Mother's Next Door

Waited about 15 minutes to order at the counter, then they bring the food to you. We ordered the fried chicken so that will take 30-40 minutes. It comes with 2 sides, so we chose red beans/rice and French Fries. We also ordered a biscuit and got the roast beef dip po-boy. The fried chicken seasoning/skin was so good. The skin was crispy and that seasoning made it taste better. The chicken was juicy and each bite was amazing. The roast beef po-boy was good but because it was dip, the sandwich was in the dip already which made the bread soggy and the sandwich on the saltier side. Service is classic, old school, but sharp and efficient.

It's very popular place,but more like cafeteria food. But it's certainly a good location and good for a quick bite.

The poboys are awesome! I would have to say the shrimp and oysters are my favorite there. Might was well size up since it's about a $1 more only. You can give the extra to someone hungry or could use a meal later. The shrimp creole was tasty but I would not order the gumbo again.

OK so I all fell for the hype and made a trip there during the week when it wasn't as busy. What I would say is it some OK southern cooking but not great so outside of just saying you've been there the meal I had left a little to be desired.I got fried chicken with white meat and the breast was small and over cooked. The group I was with got a variety of meals and they seemed to think they were OK too. So my advice is if you want to check it out go when it's not busy but don't stand in line for hours because it's just not worth it

The food was great, but the staff wasn't very friendly. The locals I meet told us only the tourists go here. I would go back, but I have found other places for Po Boys that are just as good and the staff is nice.

Ham was outstanding, super moist. The shrimp & oysters in the poboy were cooked perfectly & I mostly ate them without the bread. You have to be ready to order by the time you get to the cashier. And the menu is a bit overwhelming if you've never been, but overall, glad I came.

The food is highly overrated. Not good don't wast your time. It's only crowded because it's recommended. But it just did not wow me. No seasoning at all

We had our post-wedding brunch at Mothers and had an absolutely perfect time. Debbie was great workings everything out and the area and setup was perfect for our group. The food was well-maintained and tasted excellent, as we have come to expect from Mothers. The bartenders were excellent in making sure everyone had mimosas or bloody marys in hand at all times. This was my first time at Mothers Next Door and it was a great experience for all of us.

I came to this restaurant as an out-of-town visitor because of several independent recommendations. I am sorry I can't add my recommendation. My rating reflects the lack of cleanliness that was immediately apparent. Dirty floors and a very sloppy hot counter were part of first impressions. Expedited food was waiting to be delivered on a counter right next to the area where dirty plates and trash were being disposed of. A Yelp health review would have been helpful.
