This was on the first floor of a hotel with a good-sized bar and plenty of tables available. The menu had traditional Cajun and creole dishes. The service was appreciated, and the food came out in a timely manner.A traditional order of beignets was ordered. There were three to an order. They were okay, not much to them. I thought they could have been cooked a tad bit longer. The powdered sugar was the key. For my main dish, I had shrimp and grits. There were six small shrimps present that were seasoned and cooked ideally. The grits were extremely cheesy, a little too much for my liking, but they were still good. There was plenty of flavor within this dish. I also tried a biscuit that was tasty. They were large and went well with the grits. Will I go back? Possibly.

Went there for a late lunch early dinner. They don't have a separate lunch menu which was fine. The place reminds me of a typical pub scene. Dark but not too dark. My waitress was great. Elisa was very attentive to make sure that I didn't run out of unsweet iced tea, which was pretty good. Had good flavor seemed to have been brewed properly. The gumbo was hot and very flavorful. I liked the rice add on to break up the spiciness and it was a nice bite.I then had a roast beef with lots of gravy sandwich and string french fries that were perfectly cooked crispy and fresh. Gravy was nice to dip into the fries. They had jazz music play in order to get into this restaurant. You have to go through the hotel, a little confusing, but well worth a trip. I brought home dessert. They did beignets two ways, sugar and cinnamon sugared both tasted really good but their banana bread pudding was outrageously good. It was about a five minute walk back to my hotel to eat this desert by myself. it was still hot and they separated the sauce and the ice cream so it didn't melt all over the place. The bread pudding reminded me of the best French toast I've ever had and the sauce just added to it. The ice cream had great flavor and was very creamy. This is a definite one to go back to next time I visit.

Nice spot to grab food around a lot of different hotels. Would highly recommend this spot as the environment felt elegant, but the prices were extremely reasonable and normal. Our server, Shanei, was tremendous and made this review a 5 star instead of a 4 star. She was super friendly and enjoyed getting to know our family and giving advice on what to do in the New Orleans area. Food suggestion that I recommend is the King of All Roast Beef Po' Boys. The roast beef was superior to any other roast beef sandwich I've ever had. Highly suggest getting the parmesan truffle fries as your side.

Absolutely recommend! The brunch menu is excellent with all the different options there's something for everyone. The chicken and waffles were delicious! We also ordered the cheesy grits with the bacon and my wife had shrimp pasta. EVERYTHING... DELICIOUS. Our server Mia was absolutely amazing and very informative on the menu. Would definitely go back again

Waited over an hour for our food. When it came out, it was cold. Our waitress never stopped by our table to check on us. Had to get another server to just get our bill

Craft Tavern has a hard time standing out among the amazing food options in New Orleans. But, for a restaurant in a hotel, it's a great option (if you are staying at the Renaissance). They are short staffed and service can be inconsistent (at best). The food is pretty consistent -- think traditional New Orleans staples mixed with traditional American bar food. There's lots of space and you shouldn't have any trouble finding a table. The main door was down for repair the week I was in town but you can just as easily enter from the hotel lobby.

We ordered drinks and watched a mouse run around the kitchen. We let our server know, we would be leaving. She was kind but said it's New Orleans. Not ok.

Went with family and grandkids on a busy Saturday night. Service was prompt, professional and courteous. Our server was named Shanei. (I sure hope that I spelled it right!) And food was great too.

Bar staff was extremely friendly, but also extremely slow. I was sitting in the nearly empty dining space shared with the hotel and was told by one server I was fine sitting there but would need to move if not eating and the space got busy. 20 mins later I was told to leave by a different server despite saying I was leaving to watch my uber in 5 mins. First server was kind but the second was extremely disrespectful, dismissive and rude.
