*Very Satisfying*Mi Padres was the fastest but delicious lunch experience. The host was so accommodating when I requested to sit outside. I had the happy plate: Mexican rice with steak topped with queso & a strawberry margarita.Before the rain.. it was very pleasant, sunny & peaceful outside. There's free chips, salsa & bean dip prepared before your meal. This spot is on bluebonnet, right across from Perkins Rowe! I can't wait to try their desserts!

The mixed grill is lovely! Food came out hot and fresh each time I dined in. The single fajita comes with plenty of fixings, and the house made tortillas might be my favorite part. Complimentary chips and dips are almost always delivered as soon as you are seated. The restaurant has some modern touches like the blue lamp lighting my photos.

We were in the area, and this looked like a decent place to try. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and seated. Chips, salsa (very good salsa), and refried black bean dip were brought to the table. Mexican music is playing over the speakers, giving you a good vibe. Our server was awesome and made sure we didn't want anything.My wife had the quesodilla along with the grilled veggies and loved it.I had rhe brisket enchiladas and while it was good. I expected it to be more. The brisket was dried out shreds of beef. No brisket flavor.Overall, the place was pretty good. We even got a 20% discount for checking in on Yelp.

Since many of my recent reviews were 4 stars and overall those establishments presented a better dining experience, I will reluctantly rate this visit 3 stars. It has been a while since I dined at this location--possibly so long ago that it went by another name. This visit, which was for lunch, I recognized and observed different things---when you enter from the front entrance you see a bar and which bar, while nestled in a corner, looks like it takes up a good 25 of the dining room. I noticed that because while I always thought this was a large location, the open dining room appears to only have approximately 11 tables---of which I think 9 or 10 are 4 seaters and the other a circular table which could seat 6-thus I was surprised at the closeness of the tables in an open floor plan. That said, there is dining outside and in the last year, the enclosed space between Mi Padres and Romans--its next door neighbor --is shared between the 2 so you have quite a few additional tables to handle a busy time. Or eat at the bar which reminds me of a few good times there during happy hour. As for the food---looks like Mi Padres has an entire exclusive lunch menu (back and front) and for evenings a different menu u for dinner. We were there for lunch so only saw the lunch menu--you can order a hamburger but I did not see a Mexican pizza. Of course they have the standard appetizers , fajitas, bowls and a "healthy" section of the menu. Interestingly while they have burritos, enchiladas and tacos on the lunch menu, they do not really offer a combo plate where you can get a taco and enchilada selection---that is different. Also, they have a Happy Plate, which is what I ordered---which is a choice of meat served with rice and queso cheese sauce---I ordered steak--and thought the steak was very tender and flavorful---I highly recommend the happy plate abs will get it when I return but I will mention that I thought it was pretty salty. Oh yeah, when you are seated, they serve and provide you the traditional chips and salsa but also add a bowl of beans-based dip which was very tasty. Overall, a great dining experience and which I anticipate after my next visit re-reviewing an adding another star.

Cute little date night spot. We loved the way the place was decorated inside. The food was good, salsa was very flavorful. We got the fajitas for one with steak and chicken. It was plenty enough for the both of us. We loved how the tortillas are freshly made everyday.... But I didn't like how the chicken and steak wasn't more cut up. The cheese dip tasted good but got thick very quickly. Other than that, the strawberry margaritas were delicious and our waiter was great!

Though the food looked good, it was lacking any flavor. My chicken enchiladas were dry and the "smoked" fajita taco meet was old and there was no hint of having been smoked. Bland food, no seasoning and dried out. First and last time eating here.

There's a reason if you Google best Mexican food in BR Mi padres comes up.Our server was friendly, the guacamole was on point, the queso wasn't my favorite but that's ok ;) I stuck to the guac and the black beans.I had the steak street tacos which were super flavorful and the perfect amount of food. The rest of our party had tacos, various quesadillas and burritos and every plate was cleaned!

Place is terrible. Food is reheated not real. Drinks are only margs and taste like water and sugar unless u get frozen. Hair in my friends food. There is absolutely nothing good I can say. I actually just had the worst experience ever. Overpriced and about 10 items on the menu so don't expect to enjoy your time in these conditions
