It was fine. The service was excellent! The food was ok. I got the barbecue shrimp and they were good. My wife got the shrimp and grits and it was cold and uninspired.Could've just been us. The place is always full so maybe we are the oddballs. Maybe give it a try if you've never been there.

I joked with our server that I had not been to Mr Bs since the 80s and she said "don't worry, it hasn't changed" and that is mostly the truth. The service was outstanding despite the restaurant being packed on a Saturday night. Our server rolled with the nonsense my party brought to the table. I had the bistro salad and a fish special and finished with the profiteroles. Everything was tasty. My friends had a variety of items, including a make-do vegetarian option. I wish the restaurant had something better than either pasta with cheese or pasta with vegetables. The ambiance of the restaurant is lively but the way the tables are arranged allows for some coziness and they've done a good job of soundproofing so you don't have to yell to be heard by your friends.Caveats, the bathrooms are downstairs which might be a problem for some folks.

We went here on our first night in New Orleans to enjoy dinner with another friend with whom we were riding krewe for Mardi Gras later in the weekend. This place gives off cool, old-school restaurant vibes, and has a nice cocktail bar to enjoy while waiting for your table. Excellent service, and the food we enjoyed was so very tasty. For appetizers, we tried their fried oysters and jumbo lump crab & avocado. For our mains, I had their gulf fish special, topped with crab, my husband enjoyed the jambalaya, and our friend had the gumbo ya ya. All were delicious. We shared the lemon ice box pie for dessert.

Reservations are highly recommended. We had a person in our party get there early and get our name on the list. We were a party of 6 and sat in the back. We liked that location because it was a work group and we could speak a bit more freely not being in the center of the restaurant.Be prepared for a leisurely pace. They didn't bring our menus when they sat us. Our server did that after we got our water. Our server, King, was excellent. The dishes he recommended were incredible! I chose the Honey Glazed Pork Chop. It is gigantic! But it was cooked to perfection - the sweet tastes from the honey complimented the flavor of the chop nicely. It was served on a bed of jasmine rice with ver tender baby carrots. I wanted to try their King Cake and our server warned me it wasn't traditional. It was more like a bitter cake with a small scoop of ice cream on top. It was amazing! I like sweet desserts and this is very sweet so be warned. My colleague shared the Lemon Ice Box Pie she got with me and it tasted just like a key lime pie but not as bitter. That's a nice alternative if you like a less sweet dessert. We come down to New Orleans every year or so and this was my first time at this restaurant. Next time we are here, I will definitely eat here again.

So, first off, the love we felt walking into Mr. B's Bistro for my bestie's birthday dinner was beyond welcoming. The staff looked sharp in their black and white, but it was the warmth and genuine energy that really stood out. Mr. B has clearly created a space filled with love. Now, let me talk about Jeremy, our server. Not just a server--he's my cousin, my friend, my brother. He didn't just take care of us, he *gave us his word*. And when I say he took care of us, I mean it in every sense. I don't play around when it comes to hospitality, especially when it's about creating an experience where you feel seen, valued, and cared for.The vibe at the restaurant was beautiful, and the energy was high, but it was Jeremy who truly elevated the whole experience. He made sure every detail was covered--from drinks to food to dessert. Hands down, this has been the best dining experience we've had in New Orleans and maybe anywhere in the world, and that's all because of Jeremy.Y'all have a gem in Jeremy--someone who believes in hard work and genuinely cares about the people he serves. When we come back, we're only coming if Jeremy's here. He's that good.

Mr. B is a solid place. It's in the crowded French quarter and very touristy. But the staff makes sure everyone walks into the establishment have a great time! My waiter Derek was super friendly and attentive. Since I walked in soon after lunch opened I was seated promptly and served immediately. Almost too fast though... everything came one after another. As much as I appreciated the prompt service I felt like I didn't get a chance to get a breather between courses. The food was really good too. This is the 3rd day of my trip I try to avoid repeating what I have had. For starters I got the eggplant sticks - I have to say everything taste the same fried lol. It's so good with the dip having a little kick. For the entree I have the wood grilled fish. I choose pompano with creole meunière sauce. The fish is tender and flaky, the sauce is nice but I wish it had a bit more spice to it. Also worth mentioning is the warm bread... perfectly crusty outside and soft inside. But there is just no room for it.I ended with Lemon ice box pie. Kind of like a key lime pie, it seems to be the hip thing as it appeared in several menus I have had in this week. I definitely like this one better. The tangy lemon with sweet graham crackers crust was perfect together. Oh forgot to mention! I was seated at the table in the corner you where you can see the whole room. Come to find out that President Reagan had sat there twice before! Definitely recommended!

Excellent food, service, live music, etc. Definitely a great option for Mardi Gras weekend. Had the steak and eggs with truffle butter which was fantastic. Also had the pecan pie which was almost as good as their special king cake. Going to try to get in there again later this week.

Overrated! Our hotel concierge set us up here and I can tell you that reservations are a hope. Bar was crowded, but we were able to find a couple of seats and have a couple drinks. When you're ready to eat, they work you in. Food was really good and fairly priced. I expected this restaurant to be a little nicer, but really it's just a mix of everybody from the street and the tables are very close. Three for the food.

We started with the duck egg rolls and zucchini- delicious. The mustard sauce was ridiculously good. I had their famous barbecue shrimp and my friend the chicken. Both excellent. And while I had to remove the head, tail, and legs from each shrimp (our waiter helped me) it was worth it as the dish was so flavorful.
