For it's inaugural run, Femme Fatale was running a bit late, but blame that on the parades before them. I don't know if the ladies planned to make most of their debut after dark but kudos for really full floats and every rider in full costume and mask. The crowd had definitely thinned by the time they passed on St. Charles but those who were left were enthusiastic. They had good bands, leading off with St. Mary, and good marching groups, both grownups (the Pussyfooters) and kids (Twirling Divas - majorettes with class). All and all a great 1st run...now if I had just caught one of those compacts.

This parade was great! Generous throwers, enthusiastic float riders and marchers, fun signature throws (compacts, kiss beads, plush lips). This year (2016), they were the first parade on the first Sunday of parading season and were totally worth getting out there early. I'll definitely be looking for these ladies next year!

Better than I expected it to be. Only 14 floats and usually 2 marching groups in between the floats. It was super late (not their fault) but it went past pretty quickly. That was a good thing because we were ready to go home after a much longer Sunday than anticipated.

We are heading home from a series of parades in NOLA, and I have to say that the Femme Fatale parade was waaaaaaaay too long and really lacking the same flair that the other parades today shared with the onlookers. Their parade started so late and there was at least a 25 minute lag between each float. They had a lot of bands and dancers, but it was obvious that those kids were over it too. Femme Fatale seriously made us lose interest in the parades all together and if we didn't see good reviews for King Arthur and Carrollton, we would have left and thought that all parades were as unorganized and self aggrandizing as Femme Fatale. It was really unfortunate too, because we wanted to support them and their mission, but we were left wanting them to just finish and move on.
