Went here on a rainy day based on reviews and what we'd seen from some TV shows. The Yakamein was fantastic - I loved it both with and without the shrimp. The flavor was great, and we were even able to Facetime with Ms. Linda Green herself, who was feeling a bit under the weather that day.I wish there had been somewhere to sit and eat that was dry and out of the rain. We ate on a porch with a couple broken patio tables and chairs, and mostly just stood under an awing getting a little bit wet while we ate. But overall, the experience was great and I'd recommend it for foodies who are visiting New Orleans.

Either her son or grandson was running the show this morning. He was very polite. Very nice unfortunately Miss Linda was not there today. She was getting some treatments. I haven't had her yakamein for about a 6 months, but boy does it hold up to the hype. With just beef, shrimp beef noodles and some green onions for texture and favor. The absolute star of the show is her broth. It is so satisfying and delicious. I also got the crawfish mac & cheese and it's just wonderfully delicious creamy, just the perfect bite always go back to this. Thank you Miss Linda. I hope you to see you in person next visit. A guy was there and he said he drove in from Atlanta, hoping that she would be open and working today he was visiting some friends. It looked like her grandson, or son. Was trying to set up a time or she would be back and they could get a picture together.

Yakamein was on point!! Visited NOLA for the weekend and main thing on the "to-do" list was to taste the yakamein ( beef and beef w/ shrimp). We also got crawfish Mac and cheese for good measure! The people talking the order were friendly and smiled to high heaven although it was hot out. And Ms. Linda was gracious enough to take pictures with me and my sister. The food was delicious. Will definitely find her again if/when I get back to NOLA.

The Netflix premiere "Street Food USA" has been a phenomenal series of food culture and life stories that makes you appreciates the history of the cook/chef. The story behind this Ms. Linda truly touched my heart. A hardworking, hospitalable, home cook that hit rock bottom after she lost her eldest son due to depression. The day she lost her son, her life came crashing down on her, and she lost the passion for feeding smiles to her customers; but she made a relentless comeback and pursued her dream to keep on fighting. She remembered the one thing that her son told her which was that she was able to do anything she can do, so in honor of her passing son, she did what she did best, which was to return to the kitchen and feed the hungry patrons that adored her so much. And thus, a legacy was born! I had been on this series for a while and made this apart of our itinerary for New Orleans back in September 2022. I researched where she was going to be at serving at on her social media page since she didn't have a restaurant to go to. She is usually serving in the surrounding area of the French Quarter so her die hard patrons can get the taste of her home cooked meals. After arriving to the location where she was posted up at, we waited in line for about 30 minutes; as her team was setting up, Ms Linda came down the line to greet her guests and asked who wants take pictures. She was very enthusiastic and glad to see everyone that came by to get a taste of her dishes. As a fan from afar, how can I possibly refuse a picture with the Yakamein Lady. I did enjoy her lively, hospitable spirit. She truly loved her beloved customers. When we got to the front of the line, so I ordered 1 shrimp and beef Yakamein and 1 crawfish macaroni and cheese. Even though it was a small pop up shop, she did accept credit cards so we paid in cash and crossed the street to a local park to eat her dishes. Her meals weere served in a white styrofoam cup and it came with some to go utensils. The dish noodle had chopped up green onions, slices of beef and deshelled small shrimps, and half a boiled egg. The broth had a beef broth flavor which had a rich and umami flavored beef broth. It has a similar feel to a beef flavored top ramen noodle. I appreciated the nostalgic feeling but a good and simple dish none the less. The mac and cheese was stuffed with macaroni and cheese but nothing extraordinary. Just a warm cheesy bowl of macaroni. I couldn't taste much of the crawfish but I believe it's chopped up somewhere in there. My overall experience was great. The line wasn't crazy long, the food was mediocre and the service was good. I would definitely come back and support her because her story and thrive is the reason why I don't mind supporting small local business. Even though the food wasn't the best I've ever had, I am ok with that. Keep that legacy going on Ms. Linda! If I am ever in town, I'll be coming back for second rounds! Thanks for your story and your drive. You make a difference in someone's life out there!

Used to live in New Orleans area prior to Katrina but now live up in Baton Rouge.Back in the days when I worked in downtown New Orleans but lived in St Bernard parish, I would often stop at King seafood on St Claude on my way home and get me a big monster cup of Yak-A-Mein for my dinner. Sadly I've yet to find an establishment in the Baton Rouge area that makes this soul fulfilling soup. So, when in New Orleans recently I decided to do an online search for Miss Linda who I know from publicity after Katrina had begun to offer her delicious Yak-A-Mein on the road either via a food truck or at pop-up locations.I lucked out and discovered from her Facebook page that her business was doing a pop-up at Southern University's campus center on a day when I was in New Orleans. Mind you, I was staying in old Metairie at the time and had to go all the way across town to get to the university center but IT WAS WORTH IT!!FINALLY I got my old fashioned fix of a cup of delicious Yak-A-Mein. The cup was smaller than I remember from King's seafood and the price was nearly double from pre Katrina prices, but it was worth every slurping delicious spoonful. I dug into the cup so fast that I almost forgot to take a picture which is why the one attached to this review is a little lacking. The cup was filled to the brim when I first got it LOLThank you Miss Linda for your business in continuing the New Orleans Yak-A-Mein tradition. It made my recent visit to New Orleans truly special and tasty.Still hoping somehow, somewhere, someone in the Baton Rouge area will start making delicious Yak-A-Mein near me.
