A great local gallery on Julia street, the owner show a little bit of all media with an eye toward southern artist or artists who's work is about the south. As a truth in reviewing, they also represent my work here, so even if its not on the walls, ask them to pull a box of my prints and check them out.

We had my little brother's rehearsal dinner here, and I cant actually say that I get much of an opportunity to enjoy, let alone look at, the art. The proprietors were completely accommodating every step of the way, allowing our caterers full access to make the night come off without a hitch. I would surely recommend Le Mieux Gallery as a great site for any event (up to about 120 people).

I have always loved the eclectic mix with which they have filled their space. The owner and staff are an absolute Delight. As for the comments about the price of Art; one needs to factor in the materials, time spent (which is often incalculable,) the intellectual property, plus the many years if study behind them.

Not only a stunning art gallery with a robust and unique selection of talented artists' works on display, but also a museum quality frame shop that is affordable as well as friendly. Couldn't be happier with the staff, the lovely location, or my overall experience. Will certainly be returning to LeMieux again soon.

An out-of-town friend recommended it, saying they were reasonably priced. I can't say I find $1000 or more reasonable, but it's a lovely space. I'm sure there are times they are showing cheaper art, but I was kinda thrown by a loop by the cost of some of the things on the walls.

The space is lovely and the art was well displayed. I enjoyed the variety of styles. Owners we very friendly and clearly love what they do. I plan to keep an eye on the gallery to learn more about new artists.

In 2011 we bought a huge painting done on fencing salvaged from Katrina. We had it shipped to our home in Florida. A few years later, the paint started to peel off. when I first contacted the owner, she was amenable to having the artist repair it. We had a plan worked out, whereby the owner requested that she and the artist stay in our home while the artist repaired the painting. I reluctantly agreed to that. This would mean a trip from my main residence to Florida, but I was willing to accommodate in order to get the painting repaired. By this time the paint had started to disappear, either flaking off or completely absorbing into the fencing. There was a short-lived alternative plan whereby the owner would pick up the painting on her way through Sarasota to or from Miami, take it back to New Orleans, and then ship it back to us. After a very long time of negotiations, she notified me that I would have to ship the painting (I have no idea how would I would go about that) to her and she would have the artist repair it, but I would have to pay for the artist to reapply the paint, which by now is disappearing. So if you do not want to buy a painting with disappearing paint that will cost you enormous amounts of frustration, inconvenience and money, stay away.
