the adjoining room to the bedroom where we stayed
Four post bed - pretty nifty.
Courtyard area
The only tv in the room
Dirty fireplace
Unchanged bed.
One of the pools
Unchanged bed with hair and stains under the covers.
We've had the fan running for 48 hours straight. Still 83.
This was right outside our rooms in the one cottage. Great place to hang out and have a beer by the pool

What could possibly be better than spending a day wandering around the French Quarter in the blistering summer heat, only to return to a hotel room which is... hotter than it is outside? Yes, that's right, our third floor hotel room not only lacks AC but also has zero opening windows, which means we couldn't even hope to get our room down to outside temperatures. Ever try sleeping in an 83 degree sauna? Now I can say that I have!We stayed here two nights, and after the first I requested to be moved to a lower floor or basically any room with windows, but the front desk folks (who enjoy AC all day) were less than helpful. It's a cute place, nice pool, but don't expect anything more. Oh and definitely don't expect to get more than one hand towel and one washcloth per room, no matter how many people are in your party.

This is a grand, restored historical building that is very well run as a hotel. It depends on what you want. If you want to hang out in the room, some of the rooms are a little small with with limited sitting and lounging space. But, most people are here to enjoy the sights, sounds and experiences of New Orleans (as we were) and won't want to hang out in the room all that much. Everything was very clean, updated and very well appointed. Water pressure was a little low. The bed was very comfortable. The brick floors are beautiful, but they do echo the noise of the partiers...who do come in late without regard for those who have gone to bed. It depends on where your room is. On the ground level it can be a little loud. The continental breakfast was available for at least a few hours after it was supposed to close. The coffee is great. And, if you want more variety of deli foods, the convenience store that is two doors down has a fabulous hot deli. The pool looked very inviting... If it were just a little warmer, I would have gone in.All of the staff was typically accommodating and friendly... the way they do it in New Orleans.

Pictures were misleading...this place was horrible..dirty floors, bugs in the bathroom, loose toilet...and if you are in the downstairs unit be prepared to listen to every footstep your upstairs neighbor makes!!! We could hear the people next door talking not to mention everything else!!! And on top of all this they charged us over $300 for 1 night even though Booking.com showed a much lesser charge. Stay clear of this place.

TERRIBLE customer service and they KNOWINGLY overcharged me for the room. I have not received resolution. I originally booked a double, and was given single. When I attempted to address the issue the "systems were down". The next morning I addressed this again. The desk clerk was dismissive, disrespectful, and overall unprofessional. He was reluctant to resolve the issue and told me there was nothing he could do about it, charged me for the double room anyways and said He would have the manager contact me. I have yet to receive that phone call and the email address he gave me was a fake.As far as the room is concerned, the bed was uncomfortably hard. So much so that my arm would go numb since I laid on my side. The shower was clogged and filled up within a couple of minutes. On the positive side, it was clean and the A.C. worked well.

This place was great!! I went to NOLA for spring break and was looking for a hotel close to the French quarter, but that wouldn't break the bank. This place was the perfect location, a brisk walk to the French quarter, and not too far from downtown either! It felt very safe and we had everything we needed. The only thing bad that happened was that there was a fight between two girls right outside of our door in the middle of the night, and it was violent BUT the staff did their best to de escalate and I couldn't have asked for a better stay. Hoping to return!

If you're looking for luxury, this isn't the place for you. But if you want to spend most of your time exploring the city rather than lounging around in your hotel, this is a good place at a great price. The staff is very friendly and willing to provide lots of recommendations for things to do nearby. The room was small and lacking in frills, but I found it more interesting than a generic hotel room. There was a bit of noise and the staff advised us not to walk around outside late at night, but I never felt unsafe in the hotel or the surrounding area. It's about a half-mile walk from Frenchmen St., which has lots of great jazz clubs and restaurants and is less chaotic than Bourbon St.The continental breakfast is lacking - no protein to be found and some unfortunately plasticine blocks of cheese. Overall, though, I'm glad to have stayed here and would love to come back again next time.

Man, this used to be a 5 star for me. They switched staffs about a year ago after the selling the hotel and I have had nothing but issues with my stays since. I finally drew the line after Mardi Gras. Our flight came in early so we left our luggage with the front staff. We came back to the hotel well after check in time to bypass the check in rush, and got our bags. I opened my bag when I got to our room and found $500 cash missing. I filed a report with the front staff. He was overly helpful, very polite and insisted he would contact the managers and owners regarding the situation. We were there for a week, so I gave them a few days before I started to check in with the downstairs staff. I kept getting told that they were forwarding the information, that they would have someone contact me. We ended up leaving New Orleans. I called back a few times a week for about a month. I didn't receive a phone call, an email, or even some sort of mail correspondence regarding the situation.I have been coming to this hotel regularly since 2010. I used to write up recommendations to anyone traveling to the area and tell them this was the best hotel to stay at. I travel for business, and am looking to relocate and open a business in New Orleans hence why I was staying here sometimes once a month. The lack of respect given to me over filing an issue over missing money was the line I drew after watching a decline at this facility. Unfortunately, I won't be back to stay with them and I will not recommend them to my peers.I gave them 2 stars because I hope at some point that they will fix the issues they have, hire enough staff to give proper service to hotel clients, and go back to the service I had grown to love.

Definitely would not come back. It's a mediocre hotel. Beautiful courtyard but everything in the rooms are outdated. - We stayed on the first floor and floors are very squeaky and dirty--was afraid to take my socks off the whole time. - Wifi extremely spotty-- goes in and out. - Spring beds make a lot of noise. - You can hear every step being made upstairs. - Our toilet wasn't fully screwed into the floor so it would move as you sat down (we were in room 114).- No windows in the place only light came from the panes on the front door. - Our room was right by the pool and if people were hanging out at night by the tables, you heard everything. Railroad style room. Walked in was the foyer with tv and couch. Next room was bedroom--awkward to not be able to watch tv in bed. Never experienced this in a hotel. Bathroom is last room in the back. Everything was pretty basic. They provided two very small bottles of shampoo and conditioner and bars of soap. That's it--no toothpaste, qtips, which are generally standard in hotels. I didn't book the rooms, one of the girls did. We were here for a bachelorette and apparently if she had not called a few days before arriving, we wouldn't haven't gotten our rooms at all. We got lucky and was able to book three rooms side by side but initially two large suites were booked for 10 people. Extremely disappointing experience. Would not recommend to anyone.

This hotel has good and bad points:Good:Adorable roomsBrick floorsWonderful breakfastTwo poolsOnsite parkingWonderful, friendly staffOnsite laundry roomBathrooms were huge for a hotel roomSuper cute courtyardBad points:Our room smelled like mildew/mold. So much so that our clothes smelled like it when we got home. They don't enforce the quiet time rules at night. We stayed here because it was off the quarter, but people were out partying until 4:30 am. Someone even tried to come in our room at 1:00 am.Rules say no alcohol or music in the pool, but saw both with employees walking aroundBed was so uncomfortable, just awful. All in all a good deal, lovely staff, very friendly. Good bargain.

Looked nice at first. Very nice pool. Very rude front desk staff acted as if we were in inconvenience checking in. Got to our look and it looked pleasant at first! I then pulled back my covers on the first best. Murillo hair, crumbs and some yellow stains were all over the sheets. Pillows were not even touched with indents from the previous person who stayed in the room. The bath room is disqusting. Feces and urine were all over the bowl and outside. Shower was cleaned poorly. The bathroom floor had hair all over. The desk was covered in dust and liquid from it looked like a drink. Would not recommend.
