Walking around Jackson Square and the surrounding area in the French Quarter, I was looking to grab a cigar somewhere. The closest spot we found was Nawlins Cigar. While the pricing was higher than what I'm used to seeing back home in South Florida, I found a stick that I was willing to pick up and smoke immediately. Walking down Saint Ann from Jackson Square, you can find the cigar shop on the right-hand side. They carry a decent amount of cigars from various brands but note that cigars by Padron 1926 and 1964 and Cohiba are going to be higher because there are few cigar stores in the French Quarter -- especially close to Jackson Square.

I came to New Orleans looking forward to this place. Looked up the time of opening online. Stayed 10:am. This is Monday Sept 11, 2023. I got there at 10:00 and the doors were locked. As I waited, I observed 3 other people trying to go into this establishment. After 45 minutes waiting, I left. I'll take my business somewhere else. What good is it to have a sign stating what time you open if your employees cannot open in time. I would get rid of any employee that's hurting my business. If you have a sign that says opens at 10:00, be on time and open at 10;00. When you call the mailbox is always full. OMG. Not the business I want to run.

The folks who say Ester is rude come into this shop thinking they know what they want. But, it's her shop and she is the cigar expert. If you plan to come to this place to window shop, then don't come here. When you walk in the door, she wants to know what you like. Whether you know or don't, she'll help you find the perfect cigar. Come here to get a good cigar from someone who knows them better than you. Ester is a gem. We've visited lots of cigar places in NOLA and we always come back to her.

We love the cigars here, we have been here before and just today we bought $250 worth of cigars. Ester helped us with our purchase. She was horribly rude. We will not be back until she is replaced.

Owner was quite rude and demanded a tip for service even though we only bought cigars. She told us our taste was bad and to open our minds to more expensive cigars. She yelled at us for touching hats. Very weird experience. But more importantly- the cigars were stale; not rotated or correctly stored in a humidor.

My friend Kimmel and I have a NOLA tradition. We always stay at the Place D'Armes and we always pick a night to walk next door for cigars to smoke back at our hotel on the courtyard. We aren't really cigar smokers, so we always ask the woman to help us choose something. She'll quickly pull out and slide down the wrapper on a handful of cigars. She'll tell us to smell as she describes each one. Last night we ended up choosing something mint flavored (for me and oh, so yummy) and a chocolate coffee flavor for Kimmel. I think each cigar was $11-13. We came back to the courtyard and puffed away with our bottle of Bulleit Bourbon. They were such big cigars that we still have half of each to finish another night. And, as a non-smoker, I really, really liked the mint. It was smooth and lingered on my lips like a mint julep. I also don't feel like I've got smoke inhalation damage sitting here writing This the morning after -- so that seems like a good sign.

My husband and I are not newbies to the cigar world and came in yesterday looking for something newer and maybe more local to add to our collection. A very friendly man from Spain suggested a cigar that we ended up loving and came back today to buy more of this same cigar. What would have been a simple and easy sale of at least $140 per box turned into zero dollars being spent by us.The woman, who I now know owns the shop, basically told me to shut up while she tried to steer my husband to other more expensive cigars. I actually thought all of this was very funny and amusing at first until I had some questions about the box of cigars we were about to purchase. Then she shut me down, wouldn't speak to me anymore and would only address my husband. When I tried to let her know that I didn't appreciate her tone or the fact that she was being condescending to both of us, she basically told her to leave the store. For anyone reading this, let it be known that this store is charging 140% MSRP, at least for the box we were looking at. The owner is belligerent. The cigars are not rotated properly and burn unevenly. Save your time and money and go to another cigar shop or cigar bar in the city. Shopping for and enjoying cigars should be a fun and enjoyable experience.

Prices are high and the person up sells everything. We didn't ask for water bottles but she added 2 to the bill and then get mad because we didn't tip. Stay away.

Ester who "helped" me today was quite rude. Tried to come off as helping, but interrupted me several times, told me i was slow, and talked over me, getting louder as I was trying to answer her question about what I am looking for. She should not be in "customer service" and I will not be returning.

Went to pick up some cigars and the lady helped us find some. While paying I chose no tip because every place wants tips now days. The lady after paying got offended I did not tip and starts asking if she was not helpful and mad I did not tip her. She then asked me to tip her in cash and I told her I did not have small bills and walked out. I am also positive I was up-charged as well but I left in a hurry to get away from that lady I did not ask for a receipt. 0 stars.
