Food: 4.5Service: 5Cleanliness: 5Ambiance: 4.5Had dinner at Luke on St. Charles Ave., and let me just say -- everything we ordered was incredibly tasty! This spot definitely delivers on flavor. The Brussels sprout appetizer was the star of the show for me. Crispy, a little sweet, a little spicy, and topped with salty feta -- just chef's kiss. I could have easily eaten a whole plate of them by myself. We also tried the pork belly with kimchi and grits, which had amazing flavors, but I wished the pork belly was a bit more tender. Still, the combo of rich, and creamy was spot on.For my main, I went with the shrimp and grits, and it came out piping hot. The shrimp were big and juicy, the grits were creamy, and the sauce was rich and packed with flavor. Just the kind of comforting dish you want in NOLA.We sat in the upper dining room, which had a cool view of the kitchen's "fishbowl" setup, so we got to watch the team in action while they prepped our meal.Overall, highly recommend Luke for a flavorful, well-executed meal in New Orleans. Definitely a spot I'd revisit!

We stumbled upon this gem the night we arrived and am so glad we did because it was late and we were hungry! Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess seemed unwelcoming and emotionless--perhaps we caught her on a bad day. After we were seated, we were promptly greeted by our waiter, Will. He gave us some great food recommendations and honestly it did not disappoint! The gumbo was hearty with huge chunks of andouille. The LA gulf oysters were fresh, meaty, and cleanly shucked. The Shrimp and grits were so flavorful and beautifully cooked. And lastly, the steak frites were only so-so. A bit too charred for my liking, and was slightly under seasoned. We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and Will's friendly demeanor which gave us a lovely impression of NOLA!

Went for a business lunch. It's a good staple. Had a cup of gumbo (not pictured) and enjoyed the pate. The pate paired with the pickled veggies (cucumbers, cauliflower, carrots and okra) were yummy and had a sweet and tangy tomato chutney. Delicious.Service was good, attentive as it should be for a lunchtime mea.Fried oyster salad - also good. Could have used a squeeze of lemon and maybe a touch more seasoning.

Stellar service and a great atmosphere. Came for happy hour oysters and also had breakfast. Oysters oddly came out before our drinks but were pretty good. Some on the smaller side but all very fresh. The focaccia is a must as it's very fluffy and delicious when fresh out. Drinks are half price during the happy hour too. The chicken biscuit is cooked perfectly and very juicy. I like the grits as they're very buttery. Overall a good experience and would definitely take advantage of happy hour again.

Visiting from NYC with friends. We landed starving and our hotel nearby recommended this place for a lunch. Quickly seated. We had the milk punch drink that was very good. We had the salad with the fried oyster salad. This was devoured I. It's entity. The fried oysters were a bit salty but salad was worth it. The star of the lunch was the chicken and waffles. The sweet and savory match up was perfectly done. Apparently this is only served on wknd so plan wisely. Burger was OK, the fries were good. Over all, a great lunch. They had more options on the dinner menu. We didn't have enough time to return for dinner.

I've lost count of how many times I've visited Luke and had an amazing experience--great atmosphere, fantastic drinks, and usually excellent vibes. However, my most recent visit left me deeply disappointed due to the service.I brought my family to enjoy their happy hour special, as we often do. Everything started off well--French 75s were as delicious as ever, my daughter enjoyed her usual grilled cheese and fries from the kids' menu, and my boyfriend and I indulged in raw oysters, turtle soup, and a dessert from the Revellion menu.Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse. A waitress, who wasn't our original server, came over, dropped the check, and asked if we needed anything else. At the time, we were still deciding if we wanted to order more. A few minutes later, she returned, visibly annoyed, and told us that if we weren't ordering anything else, we needed to close out and leave because there was another reservation waiting. We informed her that we weren't ready to close out and placed an order for the Cane Syrup Glazed Pork Belly. As she walked away, still in earshot, she remarked to a fellow waiter, "Oh, so now they want to order something else." I was absolutely stunned by this unprofessional behavior. Out of the countless times I've dined at Luke, I've never experienced anything like this. I understand the need for reservation time limits, but this has never been an issue before. We spoke with a manager, and while the situation was ultimately resolved as best as it could be under the circumstances, the experience left a sour taste. We'll definitely avoid this particular waitress in the future--if she's even there when we return.

Make sure to get yourself a reservation especially during a Friday or weekend happy hour! The happy hour deal on oysters is amazing at $1.5 per gulf oysters and the oysters were huge and fresh. $6 fried oysters and also half off on drinks. We also ordered off the dinner menu as well and loved the speckled trout amadine ($36) followed by the cane syrup glazed pork belly $17. Can't wait to come back for more happy hour and try more items that we were eyeing from the menu!

Overall: The food here was excellent, especially the gumbo. I'd come back just for that. Everything else was good, just not quite up to the level of the food. But I was blown away enough by the food that this still gets a 5. Food: 5Drinks: 4Service: 3Value: 4Atmosphere: 4Food: All of the food we had was delicious. We started off with a half dozen oysters of different local varieties, all of which were surprisingly good considering the reputation of warm water oysters. We then had a bowl of gumbo with was the highlight of the meal for me. The broth was extremely savory and the bits of seafood in it were nicely cooked and not rubbery. After that, we had the oxtail ragout and the shrimp and grits. The ragout was served over handmade pasta. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the grits were a nice complement. All of the food was well done and delicious. We also got the layer cake for dessert, which was tasty but poorly described on the menu. Drinks: We each got a cocktail. My girlfriend got the French 75 and I got the Blackberry Smoke. The French 75 was served in a goblet and was huge. The blackberry smoke was much smaller and was just alright. Service: Our waiter was friendly, but didn't provide a ton of help or guidance when I had questions. Luckily I don't think you can go wrong with any of the food options here. Value: We paid about $150 all in for our meal here. Considering all we got, we were happy with it. All of the dishes were large and it was pretty good for an upscale restaurant. Atmosphere: The restaurant is split into two sections with an entrance to the hotel separating them. We were in the back section by the kitchen. It was a nice area and we had plenty of space. It was a very nice date spot.

Came here because it was one of the most popular restaurants in town on Yelp. It was by no means a bad experience, but we left feeling that the city surely has more special things to offer. They have some great happy hour deals including half-off oysters and drinks. The menu itself is somewhat limited, it seems their specialty is the raw bar. The LA Gulf Oysters are very large and meaty. Some of the largest I've ever seen, so be aware. The Rabbit and Chicken Pate was too salty, you can only use a very small amount on a piece of toast. The rest of the food was all good. They try to make it look like a traditional oyster house in here, all the staff are dressed fully in white even. Service was good.

This was one of the first restaurants that pulled up on our yelp page. We decided to give it a try. All the food we had was great! The servers were super nice and tentative. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. The best park of our meal were the "BBQ" Gulf Oysters.... A must try!
