The 3.5 stars sounds appropriate for this hotel- it's hard to rate a hotel, as I normally stay in Airbnb, and it's a different standard.I'll summarize:LOCATION: VERY GOOD15 minutes walk to French Quarter and Aquarium. Less than 10 minute walk to Superdome. 25 minutes from the airport. Close to attractions, like St Louis Cemetery #1. 15 minute walk to Bourbon St. A couple blocks away from Canal Street. 6 minute walk to a grocery store and a CVS. ROOM: AVERAGEI stayed in a basic room, so it was just okay. Clean as far as I can tell, plus extras like a Keurig and a mini fridge. The building is old, the heater was loud, walls are thin, windows are drafty and you can hear street noise. If you're a light sleeper, an FYI, trash pickup is at like 4 am and you will hear metal dumpsters banging on the street. Ask for a room on a higher floor - I was on the 4th floor and was woken up every night. AMENITIES: GREAT Better than average fitness center, very clean and has towels and snacks. The 9 PM pb&j sandwiches were awesome, and they had lemon water in the lobby. One of the nights, there was a live band outside the hotel lounge. The hotel lobby is beautiful. No room service at this hotel. Elevators are very slow- it seems that only one was in use. SERVICE: INCONSISTENT Some of the employees were friendly and respectful, others didn't even acknowledge you as you entered through the front door. The staff by the main entrance were particularly apathetic. Front desk staff were mostly very nice. I was surprised by the lack of room service and I stayed for 3 nights. Someone knocked on my door at 10 AM on the day I was checking out to ask if I need anything. Checkout is at 11.

Overall this was an awesome stay. It was so close to everything and there is a grocery store down the street. The staff was so friendly at check in and always saying hi and bye when we would come in and leave. The rooms were amazing and clean and the showers looked like they had been recently updated. The bathroom and sink are small but that wasn't terrible for us. Each room has a closet as well for hang up items.I'm bummed we missed PBJ time every night, my only suggestion would be to make it longer! 1 hour is fine but hard when you're out. The bar is also located in the lobby. We would have gotten a drink but it was $$$

Five years ago, I was in New Orleans with some friends but stayed at the Hilton next door. We walked by this beautiful wedding cake confection of a building many times and I vowed to come back in the spring with my husband. We made reservations to come back in March of 2020. Yeah. Great timing! Needless to say we had to cancel our non refundable reservation. I called the hotel and asked if there was any possibility of getting my payment back. They said "absolutely" I promised them I would come and stay with them at a future date. Being a person who keeps a promise, we booked another stay and am so glad we did. From reading the reviews, the hotel has cut back on some of the amenities. So I guess to start off with the cons, I was a little disappointed that they have only paper cups for coffee with no glasses for other drinks. The most accessable outlets are in the bathroom and not where you might need them next to the bed. These are minor quibbles. I also understand expecting 21st century electrical access in an historical building is not always feasible. The pros definitely outweigh the cons. The staff are outstanding - friendly, professional and very helpful with questions and providing information. The room is comfortable and I slept well. The lobby area is lovely and a nice mix of traditional and modern. Breakfast in the dining room is good and there is a intimate bar with food and drink in the evenings. I am pleased that we were able to stay here.

Serving PB & J daily since 1988.Needed a convenient location for a med school graduation. Le Pavillion has location, location, location. So easy to walk to the university med center campus and then the convention center for the commencement ceremony. A short walk to the Riverwalk, the New Orleans Holocaust Memorial and The Cabildo House. The rooms were comfy, although the beds were a bit too soft. Would have liked to have had bottled water to make hot tea or coffee in the room, but there is a self serve machine behind the checkin desk to make a chai latte or a cappuccino. Nice peekaboo view of the Crescent City Connection bridge from our seventh floor room.Loved the cute PB & J Tradition. Apparently a guest ordered a late night glass of cold milk from the bartender and shared that he always drank a glass of milk and ate a PB & J sandwich with his daughter. To feel close to her even when he was away, he still drank a glass of cold milk. The staff was so touched by this sweet story that they made him a PB & J sandwich to go with his glass of milk. Today, you can enjoy a PB & J snack from 4-5 daily served with a cold glass of whole or chocolate milk in the lobby near the bar. A little something extra. Parking is available via valet. Intentionally booked a room that included overnight parking, otherwise it would have been $51 per night. Convenient location on Poydras. About a 15 minute walk to the Quarter, the convention center and the med school.

