Langenstein's

It's quite a feat and amazing this store has been around for 100 years. Zapp's chips are my favorite. They are kettle cooked, super crunchy and so many folded chips, which is my favorite kind of chip, if at all. I would say 90% of the chips are folded in this bag. They have a shelf dedicated to all things Zapp's here. No flamin hot cheese purse for me this trip. They have the sweet Carolina Cheetos, which my husband wanted to try out. I might take a pass. Found some Sambal sauce down the Asian food aisle. Not a big assortment of items otherwise.

Wow! So this was my first time in the store and I must say, I really enjoyed the experience. Every store employee spoke to me and a few even asked me if they could help me. It has been a looooooong time since I've had that kind of attention while spending money. This store has lots of fresh produce, a bountiful deli section with sushi, salads and lots of prepared meals. I even purchased a shrimp and smoked salmon dip. There's a nice bakery with unique breads along with a meat and seafood section....live lobsters too!The store also has healthier junk food choices and items lol, (if that makes sense), for example, fried sweet potato chips, etc. If you spend over $100, your name goes into a raffle spinner and you can win $100 if your name is drawn. I hope I win lol. Without doubt, I found my favorite new store. They sell farrow and brown rice pasta! Yay!!!

Great little grocery store will drive the distance to shop here again. They had really good meat choices and good prices

This is a very clean and neat grocery store. They have a variety of prepared food choices. I tried a piece of fish from the hot bar. It was ok. It hit the spot. They have a pretty good wine selection as well. The cashier that helped me was friendly.

Wow! This location of the local grocery chain is huge! I sort of had some deja vu when I walked in because I'm pretty sure I bought snacks here when it was a previous grocery... a few decades ago.There is a great selection of prepared food and a hot bar line. I just needed a few things and was able to find all the things. Plus a crab and mushroom quiche. DeliciousService was good and it was a spotless store with ample parking.

I could not be more pleased with Langenstein's! Originally from the RR/Harahan area, we now live out of state. Anytime we are in town, we stop there on our way in & on our way out! The fresh food & seasonal items are exceptional, fresh & delicious! The selection of meat & produce is always top notch. We always bring at least 1 ice chest to restock our home! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED AT THE QUALITY, CONSISTENCY & CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! This place is a hidden gem!

So this is my neighborhood grocery and it hardly lets me down. Always good in a pinch. The prices are higher than average and the selection is somewhat lacking but when I need something and don't want to go far Langensteins it is.

I'm struggling as I write this review. I love shopping at Langenstein's when I need a few quick items. Plus the fruit and vegetables always look great. The staff are friendly and helpful (except that one time I picked up a sandwich tray and the employee felt the need to let her frustrations out on me). She ended up apologizing, so I let it slide lol. My problem with Langenstein's is the meat department. Twice, I've purchased ground beef that was not the freshest. The first time, the ground beef totally turned bad and grey looking 2 days after my purchase. The second time, I opened the ground beef the day after purchasing. It looked great until I broke it up. Good meat had been mixed with bad meat! That leads me to believe I can't trust anything out of the meat department. I'll continue shopping at Langenstein's, but will no longer purchase any meat items.

Very disappointed in their crab cakes. No crab meat and not even any crab claw meat either. Made with 100% bread stuffing. What an insult to their LOCAL shoppers who know all about seafood. $7.50 for 2 fake crab cakes.

never go there anymore because some items from the deli such as Mandas hogshead cheese all they carry is hot and they're always out of regular hogshead cheese. Yep they lose hundreds of $ my business a lot I don't feel like going to multiple groceries because there's some flaw. Revenue is down not because of Covid because of operations. It's amazing how many stores use that as an excuse
