Lovely venue! There's a beautiful bar, and the staircase is actually part of the shelves to hold the bottles which I thought was brilliant. There's a lovely seating area with a little Instagram-worthy library, a place for a band to play in the lobby, a beautiful food set up with tons of monitors so you can watch what's going on in the theatre while you eat, as well as a full theatre/ stage performance area. It's a perfect space to host an event! The staff were really friendly and I was very impressed by everything. The bathrooms are also spacious and beautiful. The one criticism I have is the parking situation is rough, there is no parking lot--but the venue does have valet available! I can't wait to go to my next event here!

Pros:-Aesthetically BEAUTIFUL; Kudos to the architects, so cool. Great design. Exudes contemporary, cool, chic... The place to be!!! -Ample street parking-Stage area, seating area & general congregating area; this place is truly MULTI-PURPOSE!!!! Awesome!!! Lots of area to do different things here there & over there... EVERYWHERE!!!! -Many entry & exit points; this is a plus due to all around parking. You can enter from North, South, East or West, pick your poison. Cons:-Not for large parties/events. I was here for LaToya Cantrells Mayoral Election Watch Party & as I expected the turn out was massive, but not to exceed the maximum occupancy, but it was still VERY HOT. Lack of circulating air? Or just the sheet excitement of the event... Idk; but what I do know is, it was hot indoors on a November night 2017 after 8p while we were in the middle of a semi-cool front. -Bartenders were unorganized, confused and super duper slow. Idk if they weren't anticipating the crowd, but they needed to get it together. The line was literally wrapped from one side of the bar to the other who wants a drink after waiting :45 mins? Ehhhhhhh not me. Lol. Because of the event I attended, I will blame the crappy service, yes I said CRAPPY, organization-lacking bartender's performance on the massive number of folks in attendance; it was was truly maddening. I personally heard several people quietly complaining; I was glad it wasn't just me that was feeling the effects. That being said, management should've really anticipated a larger than normal crowd. I will attend another event here, but I hope by the time I return they will've fixed their issues; ORGANIZATION IS KEYMakes me think of a pretty car that sputters when you drive it.

I want to be comfortable in this space and it is gorgeous and the happy hours that I've been here, it's been hit or miss with the bartenders, like everywhere. But I just can't. I am frustrated that this beautiful space was a bit of a political boondoggle and that it was renovated with money that was intended for New Orleans Public Libraries. This is not the fault of the current management or staff but it leaves a bad taste. I wish them well.

This is an New Orleans experience one must witness. From the locals having fun, drinking, selling merchandise....painting T-shirt's food etc....to the tourist flying in on comedy night or sipping a mixed drink listening to the music. I had the opportunity to stop in during an event for the dm first time I think it was Wednesday or Thursday and have been the last 3weeks. The seating is orchestra seating where the seats go up so anywhere you seat you have a good view of the stage.

This palace is a MUST if your in New Orleans!! Especially on Wednesday night for their free jam sessions. It's like a open mic night with a live band, anyone can sign up to sing, rap, do poetry. I saw some of the most talented people here. I'm definitely going back next time I'm in town. Also the street vendors were great. Stands for food, art, hand made skincare, spiral items. The show might be free but the vendors will definitely get you!

I attended the Millennial Awards here. This is a nice venue with a good layout for an event or party. The Millennial Awards was a packed crowd and I wished the food stations had been set up a little better, but there is only so much you can do with limited space. Because this was such a busy event, it did take a while to get drinks- I don't understand why more bartenders aren't hired for bigger events like this. The main room where the awards were held was very nice. I sat upstairs and there was another bar there that was less crowded, so that was nice. The sound system was perfect for the presentation and the seats are arranged nicely so you can easily see the stage wherever you may be sitting. One complaint: the sinks in the bathroom didn't work AT ALL. They are the automated type and I couldn't get anything more than a trickle out of them. My date said the same about the men's room.

This is one of my favorite venues in NOLA. Why, you say? Well:1. Because of the small house size, every seat has a good view.2. The NOJM's acoustics & design/layout are fantastic.3. There are some really good shows here (Sheila E & Ledisi are some recent shows that were crazy good).4. Despite needing to make their money back from a relatively small house size, they still offer affordable tickets for shows (a major plus).5. I've been told that the Spoken Word Open Mic Night on Wednesdays is worth catching.6. Free street parking available on the well-lit Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard & its side streets (parking in NOLA?!? *ding ding ding* We have a winner!)...plus, the events I've been to have valet parking!I don't really get drinks here, so I don't have the bar experience I'm reading in others' reviews; just know that there is a text-to-drink feature at the NOJM that allows you to order drinks from your seat & pay when the employee brings your libation to you. Seems more convenient to moi than waiting at the bar forever.Honestly, every time I've been here, it's been a truly enjoyable experience. I've already got my tickets to see Zardis Nichols, so I will be returning.

My new favorite place to spend a Friday evening in New Orleans! Laid back, yet very clean and hip, their happy hour specials are amazing, especially paired with the free board games and live music that is afforded to customers. The auditorium is beautiful, and I can't wait to come back for one of their many live shows.
