The Louisiana Lagniappe restaurant was great! A party of 7 of us got to the restaurant and sat down and ordered drinks.! Ordered 2 makers mark manhattans on the rocks with extra cherry juice and they were delicious and I brought a bottle of Quilt Cabernet from Napa and I bought a bottle from their list of the Decoy Sauvignon Blanc for $27 was a good buy for the price it was all about having a enough for everybody to drink at the table. They give you a salad with sensation dressing on it and it was delicious. I got the Ponchatran dinner entree and it was great it had 2 Soft Shell Crabs and it's Filet of fresh fish sautéed, and topped with a fried soft shell crab, Hollandaise and honey roasted pecans and almonds. $42 then Mike had the Á La Roland which is a Fresh filet of fish, sautéed and topped with the original Lagniappe shrimp and mushroom sauce over rice. $32 and Erin had the PecanPan sautéed fish topped with toasted pecans and Meuniere sauce. $30. And Lindsay had one of the specials which was a red fish topped with crabmeat and it was also excellent. So everyone loved their entrees and then we split 2 desserts. One because it was Miss Marilyn's or Honey's Birthday the crew brought over a piece of cake and a blueberry bread pudding and both were delicious!! And our waiter was awesome!! The room was cold when I got there but it got warmer or maybe I heated up during the meal! And it was a great night!

Louisiana Lagniappe would've been a 6/10 but that salad and twice baked potato saved it. I give it a 8/10. The dressing on the salad it's sooooo yummy I would go back just for it and the twice baked potato. The Chicken Acadiana just wasn't anything special. It was good but nothing really to write home about. I want to go back and try more of the food tho. I'm thinking the Chicken Acadiana maybe wasn't the right thing to get.The staff were exceptionally nice and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I got to go but I really want to go dine in for the experience.

Just staying overnight and tried this spot. Staff is exceptionally nice and attentive - your water glass will never go empty. The restaurant was very crowded and loud while we were there making it difficult to converse. We had cocktails - a rum old fashion and cucumber elderflower martini which were very good. The small salads that come with meals are very tasty. We both got the black drum topped with crab meat. The entrees were well done and delicious but expensive for what you get.

I came here for my birthday and was absolutely amazed by this place. I had never been here before but I had always wanted to come. This place is absolutely delicious. The crab claws are to die for.. actually. In my opinion this is easily one of the top 3 restaurants in Baton Rouge and I have tried around 90% of them. Our waitress was the sweetest girl ever and she was so knowledgeable about every single thing on the menu. I wish I got her name because she knew the ins and outs of this menu without even looking at a piece of paper. It is smaller than I thought it would be and it's always packed in there. So just be aware that parking is a little rough. Other than that, some of the best food I've had in BR.

This is our fourth time back to Louisiana Lagniappe. The place is always packed for a reason. Service is invariably friendly and accommodating. The cocktails and wine list are excellent. But, the food is the real star here. As pescatarians, we really appreciate how they never skimp on quality ingredients. The soups were delicious, full of crabmeat and flavor. The entrees were also flavorful, and prepared perfectly. We even shared an excellent King Cake bread pudding for dessert. Once again, we were beyond pleased. It's not inexpensive, but worth every penny.

My 4th visit to this restaurant--which was already 5 stars in my mind--and it hit on all cylinders tonight. Eggplant appetizer was excellent. The fish in paper is top notch--there's a reason why it's their most popular dish. The Ponchatrain was great too (black drum with a fried soft shell crab--see picture). Some very reasonable wine choices (and 1/2 price on Mondays). $15 corkage (or no corkage if they don't have that wine). Not an elegant setting by a long shot, but great food all around. If I had to criticize something, it would be the bread--it'd be nice if the bread were fresh and warm. .

3.5 stars. Lovely "fine-dining" dinner spot for a special occasion. Service tends on the formal side with lots of help to tables and in the dining room. Someone was always nearby for a request or assistance. Immediate bread service, plate-clearing, and beverage refills were timely. This is where to go if you need to impress a date or out-of-town business client or that fussy mother-in-law who thinks you don't appreciate her enough. While tablecloth, carpet, and dinner club decor, nice tableware, and wine service. The whole meal will find you taken care-of well. Grilled Oysters are served in porcelain dishes (not on the half-shell). Tried the bbq shrimp, as well. Entrees: grilled drum and fish en papillote. Both preparation styles were delicious. And very "Louisiana" French. (I mean: Well-prepared to traditional French culinary standards.)Food was well-prepared/plated with care, and to the table in good time and at temperature. This was a solid meal. Service - on its own - 5 stars! While there is very little wrong with the meal, Lagniappe suffers by comparison to other seafood and restaurant options, both price and quality. I would much prefer the oysters served in the shell and in a casual environment. But I'm also not fussy about table cloths versus paper placemats. Doesn't matter if it's a diner or a fine dinner club, I want delicious food, competent service, and value. The prices for two starters, two entrees, and two non-alcoholic beverages and gratuity was $164, and about 20% higher than the seafood place I visited the evening before with one fewer appetizer, and the oysters and shrimp - while okay - weren't nearly as good. Great service and entrees. Go to feel obliged or pampered and order the entree that sounds most amazing. But get the oysters and shrimp at a different spot.

Oh man, this is place is dangerous. Best seafood I've ever had, not just in Louisiana, but in my entire life. Freshness is one thing but that flavor cannot be beat. We went with our server's recommendations of the various daily specials and each entree knocked it out of the park. I genuinely cannot understand how something can be this good. A real gem in Baton Rouge. We contemplated coming back a second time during our very short trip because we feared nothing would live up to it- obviously untrue, such amazing food all around in the South - but an absolute must for anyone visiting the area.

Ambience is average. I sat at the bar and the service was good. I arrived at 4:50 and the bar seats were full by 5:10! I left at 5:30 and the parking lot was already full! I had the Chipotle Fish (black drum) and it was excellent and not too rich! The twice baked potato was also very good and I don't usually eat potatoes! The Blue Pudding was also very good. My only turn off was the cafeteria salt and pepper! High end restaurants should have cracked sea salt and cracked peppercorn shakers!
