Do yourself a favor and get the gumbo and a half hot sausage poboy. Fantastic. I also like the French fries which are 100% natural. The beer is cold which always goes a long way with me.Service is always fine because you don't notice anything wrong with it.The ambiance is perfect because it IS a prototypical New Orleans place. It is decorated in a way that has that New Orleans style. If you go there you low you have a real New Orleans experience.

Liuzza's By The Track became a destination for all my NOLA visits a couple of years ago. How it has not become a tourist spot I do not know. Oh, I'm sure tourists go there. But most of the patrons are local. I see some of the same folks each time I go.Located near the Fairgrounds on Lopez, parking can be a challenge. Pick your times to find a spot.No matter. The food and service are consistently good, and the BBQ shrimp PoBoy is a must-have before you depart Planet Earth. The bar boasts 10 seats (or thereabouts). There are a couple of 2-seat high tops and 4 (or is it 5) tables. So not a huge place. Part of what adds to the experience. They turn off the music when Jeopardy comes on. Saddle up at the bar to guess answers with your fellow drinkers and diners.

Oh my goodness, just writing this review is making my mouth water. I absolutely loved this restaurant--from the decor/vibes to the amazing food! Our server was also super friendly and the food came out super quick! We got the gumbo and crawfish etouffe to start, and split the bbq shrimp poboy and the garlic oyster poboy. The gumbo and crawfish etoufee were both so flavorful and delicious, with hearty ingredients and seasoned perfectly. Both poboys were also so yummy--I loved the sauciness of the bbq shrimp, while the fried oysters were so plump and fresh.I would teleport here every day if I could to eat the food. This place is def worth a stop; you won't be disappointed!

Liuzza's was recommended by a bike tour person as a great local place. I didn't make it on that particular trip, but kept it on my radar. The next time, a few months later, I spent a few hours in City Park, then made the easy walk to Liuzza's from there. This was a very good decision. We had a bit of a wait, but it wasn't bad. The place was packed and bustling. As busy as they were, they really have things down. The drinks and food came out pretty quick. We enjoyed martinis and cold beers while we waited. That garlic shrimp po-boy, with shrimp spilling out all over the place, was just fantastic. Not fried like other places, and not overpowering. Just and excellent sandwich. Gumbo: This is a thinner version with a lighter roux than many places, not something I would typically consider. It was excellent, full of flavor, and is on my list for next time. Service: Fast and courteous and all smiles. Love this place.

Liuzza's By The Track is Nola at its best. I'm talking about great food; in a low-key atmosphere; with friendly, food-loving customers. This is my kinda place!! My wife and I stopped in here a while back and we were blown away. I had one on the best Po' Boys in my life. Liuzza's By The Track is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, not far from City Park. We were here on a Wednesday afternoon and the place was probably at 90% of capacity. I ordered the Po' Boy and Étouffée Plate. The Shrimp Po' Boy was one of the best I've ever had. The Étouffée was equally incredible. The place is small...basically a bar with some high-tops. Service is very good and prices are hard to beat. It is a bit off the beaten path, but I highly recommend seeking out Liuzza's By The Track!

This place had been on my list forever and I always see people post it everywhere. I came in on a Tuesday night so it was pretty chill. So I sat down quickly and the food came out in a good amount of time. The two servers I had were real cool and gave great suggestions. The place itself is a neighborhood staple it's a cool dive bar! The food was amazing we got the:BBQ Shrimp Poboy- I see why everyone raves about it. It's so good and it's the best thing I had. It's tangy, a little sweet, and the shrimp are cooked perfect. Gumbo- Was nicely flavored and well balanced the seasoning to spice ratio was Spot on! Crawfish Etoufee- This is one of my favorite foods of all time so I'm very critical about it. They did not disappoint very flavorful and rich. You get a hint of spice on the backend of every bite. Caesar Salad- This was the biggest surprise it was excellent! The dressing was really good that's what I think did it. Sometimes it's ok to put a lot of dressings on the lettuce especially if it's that good. I will definitely be back to this spot for drinks and more food!

Great spot in a nice neighborhood! Very much a neighborhood bar vibe, but has great above average food! I tried out the BBQ poboy (to give flavor perspective it tasted similar to a Salisbury steak sauce- the best way I can describe it! Very unique!) my husband had the gumbo and soft shell poboy and both were delicious, fries are perfect. Staff was super friendly especially to our two year old who was the only kid there! It's street parking, and seat yourself. They have high chairs for kids! Great little spot in NOLA

The loveliest time at Liuzza's! After a walk through the park, we headed to Liuzza's for lunch. This small neighborhood spot offers great quality NOLA favorites. Our server, Kaysee, was an absolute sweetheart and provided the best service! We ordered the fried green tomatoes and bbq shrimp po'boy. Kaysee brought us out a little of the crawfish etouffee to try because she recommended dipping our fried green tomatoes into it. So good! Everything was tasty and delicious. Definitely a worthwhile place to stop by for both the food and the service.

We ordered the bbq shrimp sandwich & the shrimp po boy. I loved both sandwiches! The best one was definitely the bbq shrimp! The service was great. Our server was super sweet & you can tell she loved her job because while it was busy, she was hustling & pretty much one of the only servers on the floor.
