My husband and I had breakfast at Mr. Ed's Southern Creole Kitchen, an authentic New Orleans Creole restaurant located conveniently within walking distance of our hotel in the heart of the French Quarters. I was pleasantly surprised by the pricing, which felt reasonable and not overpriced, especially given the restaurant's prime location. We ordered the Creole shrimp omelette paired with grits and the crawfish étouffée with cheese grits. The shrimp omelette was delightful; the eggs were fluffy, and the portion size exceeded my expectations. The crawfish étouffée, a signature Creole dish, was flavorful, but I missed a bit of the spice that I usually expect from this cuisine. Both dishes came with creamy, fresh grits, although they could have used a touch more salt to enhance the flavor. Overall, the dining experience was very positive. The food was fresh and prepared quickly, and the total bill was a mere $33, including two cups of hot tea. While there were minor adjustments I would suggest regarding seasoning, I would definitely recommend Mr. Ed's for anyone looking for a tasty breakfast that embodies the essence of New Orleans!

I could not leave Nola with getting a good plate of Red Rice and Beans and Mr. Ed's delivered. I got the red beans and rice with fried fish. It was so good. Satisfied this craving completely. I also got a Hurricane that was insanely sweet. I would skip that, everything else was good. Staff was nice and service was quick.

My bestie and I stayed at the Wyndham during Essence Festival and Mr. Ed's Southern Creole was connected to our hotel. We popped over to the restaurant after a long day or travelling, in search of some good food and strong drinks. Mr. Ed did not disappoint! We actually visited this restaurant three times, yes, that was THREE times in one day! During our first visit we opted to sit at the bar, which had very comfortable seating, high stools with a foot rest so your feet are not hanging awkwardly. The bartender was very friendly and attentive, checking in repeatedly, if we need anything else. We enjoyed a few Hurricanes and shared a Crawfish, Spinach & Artichoke Dip. The dip was so good and they were not stingy with the chips!During our second visit, we had yet another Hurricane and the Creole Gumbo which was jammed packed with amazing flavors, certainly one of the best bowls of gumbo I have ever had. our waitress was equally amazing as the bartender from earlier in the day. Mr. Ed's is definitely not lacking on that good ole' southern hospitality. During our third visit, which was late night and after one too many drinks :-), my bestie and I ordered Pasta Jambalaya to-go. Same as the other dishes, the jambalaya did not so yummy and was the perfect meal to soak up all of the liquor that we overindulged on during the day.If you find yourself in NOLA, make sure that you add Mr. Ed's Southern Creole to your foodie must try list! You definitely will not be disappointed!

Happened in to New Orleans and looking to watch the big game. This restaurant is attached to the Wyndham French quarter -so that was convenient. We sat at the bar and super happy that we could watch the game. Hubby ordered baked red fish w potatoes and veggies. I ordered twin pork chops w jambalaya and veggies. Hubby happy w his meal. It had some sort of yummy white sauce and potatoes were delicious. My side dishes were ok but particularly disappointed in the VERY thin pork chops. You just can't make them juicy and tender when they are 1/4 inch thick. Only $18 so I understand but truthfully I'd rather pay $23 and get one nice thick chop. -Otherwise the place was great!

This restaurant is located near Canal in the French Quarter. The ambiance at this location is vibrant and comfortable. I wanted a po-boy, but not a really big meal. Jimmy helped me choose a shrimp po-boy, served on a bun. It was amazing and absolutely hit the spot. The service was quick. Even with a full house (thanks to a Swift concert), our party of 2 did not wait long to be seated, and we received our food in a timely manner. My husband loved the fries. I loved the Po-boy so much, I ordered a 2nd one 2 nights later and it was just as delicious! I recommend this restaurant and their sister restaurant around the corner.

Undercover gem! A little off the beaten path, but delicious, and easy! The food was great, the service was friendly, and we were able to get seated right away.I will definitely try this place again the next time I'm in town. They offer breakfast too but we didn't get a chance to try it out.