What a beautiful hotel. The best part is Quin, he is the bartender there. We only spent a few days at the hotel but before we left Quin was calling us Papa John and Mama Kathy. Love this guy and his suspenders!

I love the idea of staying in a historic hotel, but unfortunately, I will not stay at Le Pavillion the next time I'm in New Orleans.Pros:-The lobby is beautiful.-The staff is pleasant.Cons:-The water in the shower was sometimes lukewarm instead of hot.-They had an emergency water shut-off the second day I was there.-The rooms are carpeted and I made the mistake of walking on the carpet without my slippers...the carpet was disgusting.-I prefer to have housekeeping only on the day that I check out, so I always leave the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door during my hotel stays, but the first day I was there, someone entered the room to "clean"(make the bed).-They ran out of clean face towels, so I was given extra bath towels. Other things that can be expected with an old hotel:-Slow elevators-Poor soundproofing. I could clearly hear every person and their conversations in the hall.I gave this hotel three stars because they are remodeling and maybe some of these issues are being corrected, but this wasn't a good first impression and they won't get a second chance from me.

The last time we stayed here was to stage/prepare for graduation (rather than risk traffic the morning of) in a suite (Bourbon?) and I wasn't impressed with the worn bits and the lack of cleanliness- at all. Apparently, they've had a reno, so we may staycation here soon to make use of the awesome rooftop pool. Having said that, we met up with friends yesterday, who were staying here to chaperone a church group and the lobby is still gorgeous, the bar is still fabulous, and they are still doing the PB&Js with chocolate milk! I'm crossing my fingers that the upgrades are a noticeable improvement! I'll update soon.

Fantastic experience at this hotel for a girls weekend. It felt so luxurious and the staff was so warm and helpful. Easy pickup for Ubers and great photo ops. The bed was comfortable and plenty of toiletries. Walking distance to bourbon. Had a blast!

I wish I could say that I still love Le Pavillon but a lot of has changed over the last 10 years and the Le Pavillon today is not as impressive as the Le Pavillon we originally loved. Not to say we don't stay here sometimes, it's just not our first choice but one thing is for sure, Le Pavillon is probably the best deal around. They always have very fair prices and in general the hotel is very nice. The lobby and many (or all) the rooms/floors have been updated and each time we visit it does look nice but it's the the stuff you notice once in a room. There is always something in the room that can use some maintenance. Numerous times we had drawers or doors to the dresser that won't properly close. We've had the faucet dripping and the walls near the door have very noticeable damages from peoples luggage but these should be fixed and painted. The people at the front desk... they are always great.A few years ago, they got rid of the door man... used to have a classy welcome of the guy with the top hat and white gloves open the door upon your arrival but they got rid of him. Now the entrance driveway is limited to valet and taxis and ubers can not enter the driveway (so they drop you on the roadway out front (which sucks on rainy days). They barely say hello when you pass by. My last disappointment is the "FREE" PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY BUFFET It used to be 10PM every night with various breads, jellies and peanut butter spreads plus pre-made sandwiches. The buffet used to include milk, chocolate milk and hot cocoa (with a whipped cream and bowls of marshmallows) - - - - - AND NOW, it's at 4PM (not a big deal) but not the same; just a fraction of the options and hot cocoa and the goodies that go with it are gone. They put out a very small amount of milk and chocolate milk and once gone they do not refill (it ran out at 4:10PM and they wouldn't refill). And there were THREE PLATES, and then no more brought so you have to use napkins. It's just silly the way it's done now.
