So much fun! Tour was a great experience, tour guide was friendly & had a great personality. The little shop has cute souvenirs & a few snacks. If you step out to the back porch of the shop, there's a bench area for a photo op.

Traveled to southern Louisiana the first week of November and stayed in Broussard. Our adventures began with an airboat ride through the swamp. We were referred to McGee's Swamp Tours and I can say that it was not only a grand ride but our tour guide, Armond, was extremely informative on many subjects with a broad knowledge of the swamp, the local area, and would stop several times, during the hour and half boat ride, to explain the history and to point out the critters that inhabit the swamp. He was a character who not only drove the airboat but we also found him to be very entertaining...and as my wife described him, "younger looking from a distance". We also had a personal meeting with his pet alligator, who indulged us as we stopped for a visit, by surfacing and swimming up to and along the edge of the boat. We were advised to keep our seats, that no petting was allowed, nor should we encourage any bad behavior such dangling any fingers or toes over the side. It was an exciting experience made even more exciting as our boat transversed the surface of the water at a speed that made you glad you remembered to wear your sunglasses for eye protection. No bugs...let me repeat that...No bugs!!It was a fantastic experience and one I would encourage everyone to find the time to do...at least once. The airboat ride is very reasonably priced, as mentioned the tour guide is a colorful character but very professional and conscious of passenger safety. You find everyone involved to very friendly and helpful. I endorse McGee's Swamp Tours. You get a pulse pounding but extremely safe airboat ride...and you learn something too. Thanks McGee's.

Such an awesome experience!!! The swamp tour was loads of fun, educational, interesting, and so so cool! It was an hour and a half and about a 6.5 mile loop around the Atchafalaya Swamp. The guide was awesome and made such funny jokes. He seemed like he truly cared about the swamp and the alligators living in it. It was so cool to see him feed the gators and very cool to see them come to him when he called for them. I highly recommend this tour for everyone.

DON'T MISS IT!! I wish I had taken more photos, but the Swamp Tour was so engrossing, fun, informative and exciting that I totally forgot! From start to finish... the staff was wonderful. Skip, the skipper, was a Wealth of interesting, funny and serious facts about the Swamp and its remarkable creatures (which we saw many of)! He loves the Swamp and it's obvious! I learned so much about so many things! Don't miss this exceptional experience!

GREAT TIME! Skip was our tour guide, passionate, (got along great with my dad) and really explained the history of the swamp. Got to see plenty of gators. Hank was my favorite gator. Alligators are my favorite so I had a really good time.

Did not enjoy the tour. Tour guide would get upset when we asked a question. Apparently had a rehearsed speech. Went in December with two small children. Tour guide could have driven slow, but deliberately went fast and we froze our butts off. We paid for 1.5 hours, but got 1 hour. We couldn't wait to get off the boat. Find another outfit. The airboat is overrated. I've had a night to sleep on the experience and can't believe how unprofessional the tour guide in the yellow jacket was. I'm from southern Louisiana and wanted my family to experience a nice time cruising the Atchafalaya, but this guy was a complete A-HOLE. On multiple occasions he let us know how hard his life was, and apparently resented everyone else. Seriously, I'm with my wife, a 10 year old and 6 year old. Stop doing the tour if you are pissed off at the world. Embarrassing. Just want to forget this ever happened.

Papa Noel and his elves were fabulous. The kids were enchanted by the whole experience. The reading of the "Twas the Night Before Christmas", the alligator petting, the cookie sweets, the photo with Papa Noel, seeing wildlife from the boat, singing Christmas songs, and the hands-on ornament creation. Pleasant experience for the grandchildren.

This swamp tour did not disappointl!! Best tour hands down!! Our boat captain was incredibly knowledgable and engaging and taught us about the history, and culture. With a side of humor which made it so much fun for the kiddos. He connected with every guest onboard and made it super fun and entertaining. We have never been on a boat tour before but would definitely go back and recommend to anyone to go. Thank you so much for the fun memories our kids will have for a lifetime

We recently (September 2023) toured the Atchafalaya swamp with Cal of McGees Swamp tours . Our experience was exquisite and well worth the price of admission . Cal is a true Acadian , I mean to the bone. He's knowledgeable of the swamp and it's shows he's a true native swamper. The wild life was plentiful and Cal has a great relationship with the gators . If your considering taking a tour just do it , it's a blast and I guarantee you will want to do it over and over again. By the way Cal, to the lady who stated the Spanish moss and pine apples are distantly related, it's true , just as humans and flies are. Both are plants and both are animals!...thanks for the ride
