off our feet for a while. They also have in and out privileges so you can see some of the Museum, go to cafe du Monde for a snack and then come back for the rest of the Museum. Also the perfect place to cool off in the hot summer days. Plus they have clean bathrooms is a plus being in the park all day.

What museum is located on the edge of the huge New Orleans City Park, twice as large as Central Park in Manhattan? The New Orleans Museum of Art costs $20 to enter. It has sculptures of Africa, paintings by Picasso and European renaissance paintings, stuffed birds and animals. Went to a special exhibit of glamor costumes where you had to pay extra. Should have declined paying extra, and simply let my wife take the pictures and show them to me.Close by are the big lake of the park, New Orleans Botanical Gardens with it's extensive model trains, the Sculpture Gardens, and Cafe du Monde in the Park, although you'll have to walk a quarter mile to get those beignets, as driving will cause you to lose your parking spot.

Delicious and healthy breakfast and lunch menu located inside NOMA at City Park. While there I enjoyed the Coolinary Menu that goes through September 15: Experience the flavors of summer with our COOLinary Menu! 2 Courses for $28 1st Course: Start with a choice of refreshing Cantaloupe Soup or our Petite Greek Salad. 2nd Course: Choose between the Gulf Shrimp & Quinoa Salad, featuring spicy boiled shrimp and lemon Dijon vinaigrette, or the Confit Duck Leg Quarter, served with edamame succotash and a peach-ginger gastrique.

A beautifully laid-out museum that does a great job with its exhibitions - it's easy to see everything inside within about two hours, but also allow time to enjoy the large sculpture gardens and surrounding park area. Nice cafe & gift shop, too. They do a good job explaining/highlighting works of art in a manner everyone can enjoy and learn from.

The sculpture garden may be the best part about this place - and it's the only free part! The garden itself gets 5 stars! It's a meandering path through beautiful, perfectly placed sculptures within trees, bushes, and around water features. The other 5 star feature of this place is the branding and gift shop. The NOMA branded items are beautiful, and a great souvenir. The museum itself, minus the sculpture garden, gets 3 stars from me. Being one of the top ten featured "must see attractions" by some popular travel websites seems like a real stretch, especially compared to other excellent art museums across the nation (and across the south). The building is indeed lovely inside with an "okay" mixture of art from around the world. The African collection itself was worth the visit. They have some very different contemporary art pieces that I haven't seen or heard of before. But the price of museum entry does is not warranted by the visit, especially since the sculpture garden is free. The permanent collection on site is mostly disappointingly underwhelming. With that said, I'm glad that I visited. I likely wouldn't visit the museum again, though I would visit the sculpture garden again. And I do love my NOMA tshirt that I picked up at the gift shop.

I love this museum! The collections are great. Terrific mixture of art from around the world. Excellent MesoAmerican, African and contemporary collections. The boring European Renaissance art is held to a bare minimum and is better for it. The building is interesting. -- and large. Thankfully the restaurant is excellent so we could take a much needed break. From downtown, take the Canal Street trolley to the end of the line. It's a 12 minute walk to the entrance.

Loved the sculpture garden! It's the biggest one I have seen with the expansion and it's free! It would be 5 stars for just the sculpture garden. I would be a regular if I lived here! It would be great to do stroller walks at. The actual museum of art raised their price to $20 even though 3 of the exhibits were closed. There were some great pieces like Warhol's Mick Jagger, Pablo Picasso. I did not like the Monet and Degas that they have. They did have some interesting contemporary art.

The New Orleans Museum of Art has a little bit of everything in their collection. Like a jack of all trades and a master of none. If you're a tourist like me, you can come here on the Canal Streetcar at the last stop. General Admission is $15 and this includes 3 stories of art and even access to their sculpture garden. Unlike other museums I've been to, I was surprise there was no security on guard in any of the exhibits or the garden, so if someone snuck in they probably wouldn't even notice. First Floor: European Barque Art, European Renaissance Art, Early Renaissance Art, and Dutch & Flemish PaintingSecond Floor: Early, mid and late 19th Century Louisiana Art, Native American Art, French Art, Contemporary Art, Modern Art, Photography, Orientalism, European and American Modernism, Impressionism, 19th Century Art, and European and American Decorative Arts. Third Floor: Art of the Americas, Japanese Art, Indian Art, African Art. The map also shows Chinese Art and Oceanic Art, but those must be under renovation or in transition during the day of our visit. After we were done with the inside of the museum, we went out to the Sculpture Garden. I feel like I was more impressed with the large scale sculpture garden than the inside since there was more artwork I have not seen prior. Luckily for us the weather was nice enough for us to walk around over their glorious bridges and over the water and explore the garden. We spent about 2 hours here since we were in a rush, but you can easily spend 3 hours here if you had time. It is a nice sampling of many different style of art works. Great to visit and explore your personal artist preferences.
