Magazine Street Framing

I have a framing addiction -- my art is an extension of me, and I love having it beautifully and uniquely displayed. When I moved to New Orleans 2 years ago, I needed a new framer, and found the girls at Magazine Street Framing right off the bat. I never looked back. They are kind, patient (they need it with me -- I always want to look at all my options!), professional, accommodating, and VERY reasonably priced. I can't say enough nice things about them. I've gotten about 10 things framed there, and everything, from my Ladies' Choice posters (which is a downright STEAL) to my most prized painting, has turned out perfectly. Now I'm moving again, and I am so sad to say goodbye to them. Thank you for all your help these last two years!

This is the absolute best place for any kind of framing you can imagine. Exceeding wonderful staff who bend over backwards to help in anyway they can. They helped me rush order a frame and backsplash job for two diplomas and I could not be happier with how beautifully they came out!! They most assuredly deserve a five star rating- if I could give more stars I would. Their dog, Chuwpy, is also a sweetheart if you get to meet her. In sum, I would recommend this place to anyone who needs something framed - or even if they want to browse their art collection!

So I visited the Magazine Street Framing shop about a year ago for a custom frame. It was an antique piece of paper currency. Long and short of the project was that I wanted it to be a freestanding piece that could be viewed from the front and back. So this was definitely a custom job. I called ahead and they recommended I bring the piece in. Two girls waited on me and heard me out. After me showing the piece and explaining the project, they promptly told me, it was not possible. Undeterred, I tried to get them to consider some different ways to make the project work and with each idea I had (which I'm sure were not great...I am not creative), they shot each idea down. I cannot remember the girls names. I got one of their cards, and one was definitely a master framer...at least according to her card. Kind of exasperated with their lack of imagination, I said "Money was no object, can you think of anything?" They assured me, my project was not possible. So I was bummed, but also a little put out by their condescension. I think they could have found a more polite and certainly more positive way to discuss the project. Ultimately, I found an awesome frame shop that crushed this project. So it all worked out. I think Magazine Street Framing is probably great if you have a jazz fest poster you need framed. But if you have something that requires a little more skill or effort, consider elsewhere.

I have gotten several pieces of art-work done here.The quality work produced is extremely, extremely high. Probably as good as it gets.From past experiences I have found this one to be a little pricier - compared to the others.While we on the subject, all your purchases here are tax free - so maybe that helps to offset.It's on the list

These girls are the best! They are all professional artist and have an awesome eye for color, design and functionality. They are very pleasant to work with and have great attitudes! Loved every piece I have taken there for both custom jobs and "Ladies Choice"! Highly recommended!

I chose Magazine Street Framing to handle my most recent acquisition, based on prior reviews and gallery recommendations. Lindsey and Ann met or exceeded expectations in every aspect of the transaction. The frame/glass selection and estimate was handled in a professional, but fun and friendly way. The job was completed in a timely manner, prompting a call to let us know it was ready for pickup. The finished project turned out perfectly! I'll be back!!!

Sometimes, you're just walking down the street and you come across a guy selling a woodblock print on a piece of fabric the size of your average tablecloth. And because you're sort of impulsive and love buying street art, you end up taking it home with you. Only to then be struck by the thought, how the HELL am i going to display this beast?? Cut to me, walking into Magazine Street Framing. I explained that yes, although the piece I wanted framed was taller than I am, I wasn't able to spend a fortune. Luckily, Lindsey was totally prepared to help me find a frame that was within my budget and actually looked far more expensive than it was. She explained a bunch of different mounting options and their respective price points. When we had all the details worked out, I deposited the print (which at this point was a wrinkled disaster) into Linsdsey's hands and waited with baited breath to see the end product. Two weeks later, right on time, I got a phone call that my print was framed and ready to be picked up. I walked into the store and.... oh my god, it looked STUNNING. The wadded up fabric had been ironed so that it looked pristine. The frame itself was stunning. The workmanship was excellent. It seriously took my breath away!! I am so happy that i used Magazine Street Framing for this piece. They did a fantastic job, were so easy to work with, and made good on every promise. My expectations were exceeded a hundred times over. A fabulous local business. Plus, they promise to match any framing price in town, including Michaels (ugh, please don't give your money to these big box stores, and keep it in the community instead!!) Magazine Street Framing, I promise I'll be bringing lots more pieces of wrinkled, mangled art your way for you to turn into masterpieces!!

I just called looking for a simple 4x6 frame. Anne was super courteous on the phone and told me to swing by to have a look. Lindsey greeted me at the door and expressed I must have just talked to Anne and helped me with what I needed. These two helped ya boi out in a bind...would def recommend these girls to anyone looking for any type of framing and great customer service!!
