Love the free shuttle that picks up at several spots - check their website. If you don't know anything about float making or the Mardi Gras parades this will be an education for you.We ride with a krewe and are well informed about Mardi Gras and we still love it.Great for kids and adults. Perfect for a rainy day adventure too.Plus - they give you king cake.

This was a fantastic stop during our trip to New Orleans! We got our tickets from a third party that was also running a discount for valentine's day -- so it ended up being ~$15 per person, which was well worth the price. We came as the city was gearing up for Mardi Gras, and our tour guide was kind enough to give us a sample of king cake. The tour starts with a short, well produced video that covers the history of the studio / company, its role in the Mardi Gras float creation, and about the tradition of Mardi Gras. It was great background and helped me appreciate this experience much more. We then toured the facility, where artists were actually present and busy building, painting floats. The tour itself was pretty quick, and there was unstructured time to explore the art after. We got some cool pictures and enjoyed the experience. The warehouse is a bit far from the rest of the action and business of the French Quarter. They offer a free shuttle bus, with some limited stops but we ended up catching a ride and getting closer to Canal Street and walked to where we needed to be from there. Highly recommend this as a stop!

Not exactly what we expected, but very cool and informative! Great experience and truly amazing props! Our only hiccup was with the shuttle, but it was minor. (Annoying at the time, but in hindsight, not worth complaining about).

What a fun venue! There are free shuttles offered by Mardi Gras World, however, you can also take hop on / hop off buses that will drop you within blocks of the warehouse. Many of the hop on / hop off buses offer coupons for a couple of dollars off Entry, which is about $25 for seniors/kids to $30 for everyone else.Gift shop and bathrooms available at entry and exit. Start off with a 18 minute video explaining the history of Mardi Gras and the parades in New Orleans. Follow your video with a complementary slice of king cake a tradition of Mardi Gras. This operation supplies 75% of the floats and props used in many of the Mardi Gras parades. Additionally, this venue creates props used for commercials and sporting events.Following the video, you will receive a guided tour through the warehouse to see many of the designs in construction and in storage for upcoming events. Opportunities abound for photos.A really interesting stop and a place to learn about parades and prop creation.

This was a fun experience if you're not from this area or just not familiar with the experiences of Mardi Gras. Getting to learn about the history of Mardi Gras. It was also fantastic to see how the floats are actually built. The only draw back is the price. Just shy of $30 for less than an hour tour AND the temperature. It is indoor so you may think the temp is controlled but it is a warehouse and it is the same as outdoor temps. Currently it is in the 30s w the wind chill and the roof leaks during rain storms. I am glad we experienced but wish we would have know it cost what it did. In the end I would recommend it, just come dressed for the weather!

If you are looking for a rainy day activity you've found the perfect place. Monday, December 9th at 10 am. We arrived by Lyft as the shuttle pick up spots were not near our hotel. We arrived 5 minutes after the tour started and caught up with them.First there is a video giving a summery of Mardi Gras. Then you're given a piece of King Cake. This is the only place you can get king cake out of season. It's a cross between a cinnamon roll and a coffee cake. I didn't get the baby so I don't have to buy one next time.Next is a walking tour through the float work shop. The warehouse is not a 100% water proof. The roof leaks and you'll be walking on a wet floor and puddles. Here you'll see them repainting, designing, paper matche, float parts. You will also see lots of float parts. All but one is made out of plaster or styrofoam. Only 1 is made out of chicken wire and that's King Kong.If you are interested in Mardi Gras then this is a must see. We learned so much about the parades. Did you know there is a port-a-potty on board? Or that everyone pays for their own throws? I'm glad we went to Mardi Gras world.

If I'm being honest, I went to Mardi Gras World solely because of my travel partner's interest. I ended up way more excited than I expected!Know before you go that parking will cost you about as much as a ticket, and it's located a Vegas block from the warehouse. Because it is a warehouse, it's pretty hot inside. There's a quick movie, followed by a slice of King Cake, before the tour begins. After the tour, you can go back through the warehouse at your own pace. Pro tip - wait until that second walk through to take photos.

Had a really neat experience at Mardi Gras World and learned some much about the culture of parades. It starts with a dated video of the history of parades and we got to try long cake (delicious!) Our tour guide took us through the shop floor and explained how props are made and how Krewes work. This is a quick tour and it was enjoyable. Our guide was funny, informative, but a little fast. I has a bunch of questions but he stopped the tour pretty quickly and I didn't have time to ask. Not sure this is something I need to do again but it was fun for a first time visitor of the area and new to parades.

We came here with our two kids and thought this experience was a great (sanitized) way to introduce them to the history of Mardi Gras. The tour takes you into a room for a short video, a piece of king cake, and then a guided tour through the artist's studio with additional time for photos. Our tour guide was great too. Would recommend! (We ended up walking here from our hotel - so can't comment on parking situation.)

This place is great, especially if you can't make it to New Orleans during Mardi Gras. You get a tour of how they make the floats year round and how they create items for other big companies such as Caesars as well. You even get to see a huge machine carving one up, as well as some of the Mardi Gras floats. This warehouse is HUGE with other parts and puppets from old Mardi Gras floats or even some of the new ones for the next year. At the end you can even dress up in a Mardi Gras outfit and take time taking pics and videos with it on all over the place which was really awesome and fun to do for the TikTok. You even get a piece of some King Cake and they have a shuttle that will take you to one of the trolleys. Just make sure your tour is not with a huge school group full of kids which is what we accidentally had. This is a must do in NOLA.
