So many great places to be while visiting the french quarter especially on bourbon Street. This particular store you are NOT allowed to take pictures while inside. There are signs posted everywhere and a security officer inside. Don't know if it was for the photos or shoplifting but there was one. Very friendly. We tried to get our cards ready but they were booked out a few hours and we had places to be so we couldn't wait. My husband wanted nothing to do with a voodoo doll in our home so I took a little longer looking at them all while we were there. I left some coins at the offering and sent up a prayer. Looked over the books and alligator feet. I purchased a few bracelets and a Marie laveau sticker for my yeti cooler. They accepted credit card at check out and we were in our way in no time.

The lore around the previous location at 739 Bourbon made this shop neat. However, they moved the original location, and this is the new location. It's a lot smaller in size, with readings in the back and novelties throughout.Do not take photos like I did. Oops! its just hard not to love the artwork here.

Marie Laveau's House of Voodoo is the best in New Orleans with fun tchotchkes for all--some are cheap souvenirs and others are the real deal. Leave a prayer or note at the Marie Laveau alter statue. Get your tarot cards read. Talk to the shop employees. I could spend hours in here and never see it all. Don't forget to look up.

Very gimmicky and pretty overpriced for small items, but I had to go in! Hello! We're in NOLA! It's packed to the max with voodoo and other spiritual items. Service was kind of cold, but i think it's because it's just so busy in there with people coming in and out. I did get a little gator claw for wellbeing from there!

I visited this amazing shop yesterday, Oct 4, 2024 and purchased a beautiful gift for myself. Raven, an amazing assistant- who guided me, was very informative on the information shared and the questions I inquired. In this day, not many are knowledgeable of the items they sale nor the spiritual energy that surrounds them, Raven was very knowledge but yet Kind. I appreciate great service. Thank you again, I highly recommend.

It was such a great vibe to be in there lots of ppl were going in out , maybe for the same recent me and my friends went in at a curiosity, but the staff was very welcoming and like I said there was such a good vibe that was going through when you walk in. I don't know if if anybody else felt it, but I definitely did.

This review is solely for Philip, who is one of the psychic readers here at the store. I am in New Orleans, visiting from New York, just about every Christmas. It would not be a lie to say that I hotfoot it to this place the moment the plane lands, and the store opens, to get my once a year reading. Philip is AMAZING and (I believe) one of New Orleans' best kept secrets. This coming from a full time professional psychic medium who works in New York City. He always gives me a host of useful information, and even though I only had my last reading with him just a few weeks ago, already things that (I said to myself) were not even on my radar have come to pass.Run, don't walk to see Philip. But, Philip, please leave space for me this Christmas! I don't want a huge long line ahead of me :).

No photos allowed here so just a description. While on vacation to NOLA, my friend wanted a reading. We stopped in Marie Laveau's House of Voodoo and made an appointment for her to get tarot cards read. She was able to return at the scheduled time and had a great experience. The reader let her take a picture of her cards. The gifts are cool here, plus there is a shrine to Marie Laveau the Voodoo Queen herself in case you want to make an offering and put in a request for "prayers."

As others have mentioned before, this store is just a tourist trap. It is named after a famous 1800s voodoo practitioner who was known as the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. However, the store itself is just a place that sells souvenirs. You will find the usual key chains and T shirts, but also things like voodoo dolls, bracelets, spell books, masks and tarot cards. The variety of items was top notch. We did not mind stopping inside as the shop actually looks very cool inside. It felt like a Halloween store to us. Just don't come here expecting any authentic voodoo. And definitely do not pay for the psychic reading which is a total ripoff.
