A nice breakfast/brunch place right by Jackson Square. It was the first meal we had in NOLA and we enjoyed it. We sat by the French doors which were open in the morning and you were able to get a good view of the jazz band across the street playing at Cafe Du Mond. It was also a good spot to people watch all the folks going by on the street. It wasn't too busy when we went in but the service was a little slow at the time. I'm not sure if it is like that always but it wasn't too much of an issue and the food was still good so we weren't really bothered by it.We ordered the big easy benedict, the fried chicken benedict, and a cajun alfredo. The fried green tomatoes in the big easy benedict were tasty and I liked the fried chicken and gravy on mine. My brother, who ordered the alfredo, said it was the best he ever had. He loved the Cajun spices on it and said it was very flavorful.

Monty's on the Square is a cozy, charming restaurant located in the heart of the French Quarter, offering Southern-inspired cuisine and a laid-back atmosphere. It's a great spot for a casual meal, serving up a variety of dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. What We Tried: * King Cake Beignets: These cinnamon-filled beignets were topped with powdered sugar and Mardi Gras sprinkles. They were a fun twist on traditional beignets, combining the flavors of beignets and a king cake. They were tasty and a unique treat! * Jambalaya Omelette: I ordered the Jambalaya Omelette, which was filled with a flavorful jambalaya mix and topped with house-made tomato basil sauce and my choice of cheese. I opted for potatoes as my side, and the omelette was delicious and hearty. * Breakfast Po' Boy: My husband went for the Breakfast Po' Boy, which featured three eggs cooked to his liking, with cheese and a choice of bacon, ham, or smoked sausage, all served on Leidenheimer French bread. He chose potatoes as his side, and the po' boy was a satisfying and filling choice. * Truffle Tots: We also ordered the Truffle Tots, which were classic tater tots infused with truffle oil and topped with shredded Parmesan cheese. These were crispy and flavorful--definitely a great side dish!Atmosphere:Monty's on the Square has a cozy, inviting atmosphere, with rustic touches and plenty of natural light streaming in through the windows. The dining area is warm and welcoming, and there's a lovely outdoor patio where you can enjoy the beautiful New Orleans weather.Service:The service was friendly and attentive. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and offered great recommendations. However, the wait can be long, so it's a good idea to arrive early to secure a seat.Pro Tips: * Arrive early to avoid long waits, as the place can get busy, especially during peak hours.Overall Thoughts:Monty's on the Square is a great choice for anyone looking to enjoy a casual meal with Southern flavors in the French Quarter. The food was flavorful and satisfying, and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. While the wait can be a bit long, it's worth it for the delicious food and enjoyable experience. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast or brunch, Monty's is definitely worth a visit!

First of all, ambiance. On POINT for the NOLA experience. Service was fast, fun and friendly. My jambalaya omelette was fantastic, seasoned perfectly, with delish crispy breakfast potatoes. Order a single sweet cream pancake--it may change your life. Only pancake my wife said might (I'm putting extra emphasis on the "might") be better than the ones I make at home! She had a tender chicken Benedict, yum. And the iced Irish cream coffee--holy moly. Not too sweet, despite how it looks--definitely hit the spot on a cool Saturday morning. And we got right in, never felt rushed. Special props to our server, Mia. A Louisiana jewel!

As our first meal in NOLA, this was an excellent pick! We started with the king cake beignets which were phenomenal. They came out very fast, tasted so fresh, and had a life-changing cinnamon filling. My entree was the crab cake Benedict which was so good! It was served on a biscuit which I really enjoyed. The crab cake was flavorful and crisp and the egg was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were decent, nothing special. So many options for food and drinks here. Highly recommend as it is right near so many tourist hotspots!

Where do I begin..its across the street from Cafe Du Monde in the French Quarters..I would say it's more for tourist but we decided to give it a try..I got the bacon & pancake, neither was good..she got the traditional breakfast with grits..the grits were corn grits, never heard of it..she did enjoy her potatoes & smoke sausage..I also got the crab cakes which were good af! They put too much sauce on them tho..her boudin balls were good..our drinks took FOREVER to come out..we had out food before we had the drinks..the food comes out quick..our waitress seem overwhelmed with all her tables..

We stopped in to celebrate my kiddos bday with a larger group of people and we did not have a reservation. The staff was so accommodating in getting us all seated together. While we waited we had several drinks from the bar and they were all good. Being from Wisconsin I am particular about my Bloody Mary's. They made a great Bloody. The food was very fresh and had good taste. The shrimp po'boy had good flavor and the food came out fast!

Monty's on the Square was one of my favorite places we ate in New Orleans! Their ambiance was casual but upscale with a huge fancy painting on the wall, large windows letting the natural light in, and some nice vintage tables. The food was great (I had the crawfish ettoufee), the service was excellent, and the southern charm of the restaurant was definitely palpable. If you're in New Orleans and wanting a local, quality lunch or dinner, definitely give Monty's a visit, and you may find a new fave!

The place is right on Jackson square and is a cute place with the windows open overlooking the art vendors set up outside. The service was magnificent. Our waitress checked on us often and was very on top of any requests. The food also came out quickly. We ordered the jambalaya omelette and the crab cake Benedict. The jambalaya omelette(no shrimp) was very flavorful and with the pepper jack cheese it wasn't too dry. The crab cakes Benedict was mostly good. The crab cakes were fresh and had a great flavor. The biscuit was soft but was put on the grill so the outside was a tad crispy. Loved that. The eggs themselves were a miss since they were overcooked so there was no flowy yolk. There was also not enough hollandaise sauce so without that and the yolk, it was a bit dry.
