Mystic Krewe of Nyx

I joined Nyx as a new member and rider in 2023. I was overwhelmed by the warm welcome that I received from everyone. They were friendly and helpful and made me feel like a long lost sister. I have enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends. Riding with Nyx was a fun and positive experience. These ladies are awesome! Join us!

Nyx was only 16 floats this year. I believe they may be having issues getting riders. A very short parade and pretty disappointing. Not sure how long Nyx will be around in the future.

This parade was definitely a waste of time tonight... the floats were in desperate need of riders and throws. Their signature throw is supposed to be a purse but none of the throws we received alluded to that. Next year I simply will not attend. This krewe seems to need a complete overhaul.

This is an amazing krewe filled with beautiful women who embody the meaning of sisterhood and friendship. Although small...for now their energy and grace fills the night sky during carnival season. They throw signature purses to those that are lucky and have beautiful floats. They are one krewe you do not want to miss on the uptown route!

Purse First. Purse First.It was my first Mardi Gras living in New Orleans and of course I had to check out the Mystic Krewe of Nyx parade on Wednesday. Nyx and purses go hand-in-hand and folks go nuts over these treasured gems during Mardi Gras.Make sure you are exuding tons of excitement and energy to capture the thrower's attention if you're not wearing a costume to stand out. Also wear something festive and go with the flow it is Mardi Gras afterall!They had 44 floats this year and I believe they had the largest amount of floats this year. We were on Magazine near SukhoThai and it was a great area. A solid mix of family and party goers.The parade featured a large assortment of entertainment and I was living for it. This krewe doesn't hold back and they toss so much stuff out to the crowds.I'll be attending every year that's for sure! Doesn't hurt that I caught a purse this year and it's freaking badass. I gotta remind myself to make a sign next year though.

We run an all women's krewe in another city and have become sister krewes with Nyx!! we have paraded with them through the beautiful streets of our beloved New Orleans for the last two years, and have just had the best time! This is a bucket list experience! Throwing purses to the excited faces is such a great experience! We put so many hours of love and time into making these items and buying our thoughtful throws That you must attend and catch some!

Pitiful parade.What was once a super krewe is now a super dump.Small floats that are empty and the few riders on them,do not throw. And how many ordinances does she have to break before they pull the permit? They should have had 7 marching bands,they had 5.They aren't supposed to solicit,they threw throws soliciting members.What a waste of a good permit.

I have been a member of the Mystic Krewe of NYX, all ladies, a very diverse group since 2018. The diversity that I like includes ethnicity, location from across the USA and levels of work. When we come together, it is magical fun and support. The sisterhood is genuine, and we support each other and the city of New Orleans. We work dilligently on our purses throughout the year as we try hard to make our parade goers happy as they receive a specially designed glittered purse covered with creativity and love!

A waste of my time. Floats were empty,throws are old and tired,marching units are not like they were. Riders looked like they were bored out of their skulls. Do yourselves a favor and forget about the krewe.Oh,how the mighty have fallen!

What a great bunch of women in this club!!! Every event I've been to has been first class!!! The luncheons & balls are superb!!!Everyone welcomes you with opens arms. One if the BEST krewes in New Orleans
