We recently stopped by Mason's Grill for lunch, drawn by their traditional Cajun offerings and local reputation. Unfortunately, while there were some highlights, the overall experience left much to be desired.The Food:We tried a variety of dishes: * Crab Cakes: Disappointingly mushy with an overpowering fishy taste that was hard to ignore. * Pasta: Not the creamy Cajun style you'd expect from the area--this version had penne and a lighter sauce, which wasn't bad but felt out of place. * Spinach Dip: The standout! Perfectly creamy and paired with delicious French bread. * Mason's Plate: A great portion for the price. The shrimp crisp helped balance the mushy crab cake stuffing. * Burger: Just average--nothing memorable.The Service:There was no wait for lunch, which was a plus. However, the service experience was awkward and uncomfortable. After politely sharing feedback about the crab cakes, our server seemed to assume we wanted a refund (we didn't). Moments later, the manager--who turned out to be the owner--came to our table with an unwarranted explanation about their no-refund policy. This approach was unnecessarily defensive and left us feeling embarrassed.I even stepped away to clarify directly with the owner that we weren't asking for a refund, just raising concerns about the crab cakes' freshness. His dismissive tone and handling of the situation were disappointing, especially coming from the owner of the establishment.Overall:While Mason's Grill has some potential--like the spinach dip and reasonable lunch portions--the lackluster food and poor handling of customer feedback overshadowed the experience. For a place that's so well-known, we left feeling let down.

Came here for brunch with a friend who recommended this spot. I'm glad she did! I enjoyed everything that I ordered and get food looked pretty tasty too. I got French toast as a side and eggs Benedict. It was pretty tasty. The staff was super thoughtful and attentive! Our waiter was very pleasant. The atmosphere in the restaurant was a mix of a brunch spot with a slight bar feel and there were tvs for watching sports. Nice relaxed vibe. Not bougie and not a hole in the wall either. A nice mix of vibes.

The first time I tried Masons grill I was highly disappointed and swore I'd never go here again. My sister was in town visiting and she picked Masons.The meal this time greatly changed my opinion. We were sat fairly quickly and out server was very attentive. I ordered the Honey Jalapeño Wings and my sister had spinach dip. This was the second time I was trying these wings and this time it got me hooked. Those wings are so DAMN good! I couldn't even get a good picture of them..Fried perfectly and the wings are a nice sized and meaty. I will forever eat these wings now. The chopped steak was okay. The wings honestly stole the show. They are remodeling and had a nice bar area. Can't wait to see what it looks like when everything is finished.

First time and I've fallen in love. We ordered the shrimp and grits (9/10), the boudin omelette (7/10), and the "jack'd up" potatoes (10/10). The shrimp and grits were perfection. I absolutely adored the shrimp and grits, perfectly seasoned and the shrimp were seared to perfection. The omelette was cooked so fluffy and was one of the better omelette I've ever had. I hate an omelette to be scorched and their's was far from it. NOW THOSE POTATOES!!!! Dude 10/10 I could've eaten a plate of just those potatoes. Our server was attentive and waited patiently while we struggled to decide what yumminess to partake in. Can't wait to go back.

Was greeted and seated immediately, waitress took our drink order and came back quickly with them. Got our food before we could finish half our beer. Wait staff were pleasant and attentive, the owner even came by and checked on us. Food was very good. We come to B R twice a year for medical visits, this will be a go to for the future.

Insultingly small portions for the price. Tasted okay, but not enough food. Small, dirty, poorly lit bathrooms that were inaccessible, and missing soap and ways to dry hands. Slow service after a lunch time rush with wait staff not able to adapt the script. Yes, I want everything except mayo. No, I don't want your overpriced special. Would be better if the wait staff was replaced by a kiosk where I know the order was put in right. Also, the parking lot is sketchy. Would probably be unsafe at night. The Cybertrucks present also say a lot.
