Mis Padres

The food was kinda mid, definitely not bad but not the greatest either. The prices seemed high for what was offered on the lunch menu. This place had so many good reviews I thought it was going to be worth the trip! but Some reviews might be biased due to an incentive of receiving a free dessert for a review :0 .

It was a long day of herding cats, and a cool margarita was calling my name, so we decided to pop over to the Mi Padres in Geismar. Convenient to where we live, it's surprising that I've never been here before! It's got a good menu, with moderate prices. And a casual atmosphere. A family spot, with a sports bar feel on the side. I'd say if you're looking for a super sexy time, this probably won't make it happen for you...Don't get the tortilla soup! Just say no. The steak quesadilla was actually very tasty, and the house chips with accompaniment was very nice too. The house margarita, I had a 16 oz, house on the rocks, with salt. It hit the spot, I'd come for the M-F happy hour, it's from 4-7/$4 house margaritas 12oz.Juan, our server, was really friendly, and attentive. 5 stars for Juan!

Very expensive Taco Bell. Very disappointed. Their michelada was awful, I didn't drink it and still got charged, their tacos were Taco Bell grade. The only thing that they could jot mess up was the Jameson. Very disappointing...

Lunch here with coworkers. The brisket tacos are unmatched. The service is a tad slow, so don't go here if you are in a hurry. However, the staff is polite. I will definitely be here again for the tacos.

You want to taste some great Mexican food...this place will not disappoint! The salsa is sooooo good as well as the bean dip. If you want a flavor explosion in your mouth I suggest trying the brisket quesadillas! Oh my goodness, they are so good they should be illegal. I'm telling ya, give these quesadillas a try and thank me later once you're stuffed!

I went to Mis Padres for food but stumbled upon a staff of extraordinary young people. The entire attitude of all members was that of a team and/or family. We had an unexpected power outage while waiting on my order. Bartender generously took some "down time" to train a server to make exotic drinks for her experience and my entertainment. A delightful server offered access to her personal app account in order to pay my bill during the outage. All so I wasn't delayed. I spent ~30 mins with delightful staff in a darkened restaurant and had a most enjoyable time. Food was outstanding but the atmosphere and staff even better. Well done ladies & gentlemen. Thank you for the experience. Staff in Dutchtown are A+.

The place to eat real Mexican food in Dutchtown. Birria tacos . Anything with brisket. Great tasting margaritas at a good price. This place has options for everyone. Kids eat free on Monday, huge bonus for parents. Great service! Clean restaurant.

Are you kidding me $45 for 6 shrimp, 6 small strips of beef and fajita and a scoop of rice!!!! Y'all should be ashamed of yourself ‍ leaving 2 star since the flavor was good but I need $20 back

The food was amazing. We ordered a big to go order for work and it was ready on time! Excellent customer service. The bar where we sat was very clean!

Not sure what happened to the service here. Looks like they hired a new manager who is not very well versed in customer service. Acted like he was doing me a favor giving me chips with my queso to go which used to come with salsa and bean dip as well. Despite the exceptionally increased price of queso which was not even half full, these are no longer included. The queso recipe has obviously changed and was not flavorful as expected and extremely runny. Also neglected to give my beverage and had to go back. Will seriously reconsider returning after spotty experiences.
